3. Other Pending Fanfictions (Either Just Conceived Or Gestating) (In Any Order)
(Note: When fics disappear off this list, it's either because it's gonna be published, has been published, or because I suddenly think the idea is lame).
The number in bold-italics after each summary is a general guestimation of the order it will be published in after The Art of Subconscious Illusion: Rewritten and NoHoper. These are subject to change. Ones not included in this order are as good as your guesses, when compared to mine.
Yagami Girls - (Death Note) The day Light became a girl was not the weirdest day of his life, nor the worst. As long as it doesn't disrupt his - well, her - five-year, ten-year and eternity plan for Social Cleansing and Godhood, she couldn't care less. However, with L getting to have his wicked way nearly every night affecting his detective work, her mother and sister insisting on being an even bigger part of her life, her father's health at risk, and Watari subtley planing World Domination as we speak, she can't help but think that that particular day is making it into the Top-Five. A genderswitch continuation of Adaptation by Silver Pard (do read that first), and a series of omakes to appear as a permanent feature in Omake Discharge, starting between chapter 2 to 5. Mostly humour, of course, to be rated a strong T. 1st
White Apples - (Death Note) Light Yagami is the rebelious teen genius descending into boredom, unfulfilled by life. That all changes when a confrontation with Death brings with it a critical choice: Face death... or become a vampyr? Something of a Jukebox musical, with blood, fangs, and heavy metal. No pairings decided yet/revealed yet. NOT CROSSED OVER WITH TWILIGHT. One half of the idea given by a Miss Anonymous Writer, as part of the Plot Bunny Exchange. Much planned, and original lyrics (as well as covers). NOTE: Will not appear here until completely written and public-ready. Expect later than you thought. 2rd
Knives and Pens - (Death Note) Both a prequel and sequel of sorts to The Art of Subconscious Illusion: Rewritten. 3th
Coffee's For Closers - (Death Note) (one-shot) Before Kira came, Light lost his belief in humanity. Before Kira came, he was failed again and again. He would never believe again... that is, until Kira came. Based on the song [Coffee's for Closers] by Fall Out Boy, an origins one shot. 4th
Footy Chants (working title) - (Death Note) (one-shot) The events of Death Note, displayed as a soccer match between England and Japan, with commentary by Tanakabara and Matt. Done for the lulz, nearly done. 5th
That Jekyll and Hyde Thing (working title) - (Death Note) Matsuda has always been a dolt, but when people mysteriously disappear and he is left to head the case himself, no one will believe or trust in his abilities. Meanwhile, when Light is attacked and turns up bloody at Aizawa's house, Aizawa can't help but assume the worst, taking him into his own care. Hinted one-sided MatsudaxLight, with some Yaoi, written because Aizawa and Matsuda really don't get enough screen-time on this site. Rated M for Mature, tragic themes. Much planned. 6th
Nunc et in Hora Mortis Nostrae (working title) - (Death NotexElsewhere) 'Now, and in our hour of Death'. Planned sequel to 'Ave Maria', to appear at its end. Summary to come much later. 7th
Chicago Is So Two Years Ago - (Death Note) (one-shot) A sequel fic to 'Fame Less Than Infamy'. Kira is gone and has been for nigh on two years now, yet the world is barely recovering - not from the terror of his reign, but the chaos that blossomed from its end. The third in the 'The Worst Kind Of Weapon' Trilogy.
This Ain't a Scene - (Death Note) A multi-chapter prequel fic to 'Fame Less Than Infamy', in which we learn the truth to the gun-metal scene in which Kira was caught amidst the gang war. Expect after the end of Fame Less Than Infamy. The second in the 'The Worst Kind Of Weapon' Trilogy. Much planned.
Keeping Mum (working title) - (Death Note) Light has secrets, of course (what teenager doesn't), and so does his supposedly innocent little sister Sayu, but when certain events cause the siblings to have their secrets revealed to each other, all it takes is a little threatening and blackmail to have them swear not to tell Mom and Dad, lest all domestic hell break loose. Widdy fic (i.e. no murder notebook), plenty of shonen-ai/yaoi references, and perhaps such pairings to come. A coming of age romp (although, come to think of it, what ever does that phrase actually mean?), and a lot more innocent than previous works, but rated T as a precursor.
The Holy Scriptures (working title) - (Death Note, with themes from the Abrahimic Teachings) The journal recounting the events before, during, and after Kira's reign, written as Holy Scriptures for the Kira followers, in which Kira is an Angel of Death banished to the Human Realm, the Moon is his Vessel, L is God's tool on Earth to facilitate Kira's demise, and the Sun's Bride is a gift given to start the Kira Faith. The 'Old Testement' (Before and during L's demise) written by Light Yagami himself, and the 'New Testement' (everything after) written by Kindd Morning. Five chapters written, more plan needed. An excerpt of this can now be found in Omake Discharge, chapter 1.
RSI: Recurring Symptoms of Irony (working title) - (Death Note) When Light's killing spree on criminals is starting to reach its peak, and his reign as Kira is almost certainly assured, he is stopped in his tracks with crippling pain... in his wrist? His writing hand incapacitated, and unable to write names, it isn't long before Kira's silence is noticed, and L is on the case. Some Humour, and medical themes, written from experience. Pairings so far undecided. Can be considered a follow on of Dlvvanzor's Shorts and Sweets Chapter 48, if Dlvvanzor allows. Won't be done for a long time until symptoms develop further.
The L Block Tango (working title) - (Death Note) Light is captured and awaiting trial in the U.S, forced to wait in a hell-hole of a prison hundreds of miles from civilisation and thousands of miles away from his home while he finds out if he lives or dies on the agonisingly named Cell Block 'L' among scum - if the cellmates don't kill him first. Meanwhile, in a hotel suite, the rest of the Yagami family are forced to deal with a situation only they could find themselves in - of being the parents and sister of the perfect murderer of thousands. Rated T, more or less.
From the Inside (working title) - (Death NotexHarry Potter (Crossover)) Set to Sixth year (mainly Half-Blood-Prince storyline/timeline) with a mish-mash of Fifth year with it. Light enters Hogwarts in his Sixth year, a product of half-a-decade of a bed with the Malfoys and a force-fed breakfast of their ideals, full of plans to destroy and create to his own satisfaction from within the school, regardless of the harmful consequences his fellow students would be faced with. Meanwhile, Harry is sure that Draco is a Death Eater, Kira is killing criminals in both the Wizarding and Muggle communities, and L is facing the case of his life. A very strong T-rating, with blood-shed, disturbia, some sexual themes, Magical euphemisms and double entendre, and some very strange exploitation of the Harry Potter canon/fanon. Yaoi, most definitely, but no pairings to be revealed here (to be kept a surprise).
4. What I Listened To During The Writing Of Each Fic
I, like most everyone, like listening to music. In fact, When I'm writing, I tend to listen to a specific band or artist each time. Here's the list so far:
'The Art of Subconscious Illusion: Rewritten': For this one, I listened to Avenged Sevenfold most of all, particularly when I needed to think up chapter titles (vital, as every chapter is named after a song, as is the fic title itself). For content, I don't really have a specific artist, although Black Veil Brides' Knives and Pens has been important for a chapter, and Breaking Bemjamin's Phobia album has given inspiration. Avenged Sevenfold is also guilty for content inspiration.
'CoffinSide': Here, while I did listen to My Chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black Parade (particularly the piano version), I also listened to Evanescense's Fallen album, which always got me into the mood for writing and editing it. It's also an album that was also of infinite help when it came to coming up with ideas for 'That Jekyll and Hyde Thing'.
'Fame Less Than Infamy': When I edited this fic's first chapter (Long Live Notoriety), I do believe I listened to an awful lot of Fall Out Boy, particularly the albums Infinity on High and Folie A Deux.
'NoHoper': I did try to supliment the writing of this one by listening to The Fall Of Troy's album In The Unlikely Event, but so far it hasn't helped. As I've been listening to Black Veil Bride's We Stitch This Wounds every time I switch on the music and think up stuff for NoHoper, you could say that this has been my musical muse here.
'White Apples': Musical Influences...
- Linkin Park
- Evanescence (Fallen)
- Olly Murs
- Fightstar (Grand Unification)
- Breaking Benjamin (Phobia)
- Killswitch Engage
- The Fall Of Troy
- Fall Out Boy
- The GazettE (Division)
And a few others... I think. Sorry, but it seemed easier to make a list.
'Chicago Is So Two Years Ago': It is due to finding out about and listening to the song by Fall Out Boy of the same name that the idea for this third installment came about - not only is it a pretty nice song, but the lyrics fit into not only the story for this fic, but themes of the previous ones. My Heart Is The Worst Kind of Weapon has been a great one for inspiration, not only for the fics but also for the name of the series, the 'The Worst kind of Weapon' Trilogy.
'From the Inside': Linkin Park has been indespensible for the aid the music has been giving me, hence the naming. While Death Note, Harry Potter and Linkin Park may seem a very strange combination, believe me when I say it works.
'Ave Maria': Believe it or not, but P!nk (especially Funhouse) and Beyonce (especially I Am... Sasha Fierce) have been especially inspiring for this particular work. And no, that isn't much of an indicator as to how the fic will turn out. Fightstar (Grand Unification) seems to be working out as well!
For Institution Work: Yes, I know this isn't a fic, but I thought I should add it anyways. Basically, when I have important work to do for the Institution, you will catch me listening to either Paramore or Fall Out Boy. Why? Because, apparently, they make good thinking music! And apparently, so does Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare album, and Disturbed in general. Then again, Beyonce is great for it too!
And that's it for now. As I write more and more, and listen to music as I do it, there will be more here soon, I think.

5. *Notice Board*
I have now been a resident author here for over 5 years, and because of certain laws against me, I have branched out onto other sites as well as this one.
The long-awaited fic White Apples, it has now been decided, WILL make it onto here as a fic, and WILL ALSO be written as an original story that may/may not be published or succeed, depending on how the publishers like it. If things go a little more to plan, then it will perhaps be here after June 2013, when I will officially be free from the Insititution. As for the multi-chapter fics that I'll have to finish before I focus on this, it'll have to be when NoHoper is finished at the very least.

7. Death Note US Live Action - Cast Rumours and Support
For a long time - ever since 2007, in fact - the long-awaited Death Note US live action remake has been in development hell, and, ever since the confirmation of the suitably named director Shane Black's joining of the project earlier this month (February 2011), we can still say it is. However, that is not why we're here. You see, as long as there is a film in production, there will be rumours over the cast until it is confirmed.
Now, when actors are rumoured to be earmarked to be in this film, I will tell you whether they have my support or not, and give you my reasons. Since Shane Black may not begin production until Iron Man 3 has run its course, the rumours are dead for now, but if you find any, do report them to me, and when they are alive again, we'll see more here. Until then, enjoy the list of suggested cast (to do with what you will).
Suggested Casting (Suggested by myself and/or fellows)
Brian Drummond as Ryuk - As the Japanese live action film used CGI and the voice of the original voice actor, I imagine that they'll use the same technique in this one, in which case, if they DON'T use the English voice actor Brian Drummond, there will be some very disappointed fans, some very angry letters, and a big dose of regret for all the staff present - after all, Drummond has already proven himself more than capable.
Eugene Levy as Soichiro Yagami - First said as a joke among colleagues after watching the first American Pie film, this later became an honest wish. As he is older, with more experience, and moustache potential, he'd be perfect as the cop/understanding(ish) father of a murderer. Plus, just between you and me, concerning the porn magazine scene in episode 8/volume 3, who DOESN'T want to see a role reversal, in which Light gets embarrased over his father GIVING him the magazines, only to find that Light already has some (perhaps being of a different persuation?).
Keanu Reeves as Raye Penber - Of course starting as a joke between Ophelia Davis and I, I'd actually like to see this happen. As both are American, and Reeves does have a passing resemblance, this would work out quite well, even with Reeves' mediocre acting ability (which got a lot better by 2006's The Lakehouse), as Penber doesn't stick around for very long, and so the wooden performance wouldn't stick out much at all. Would anyone else like to see Reeves as the Agent rather than the rebel?
Samuel. L. Jackson as Shuichi Aizawa - Considering that Aizawa always had an afro, and Samuel L Jackson has some experience kicking butt, this would marry quite well. Plus, with Jackson's rough features, this would work out well, despite differences in ethnicity. Besides, having at least one African American on the Task Force would bode well for diversity. As this film will be produced in America, the cast should show a good sample of American demographics, to appeal to a wider audience. Can one imagine the scene in the Yotsuba arc, when it's evident that there's a Third Kira? "A Third Kira?! Well, I've just about had enough of all these mothereffing Kiras in this mothereffing investigation!"... Of course, can one imagine the lawsuit? And when it comes to the American buddy cop stereotype of the black guy always being the one to die, especially if he's a family man? Well, at least it's averted!
David Tennant as Kyosuke Higuchi (Yotsuba) - Ah, now this is one that I've had in my head for a long time, ever since when, coming home from high school, I peered into a TV store, to see an animated episode of Doctor Who. Thinking that it was Death Note as a weird new series (the guy on the screen looked just like Higuchi), it wasn't until I saw his sidekick that I realised that it was none other than David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. That's when I realised that, with Tennant's experience with crazy characters (Barty Crouch Jr, Hamlet), he's a sure hit for this part!
Laurence Fishburne as Ooi (Yotsuba) - Here, just imagine him in The Matrix trilogy, with his bald head and the small, round, armless glasses. This image is uncanny, and the resemblance almost unreal. With the fact some of the designs for Death Note were inspired by the Matrix, this would be an excellent casting choice.
Geoffrey Rush as Roger Ruvie - Having seen him in The King's Speech, I know he's an excellent actor, and the resemblance, once again, is uncanny. The only real difference is the nose: Rush's is far too small!
Ian McKellen as Watari - Three reasons for this: He looks quite similar; he can kick butt well; he is English. Basically, he is just a very good choice, in my opinion.
Daniel Roche as Near - With his small stature, big eyes, and occasionally psychotic displays, he would be an excellent choice. With the development of wigs, dye, and makeup, he'd become the perfect little Near. Plus, he's 7 years younger than the original, so he's perfect for the part.
Lucy Lui as Naomi Misora - I've always loved this actress, and she seems about the right age. She looks like an agent, and she's Asian too, which gives her an edge, somewhat. Founded on a joke, but a good one still - yes, she's of Chinese descent, not Japanese, but she's played Chinese-American-Japanese before, and Naomi, despite the difference in pronunciation, is still etymologically Hebrew, so okay for anyone.
Alessandro Juliani as Lind. L Tailor - Being that he is a good actor with his body as he is with his voice, Juliani getting a cameo would be inevitable, thanks to his original role as L in the anime. For this purpose, Juliani would be perfect as Tailor, especially as he looks a little like him, also. A lovely little role, because we couldn't think of anyone else.
Alessandra Torresani as Misa Amane - Just a few simple reasons for this one, when compared to the others. 1: She is cute as a blonde. 2: She seems remotely bearable, even as Misa. 3: She ISN'T Miley Cyrus.
Zack Braff as Touta Matsuda - When I found this one, I didn't even realize how good that would be until that hit me. Really, the thing about Matsuda is that to play him well, you don't need to look like him - just be good with comedic timing. Hurrah.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Touta Matsuda - When I first heard that this actor had been suggested to act in the DN live action, I thought 'brilliant, there's our Matsuda'. Now, while it was only later that I heard he was suggested to play L, I still stick by this suggestion. I mean, why the hell not?
Note: If you have a suggestion that we both think would work well for the film, then just PM me, and I'll see what I can do. Also, if you have found any more casting rumours (or are hoping to start one yourself), just PM me, all the same. Together, we can work to make the film industry a little less stuck up, hmm?
