The most beautiful things are those that madness prompts and reason writes. -André Gide, Journals, 1894 Aloha, fanfiction-y people! I go by Crescent on here usually, but go ahead and call me whatever you want, as long as it's not late for dinner! (Newsflash: I make really bad jokes!) I'm active mostly in the Harry Potter fandom. If you're on here, chances are you're from there, and if not ... well, welcome anyway! However, I do have a sparse side account that can be found here where I write for other fandoms, either guilty pleasures or obscure ones that most of you won't know anyway. I'm in the process of moving all my multi fandom stories to that account ... or deleting them and pretending they never existed, as is the case with the Twilight one ;D So, here's some stuff about myself. I'm eighteen and of age in both the Wizarding world AND real life (both of which were scary milestones!), female, and an American who wishes she was British and that she could go back to Paris all the time. I love to write. (Don't we all?) Although I have a fictionpress with a couple of my original stories and poems, my better work is on here and my fictionpress work is crap from before I realized that original fiction put online can be plagerized. As for my stories, I had SO much fun writing Between Constellations and Dreams, where I rediscovered my love for Lily, James, Severus, the Marauders, and developed/began to adore a bunch of the First Order members. If you like characters that have any relation with Lily, chances are they'll make an appearance somewhere; check the chapter titles if you're looking for someone specific. Several of my more recent oneshots are set in that "universe" as well, although they can all be read stand-alone. Unplanned details seven of Sirius' kisses, including a few of the First Order members - and moments - that appear in Constellations. Fade is about Emmeline Vance, and it alternates between her death and moments from each year at Hogwarts. And lastly, Break is centered around Sirius/Marlene, the closest thing to an OTP I have :-) Number 2: I wrote a Draco/Ginny and a Snape/Hermione fic. Color me incredulous, because I actually enjoyed both of them. They're two very different takes, both canon (although the D/G is only compliant, not plausible whatsoever), both written to prove to myself that the Gryffindor/Slytherin, pureblood/blood traitor/Mudblood angle was possible. And they were very fun to write. Try the Draco/Ginny if you want something with dialogue and a plot, and if you're oddly into into second person character study, you might prefer the SS/HG. For a while, I deviated from the Marauders and Harry's year to explore the sisters Black. I have three oneshots so far, largely metaphorical, that center around the generation. The first, Hidden Away, is about Andromeda and her 'escape' from the family. The second is called Stars, Fallen, based off the idea that Narcissa is the only in her generation of Blacks not named for a constellation. And Belltrix's, Moonlit Madness, shifts more towards her relationship with other Purebloods. As in, the boys; as in the Lestranges. I'm now sort of toying with the idea of writing two more oneshots of similar style for Sirius, and Regulus to round out the set. But as I've been generally absent from fanfiction for quite a while, don't expect those to appear anytime soon! My best work? At the moment, my favorite is Break, because I'm in a slight Sirius fangirly and First Order adoring stage, and that satisfies both obsessions :-D There are some chapters in Constellations that I really am proud of (see: 11-15, 31, 34, 50, 58, 73, 83, 89, 93, 94, and most of the ones involving the First Order). And I like Lion's Dance (the Draco/Ginny) beaucoup for the simple reason that I scarcely ever write anything slightly humorous, or oneshots with a coherent plot. This one has both (hopefully to the first, at least :-) ) But you should definitely have a read and see which is your favorite! Your work not getting the feedback you'd like? Or do you just like random conversations, awesome games, and cool net!friends? Check out The Reviews Lounge, Too, a forum to raise the profiles of underreviewed authors. I staff for the C2 that archives a handful of exceptional and underreviewed stories. We're always looking for new members :-) I, Crescent, have challenged myself! I am a member of the amazingness that is the Harry Potter Fanfiction Oscars Forum. That's all I have.
