![]() Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park. I originally started this Profile mostly to review stories and not show up as a guest reviewer. Since then I have started writing my own stories all from the Harry Potter universe, I have been obsessed with the magical world since I first read H.P and the Sorcerer's stone when I was eleven. I recently published two Harry Potter/Jurassic Park crossovers in August 2022. There aren't a lot of stories in this particular crossover so I figured I would give it a try. I set up an Ao3 profile on 1/10/2022 and moved all of my work over there, my user name is the same there, Slytherin7Piece. I like most stories that I've read but a certain few are out there that I have absolutely hated, such stories are the reason I set up this page. I started reading fanfiction in 2016 and got hooked on the Harry grows a backbone fics, those are the stories I usually read when I'm not writing. Though I have developed a liking for post-war fics lately, they're more laid back and relaxing to read and often involve Harry as a professional Quidditch player which is always fun. Dislikes I don't like excessive exposition in a story, like endless recaps of things we already know or repeating a long convoluted explanation every chapter when new characters are brought in. We all read the books we already know Harry's canon back story! I don't like reading a story that someone has copied and pasted from the books and just changed minor details to pad their word count, it's just lazy and boring to read. I started reading fanfiction because I've read the original books dozens of times and wanted something new in the H.P universe. I don't like slash, it's nothing against the lifestyle or anything but I don't want to read about it. I don't like the way Harry was written as a doormat and the adults in the Book were useless. Of course, if I hadn't read my first Harry grows a spine fic I probably wouldn't have a problem with it I've also decided that I don't like the phrases "Saving people Thing", "Brightest Witch of her Age" and finally the most exaggerated sentence that Harry utters in at least 75% of the fanfic I've read, "I'm fine," said quietly while looking at his lap/ or his shoes or something along those lines in embarrassment. Favorite Pairings Harry/Daphne Harry/Tonks Harry/Susan Harry/Fleur Harry/Bellatrix Harry/Luna. Pairings that no one does very often, such as Harry paired with any of the following: Katie Bell, Pansy Parkinson, Lavender Brown, Tracey Davis, Lily Moon, Astoria Greengrass, Andromeda Tonks, Penelope Clearwater, Hannah Abbott, Megan Jones and so on. Pairings I Don't Care For Harry/Ginny- I just never thought they had enough in common in the books and it always felt like they were paired in canon more out of convenience than anything else. Though I have read stories with this pairing that I have really enjoyed. Harry/Hermione- I like Hermione as a character (well except in book six and parts of book seven) but I never liked her paired with Harry because most of the time she comes off as a nag or Harry comes off as henpecked. Harry /Cho- I just don't like Cho Chang period. She comes off as a horrible person in the books and Harry should have never messed with her in book five. Ron/Hermione- This pairing made even less sense than Harry and Ginny. He was absolutely horrible to her in every book at one time or another. Once they got married they were bound to have problems, either Ron would get drunk and beat her or Hermione would pull a Lorena Bobbit and then run off with a tennis instructor. Personally, I think Ron should have been paired with a mountain troll or a blast-ended skrewt. Draco/Hermione- Same reason as the Ron pairing. Draco was a real jerk to her throughout the entire series but at least he had a good excuse, he was a bigoted jerk. I HAVE PULLED MOST OF MY ONGOING STORIES AS OF 11/22/2022, YOU CAN STILL READ THEM ON MY AO3 PROFILE. If you're going to be a jerk in the reviews I would refer you to chapter eleven of Harry's had enough. |
