Author has written 10 stories for Harry Potter, and Doctor Who. Hi. I like writing though I rarely get time these days. UPDATE August 09: It has been so long since I updated any of my stories. I'm still alive and writing, I have a lot of little ficlets and odd stuff around. Will try to upload them as soon as I can. August 08: Things are busy at my end - hardly get time to do anything but work. Will ease up by the end of August, and then I'm going on vacation. Will be taking my laptop along but not sure if the island I'm going to has good internet access. On another note, just saw the Dark Knight! Was amazing! May 08: As promised, I have resurrected myself somewhat. March 08: I haven't given up on any of my stories, just nearing exams and devoting time to studies. I write as and when I can, and whichever story takes my mind, so do not worry if I seem to stop updating one particular story for a while. I have a roadmap for all my stories, so they should be completed sooner or later. But for those who want specific dates, April-May will see a drastic reduction in Chapters (not a complete shutdown, I assure you, I do need to put my mind out of work while still forcing myself to remain in the library) and mid-May and June will see a surge. July-Sept will be hard due to my internship, but after that, it should become a fairly even pace like when I began in Jan-Feb (1-2 chapters a week). Finished Stories The Last Song - In this, the world of Harry Potter and the world of King Arthur collide in a really fascinating way, facilitated by the Tenth and First Doctor (Dr. Who). I finished this in literally 2-3 goes. The words, the plot, the story, just flowed. I like it quite a lot, especially the emotional changes in Harry. I would rate it as my best bit of fanfiction personally. The Greatest Trial - For those of you who read it and find it somewhat incomplete, there is more to come but as sequels. This is a trial which takes place after Harry Potter has been executed. The Minister of Magic is unconvinced of Harry Potter's guilt and decided to reopen a forgotten can of worms. The characterization of Alan Wiltschild, who fights for Harry's defense, is loosely based on Alan Shore from Boston Legal. Current Stories Harry Potter and the Sigil of Power - This is a standard Harry goes back in time plot. I started this to get a hang on writing as before this I've only ever written poetry or essays. I do intend to complete it but it serves more as a remedy while suffering from plot blocks in other stories. That said, I kind of like particular parts of it. Rise of a Dark Prince - A semi dark fiction where Harry is neglected as a child and when the opportunity comes, accepts Voldemort's offer to become his apprentice. In this story, I try to portray Voldemort as a ruthless visionary than a lunatic and narcissist killing machine. I like some of the interactions between the Dark Lord and Mort (Harry). This story is currently my least favorite to devote my time to, but I will, I promise, finish it. Mage and Warrior - Clearly, the most successful of my story. I'm planning to make this into a true epic. Something like, The Blackwolf Chronicles... with Mage and Warrior being Book 1, of a trilogy. This is still tentative and plans may change but that's highly unlikely as I have written some of the later chapters already. However, for those of you who really like this story, I will put up some bits of the later chapters that I have already written until you wait for the next chapter in chronological order. With Roses Be Dight - This is planned to be a short preHogwarts story with ample opportunity for sequels. The story surrounds several characters and their struggles after Voldemort is defeated by baby Harry. It features kidnapped Harry, Potters raising Neville, Lily singing, Harry with a unique ability, Astoria Greengrass, redeemed Lucius Malfoy, a unicorn named Dia and Tom Bombadil. Perhaps my most well-written story so far. Planned Stories Lord of the Rings Crossover - I am not abandoning this completely but shunting it aside as it just doesn't seem nice to me anymore. Perhaps someday I might write it. Three (title subject to change) - It's an idea I had and I scribbled chapter notes for the story. Basically, instead of Harry, Lily gives birth to triplets - Harold, Harrison and Harley, who get separated after an accident in Privet Drive, each going to a different magical school under a new identity. The story traces their development, good and bad, until they meet during the Triwizard Tournament. I doubt I'll be starting this until most of my current stories are finished. The Phoenix Proclamation - This is an ambitious story as well, and I won't be posting it until I've finished the others and can devote enough time to it. Muggles involved in wrong bwl plot with three different items as the Deathly Hallows, and the Phoenix Proclamation of 1693 that raised the barriers of secrecy. Influences Other fanfiction - Take a look at my favorites. Those are some of the stories that have influenced my writing, though the list isn't exhaustive. I will keep updating it as and when I find all the other stories. Harry Potter and the Four Realms by Daphne Li is my most favorite and it really disappoints me that she didn't finish it. Other fantasy fiction - Obviously Rowling, but Raymond E Feist, Tolkien, George RR Martin, Bernard Cromwell, Robin Hobb and any book dealing with Arthurian Legend have had much greater impact in my writing than Rowling herself. It shouldn't surprise any of you to find elements of their writing style in some of my stories. One of my biggest disappointment is Raymond E Feist not permitting fanfiction on his work, as I would have loved to combine Midkemia and Harry Potter. |
