Part of Me: From the Heart of a Dyspraxic.
Until recently, I've never had the courage to speak up about who I was, and therefore I tended to feel both inferior and alienated. I know now that I will never be the same as everyone else here, nor will I ever truly understand you, but maybe this will help you understand me, and people like me a little better. Because the world will never be fair to us, and it is only through our determination that we don't get left behind.
I was five when I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia, which - honestly - didn't mean much at the time, but hell, it does now. Sometimes I feel like God miswrote the postcode and sent me off to the wrong planet - you people make no sense!
This is to try and raise awareness of something hidden that affects one in four people. I am not merely clumsy, I cannot read body language or hear sarcasm, I have been bullied and picked on because I simply cannot socialize and lost of people still hinder that today. I want to show you and try to help you understand what it is like on the other end of normal.
I hope this helps:
A Recipe for Disaster
50g of co-ordination problems
4 1/2g of disorganisation
1 short term memory
3 tablespoons of social awkwardness
50g of poor concentration
5 tablespoons of original thinking
Special quantities (as many as you desire)
75ml of undisputed determination.
Optional: Added spoonful of Dyslexia, Attention Deficit/Hyper-activity Disorder, Hyperlexia or other learning difficulty/giftedness/a ply, juicy talent.
How to prepare
Set aside concentration and leave to stagnate.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together co-ordination problems, disorganization short-term memory and social awkwardness. In a separate bow take original thinking and beat until smooth before stirring in special quantities and pouring into a large mixing bowl. Add stagnated poor concentration and whisk thoroughly until completely mixed together.
Finally, add in option ingredients (as many as you desire) and sprinkle determination on top. Mix until it forms a stick paste.
Spoon paste into ready sliced teenager and bake in the oven for the approximate length of childhood. For a sour, bitter taste, serve cold with discrimination, frustration, lack of co-operation and a distinct lack of understanding.
Or, for a lighter, sweeter taste, serve warm with good friends, assistance, acceptance and respect.
I would like to add something about bullying.
To those of you who do not believe in such things, and say we are merely trying to blame our lack of skill on a mythical disorder, there isn't really much I can do to convince you other than to say: I wish I could put you in a Dyspraxic body for a day. To be unable to walk in a straight line, or play sports without continually injuring yourself. To be unable to make friends because you simply cannot communicate with people, to be unable to write in a straight line without help, not that you could read it anyway. And worst of all, to be told that you are stupid when you know you are not, yet no one will let you prove yourself. That is most damaging thing you can say to a child with a learning difficulty, so please don't. I cannot tell you which way round a capital 'n' goes, but this does not mean I am any different than you.
If you meet someone with a learning difficulty just remember we do not need pity - I am not sure I want to get rid of my Dyspraxia, having seen some of things 'normal' people are capable of. Just do your best to understand, and don't classify us, we are all different. Labels are for cans, not people.
If you do have a learning difficult, or just stand out from the crowd, remember: Be who you are and say what you mean, because those who mind, don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind.
I would be so grateful to anyone who passes this on, because not enough people realize how much something like this can affect you, or why they are so different, when really there are so many more.
All my love to anyone who feels left out, regardless of the reason - Love Kara xx
I know what it is like to be different. I have: Dyspraxia, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.

Stories That I Am Currently Working On
Expect the Unexpected: While I still have access to the Digimon episodes, I will be focusing on updating this fic more than any others. I am unsure how long it will be before I lose these episodes, and I don't want to risk that happening. This is my first anime fic that has developed a great following, and I don't want to let anyone down.
Raising the Stakes: Never fear, lovely readers, Nuala, friends and family, will return very soon. I have hit a bit of a road block with ideas, I really want to focus on the ones where Adam, Rocky and Aisha come in, but can't seem to get past the last few episodes with Jason, Zack and Trini, I will force myself to update soon.
Corinth's Black Sheep: Originally I was going to rewrite this... again. But I decided against it and am now just going to update the remaining chapters. Writing commenced on 22/06/2016.
Taking Control: This story, along with Powers from the Past, has been removed and will be started fresh.
Destiny Fulfilled This is the next in the series for Aliyah Logan. Set during 2008's Jungle Fury.
Stories on Hiatus
To Break a Curse: Being rewritten.
Kara Cutter: This is my very first story ever written. It was a basic idea, there was no thinking required, and, if I am completely honest, looking back on it now, I am embarrassed to even think I wrote it. But I was a novice when I first started it, and things have now changed. However, I do not feel fit changing it. There is talks about me discontinuing this series, but we'll see what happens in the near future.
LLS: Behind the Scenes: I owe it to Aliyah, and her fans to finish this series. Dino Thunder is almost over, and I have outlined the episodes that will be included from Mystic Force. Updating is going to be slow, but I will focus on this before I continue Aliyah's main series.
Stories That Need To Be Written
One Last Battle: Abby's final battle as a ranger. Set during 2014's Super Megaforce.
Raptor Ranger: Hannah Bradley's second season. Set during 2004's Dino Thunder.
Stories That Need a Rewrite
The Little Samurai & The Legend of the White Samurai: As I have previously stated, this story is now to be rewritten. In the last year things have been pretty hectic for me, what with my grandfather passing away and graduating Uni, I haven't really had time, much less wanted to sit down and write. Also, my writing skills have improved and I have a few ideas that I think will work well for this series. I will return to writing ASAP.
The Phoenix Prophecy: OK, Sabrina fans. I know I have taken a long-assed time to update this series, but you can't blame either myself nor Comet Warrior, we both have lives outside of Fanfiction and, at the time, we were both in University, that life is hard enough without Fanfiction baring down on us too. I do really want to pick this story up again but, just like Corinth's Black Sheep and the Little Samurai, the Phoenix series is in a major need of a clean-up.
World's Apart: Despite my Kara Cutter series, this series will continue. Ashlyn and Kaylee are amazing characters and I really like the plot I have created. Ideas are still changing at a rapid pace for the two of them, and I can't afford to update at the moment in fear of a new idea down the line changing what I previously had in mind. But this is a Primeval series that I won't abandon.
Primeval the Beginning: Serenity may, possibly, be getting a fine tune-up, if not a compete rewrite.
Completed Stories... so far.
Abby Holloway Series
Muggleborn Witches Series - COMPLETED
Lightning Sister Saga
Phoebe Blackheart - COMPLETED
If you don't review, I won't write. If I don't write, you won't review. If no one writes, then writers will cry because they think no one on Fanfiction likes their stories. If you think people should review after they read, copy and paste this on your profile.
