Hi, my name is Camille, and if you're here you've most likely clicked into my profile to maybe look at my thoughts or find a few more of my works. Most likely this means that you’ve come after reading one of my stories. I’m going to politely ask you now to go back and leave a review on the story you just read. Not because I'm mongering for attention or anything, but I believe that’s the right thing to do.
It doesn't matter what the review says, it could say “wow this was great!” or if it’s porn it could say “Wow this was incredibly hot!” Just PLEASE, for the sake of the writer, leave a review! You don’t even have to say you liked the story! You could say, “I didn’t really like the subject matter, but it was a very well written story!” or something!
Think of it, if you commissioned a piece of artwork, you’d pay the person right? Think of fanfic reviews as a kind of money. Authors need these to live. Last month I got over 1000 VISITORS to my fanfiction.net account, and that is a literal travesty. I always want feedback. I write for others, to know what they think about my work, whether or not they liked it or disliked it or whether or not I should change things.
Just, think about what if it was you. What if you worked your hardest to produce a work, and in the end you showed it to the world, and no one said anything. No thoughts. It’s not good, it’s not bad, it’s like it doesn’t even exist. That’s the absolute worst feeling, for both an artist AND a writer! So have a heart and leave some reviews.
