Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter.
It has been around two years since I last updated my profile. Now, at 18 years old, I have been hard at work not only with writing stories, but with my school work. Four years and eight AP courses later, I've graduated high school and am ready to take the next leap in life: COLLEGE.
In case you don't know, my name is Lauren. I love absolutely everything Harry Potter. You'll find that most of the stories I have "favorited" - and all that I have written thus far - deal with Tom Marvolo Riddle. Better known as Lord Voldemort, or You-Know-Who to you cowards ;). He is utterly fascinating. Engrossing. Terrifying. And yet, although HBP has many of his memories, with the aim to teach us about his Lordship, encapsulated within its binding, we do not know a whole helluva lot about this man. What makes him tick? What made him so - there's no other word for it - evil? While Rita Skeeter may believe that "Everyone loves a rebel," the truth is, everyone loves the villain. Without the villain, there is no moral conflict. Without the villain, there is no struggle. In essence, without the villain, there is no story. The funny thing about it is that not many even care about the villain's back-story, when he/she is absolutely INTEGRAL to the plot! And that, my friends, is why I am so fascinated by him.
Now that I've gone and given you some information on my writings/likes/loves, I guess I can tell you a bit more about myself:
I love to read.
I love to write.
I love animals, hoping to eventually gain a Ph D. in Animal Behavior.
I love the rush of adrenaline I get upon seeing history up-close and personal.
I love my friends.
I love the lessons that life has taught me thus far.
I love knowledge in every form.
I love classic rock.
I love comfy socks.
I love sitting up late at night and waiting for that moment when the world finally goes still for a single second.
I love pulling all-nighters just to finish reading a book.
And, of course, I love the feeling of satisfaction that a review of something I have written gives me.
Anyway, below you will find a record of little snippets of the process of my writing Monster: The Story of Tom Marvolo Riddle that I leave as I work on it chapter-by-chapter. Updates are slow - as it is, it has been a year since I last wrote a chapter for it - yet I hope you'll find that the waits are worth it. Getting in Tom's head is not easy; in fact, it's utterly exhausting. I hope that, should you choose to read it, you leave a little note about your thoughts, even if it's just to say that I used a word wrong. Everything - and I mean everything! - helps to make me a better writer. I hope you can bear with me as I attempt to do true justice to My Lord's story XD.
Happy reading! Cheers!
X Ever Yours, Lauren Nicole

Just so you all know, June 27-30 I am going to be in New York, so there will not be any updates. In addition to this, I'm going to be away from July 5th to the 26th for an internship at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, where I will NOT have any way to update my story =. However, I will be writing, so once I get back from BOTH trips there WILL be an update, never fear. And to all those who have commented on my story thus far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart - your reviews mean so much to me, and while I am a tad bit bummed that I haven't got a whole lot, the ones that I have received are near and dear to me. Hope you're enjoying your summer! Cheers!

This week I will be updating Monster: The Story of Tom Marvolo Riddle for the last time until I come back from Utah. I made it especially long, so hopefully it will hold you over until I return. I will be writing while I'm away, I know I already said that, but I figured I'd just refresh everyone's memory. I hope you enjoy it, and don't forget to read the A/N's included in both the beginning AND the end; they're very important. Anyways, enjoy the story and your summer! Cheers!

Well, I just got home from my three week trip last night, it was loads and loads of fun! Unfortunately, I had no time to work on my story, so it could very well be another week before I update once more. I didn't receive any reviews, but this is fine, it isn't why I'm writing the story. My only concern is that the update-email didn't send out, so I'll see what I can do about that... Hope everyone's summer is going great!

Finally! An update for you all! Thanks tropical storm Fay for postponing school another day so I could get this chapter out there! It's not as long as Chapter Four, but it's still a pretty decent length. Tomorrow I start school - boo! - and I'm not sure when I'll get another chance to write, so stay tuned. I took down the Author's Note and replaced it with Chapter Five.. Thanks so much to those of you who have chosen to review! I really enjoy them! Hope the rest of you have a great summer. Cheers!

I have NOT forgotten my story!! I swear! I've just been extremely swamped in all of my classes, with barely any time to give the story the attention it deserves, nevermind have the time to even attempt to do so. I am working on it, I'm finishing writing the chapter in my notebook today, tomorrow at the latest, and I will have it up this weekend. I am still alive! I am still around! Please don't be horribly angry, those of you who are following the story. Please don't give up on it. I'm really really trying.

I know that I said I would update the story over Thanksgiving, but I was having a few issues. No one told me what they desired of the continuation of the story, and as such, I have been unable to get it to work. I keep writing and then scratching everything out, because none of it seems right. I know where it is to go; I know the outcome. I just can't seem to figure out how to get there. Do I skip over his early years at Hogwarts? Do I include them? If I include them, are they full chapters or snippets, highlights of the more important parts? A dilemma if there ever was one. Bright side: My birthday is in 11 days! Woop! Hopefully by then it'll make a bit more sense... and maybe you'll all have another chapter.
Whether or not I have people reading this, I do not know, but I'll keep on updating here on the progress of the story, in case people are looking for it. I'm almost done with Chapter Seven after many - and I mean MANY - revisions and scrapping and who knows what else. I'm shooting for having it up by... Thursday? The 11th of December? Friday is my birthday - yay! Seventeen! - so hopefully I can get this up, as an early birthday present from me to you all. :D I hope all is well with my readers, and that I haven't lost any of you in between the waits! Cheers everyone! Break is SO soon!

Wow. Very, very long time since I updated. I'm so sorry. Life has been a real mess lately with some family health problems and trying to keep up with my classes. I have NOT forgotten Tom Riddle. Ever. It wasn't until today that I was even really able to work on that chapter. Hopefully it'll be up by next week, this Sunday, if we're lucky. Hope everyone's 2009 has been going well...

Obviously I didn't update when I said I would. However, I'm letting you all know that I finished writing the chapter in my notebook today - it's 14 pages front-to-back, and would be longer, but I decided to make Year Six its own chapter. In chapter eight you will be getting various experiences that Tom has had from Year Two to Year Five. It's pretty cool, I think. Because I decided to make Year Six its own chappie, it should be out within a week of publishing chapter eight, but I make no promises nor guarantees about that fact. Anyway, I hope everyone's been well! Here's to finally publishing a chapter... Cheers!

First question to be answered: is it just that he's (Tom) averse to feeling affection towards someone, or is he actually not physically attracted to women?
