Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, and Firefly.
Welcome! Names Empathic-Girl, but call me Emp. Until just recently I've been empethic-girl. It took me a while to recognize that I spelt Empathic wrong.
Favourite Quotes Currently:
"Maybe it's time for me to expand my circle of friends to include people that don't think the laws of Physics aren't . . . how did she put it, 'silly little suggestions?'" - Rorschach's Blot, The Hunt for Harry, Chapter 9 Where's Waldo?
About Fencing: "I pretty much know 'The pointy end goes in the bad guy' and that's about it." - MariusDarkwolf, Harry Potter and the Eyes of the Serpent, Chapter 12 Classes and Map
About Jayne: "There's something about a man who really believes that what an attractive, vulnerable young girl really needs is to learn to shoot everyone who tries to hurt her in the head. It's so... rare." Dyce, Miranda, Chapter 2
"Voldemort is after a baby?" she clarified.
"Yes." he confirmed. Evil is threatened by a baby.
"Are there three wise men involved?" she asked. - Fractured Artifact No. 248, The Guild Saga, Chapter 1 Wizarding War One
"I am not like Rose. I do not like the same music that she likes; she finds Heavy Metal too loud, and Bach boring. She is not intelligent enough to understand Bach. It is very elegant. Heavy Metal and Punk Rockers... they are so angry. They know what hate is. But they break it to their will. They craft it into something and hurl it at the world.
Without killing anybody.
Rose wants her music to be tame and nice. She says that Heavy Metal singers "can't sing properly". She does not see that that is the heart of Rock and Roll. They are not proper. They do not obey. They are free." - Kerr Avonsen, Necessity, Chapter 4 Bargaining
"Practical. Practical? Penny, observe the moon. We have walked on it. Does that sound practical? Two billion years ago we were cells. We didn't become multicellular organisms for another five hundred million years after that. And now I have an app on my phone that streams Deep Space Nine via Netflix where ever I am at any time! Does that sound practical? Does the Copenhagen Interpretation sound practical? Do you know how fast we're moving at this very moment? That we're spinning on the earth's axis at one thousand miles per hour and orbiting the sun at sixty-seven thousand miles per hour? Yet you feel as if you're standing still? Does that sound practical according to your troglodytic mother's no doubt mundane perception of the world? Do you have any idea how big our universe is? Do you think our understanding of it could ever even have been considered if our criteria for a hypothesis was that it first be considered practical?" - FlippySpoon, The Bellagio Peregrination, Chapter 4
"They're going to fight, and drive each other crazy, and he's going to be weird and obsessive, and she's going to be ditzy and disorganized, and maybe she'll never have the big screen career, and maybe he'll never quite work out how to act like a proper person, but they will laugh and cook and battle monsters and kick ass at 'Halo' and he'll teach her the difference between Klingons and hadrons, and she'll teach him how to drive and who Radiohead are, and somewhere in the middle of it all, they'll just be stupid in love with each other, and it's going to be...
This." - SpaceAnJL, The Paladin Protocol, Chapter 35
At the moment I've got 2 stories going:
An Amulet and a Rose- A Harry Potter story. This is up for adoption. I've lost all inspiration. - As of the week of August 27th, I have no idea where this is going, however, I do have some more chapters of the book.
The Beginning of the End - A Harry Potter/Firefly cross over. This is updated sporadically. There is some form of plan, but I just haven't actually put that in motion. Next chapter should hopefully be up by the end of the month.
Book of Fire: The Beginning Spark - A Harry Potter story. This story is one that will take some time. I've got everything planned out and I suggest you pay attention to the characters and the book excerpts. There will be 7 books in total. I want any guesses you guys have of the story. Let me know of any questions, comments, concerns or ideas. There will also be a copy of the prophecy in my profile. Once some part of the prophecy has come true, I will write what each part of the prophecy means, after the book is finished. As of November 2, this one is finished.
Book of Earth: Vines Entwined - A Harry Potter story. Second in the Phoenix Phire Series. In progress as of November 2.
New Story: Work In Progress that won't go away. Really quick read. Working Title: Firsts. Main Pairing: Tom Riddle Jr. and Hermione Granger. Chapters Done: 3/111 Will post when complete.
Currently, I have a contest going. It is for my Book of Fire: The Beginning Spark. The quote is in Chapter 5: Parties and Prophecies. I want a few things that are at the bottom. Please have a look see, and guess.
Who ever reviewed with the correct answers, please send in a question. I would message you back, but you were not logged on!!
Excerpt from Book of Fire: The Beginning Spark:
A grim star, with it's fiery ball of inferno, shall never fade, only disappear for a few moments, - This is saying that basically Sirius is alive and well. :)
The Warrioress shall aid all, do not let it fade to the impostor,
Fire can heal all of lights wounds, Light can heal all of Darkness',
Beware Lion's Keeper, as you walk with the moon by your side,
Pay attention to those who shield, they are not as they seem,
Do not worry about your past, or your future, watch your present, guard it carefully,
When all light fades, depend on the darkness's embrace, and the powers in your hearts to show you the way.
I do not read Harry/Ginny stories because they are my least favourite. This are the reasons why:
1. She looks EXACTLY like his mother. Gross.
2. She sees him as HARRY POTTER- not Harry. She likes the fame and money.
3. She stalked him throughout the books.
4. I am almost 100 sure she used a love potion on him. It is not real love!
5. She was barely and briefly mentioned in books 3 and 4. Book 5 she came back as some chick who knew spells, and volia, all of a sudden Harry loves her and their dating as of book 6. I wouldn't write like that.
I don't read Hermione/Ron stories either. Reasons why:
1. They argue too much. People say they argue like an old couple, but old couples have love to support their marriage. Ron and Hermione have Harry.
2. They are ill suited because he is obsessed with quidditch. She doesn't care that much. She is a fan of studying and reading. He wouldn't be caught dead in a library.
3. There is no love between them. They support each other because they are both friends of Harry.
4. Ron gets jealous too easily. Hermione would not want someone watching over her every move and questioning her.
I don't read Harry/Hermione stories either. Reasons why:
1. They are practically brother and sister. NO INCEST.
2. Harry really doesn't care for studying much.
3. Hermione may support him, but there is only platonic love between them.
4. They are soul mates. Not as in the lovey dovey soul mates, but as in they compliment each other and are the best of friends.
I am a fan of many things.
Dollhouse - I've recently watched it and fell in love. I love Joss Whedon. My favourite pairing, weirdly enough: Post Epitaph Two!Alpha/Echo
Firefly - Browncoats for the win!
Harry Potter - Favourite Pairing shifts a lot, but I have a couple: Good!Draco/Luna, Harry/Luna, Hermione/Blaise, Hermione/Draco, Harry/Draco. (I prefer Hermione centric stories)
NCIS - I don't read a lot of NCIS fanfics, and really don't have a favourite pairing unless it is crossover, in which case I'd love to see some Abby/Harry.
Just a basic list for now. I'll update more later.
So if you have a story you want me to read, send the link, and I hope you read my stories.
April 6/12 - Not dead. Promise. Major case of writers block. Found a big stock of old beginnings of stories I've made, so been trying to type those up. Other than that, I hope to get things up and running soon. I have to find my notes for both stories. They were lost somewhere in the move. But other than that setback, everything is going smoothly.
February 12/12 - Hi all, not dead, just been very busy. Working on new chapters for both stories, but I have no idea when they will be up. I make no promises, but it should be done by the end of the month, for both at least. I've been busy, attending university, but I've dropped out. Which sounds bad, but what can you do... XD
November 2/11 - Finished Beginning Spark and begun Vines Entwined. Unsure of what is going to happen now. Plans on working on Beginning of the End. I actually have a plot line, just needs to be written now. Looking for a Beta, if anyone is interested.
August 27/11 - Updated both Beginning Spark and Beginning of the End. Planning on beginning the next chapter of Beginning Spark asap. Only a few chapters left in that story. Been contemplating re-editing it and moulding it into the series in one spot, rather than books individually. If you're reading this, tell me what you think. I have definite plans to. Completed another Chapter today! two if you count the Beginning of the End. Three if you include last night's late submission.
