3 AU diverging from after Chuck vs. the other guy. People have been asking me for a darker one so here is my attempt. Gonna be rough one

AU premise: What if Sarah left with Bryce in Season 1? All else being equal, Sarah's fearful decision carves a path of destruction through both her and Chuck's lives. At mutual rock bottom, they meet again in Rome, three years later, two damned souls living in their own private hell. How strong is love? Chuck and Sarah will find out.

A/U story. What if Chuck and Sarah were a couple from the very beginning? How would that change the evolution of the stories? Here's my take on answering those questions. This story is, internally, broken up into arcs which (sort of, mostly) conform to episodes of the show. There's a rough table of contents on my profile page. Reading them in order is suggested.

Two years after Sarah helps Bryce Larkin send Chuck Bartowksi the Intersect, she and Bryce were captured in Mexico by a drug lord. Bryce was killed and Sarah was used for sex trafficking. After three months in captivity, she wishes for death. Chuck rescues her. What they learn about each other as she recuperates both in body and soul draws them together. Can they overcome the past?

Canon divergent after the penultimate scene in Bullet Train. Chuck never finds Sarah. Ten months hence, he believes she is dead. This is Chuck beyond his breaking point, a Chuck gone dark after the light in his life has been extinguished. A quest for justice, for vengeance, gradually becomes a search for the truth. The ultimate truth that proves to be the only hope for salvation.

What if Chuck and Sarah met before any kind of beauty makeover for Sarah? Would Chuck have still been as attracted to her? Would Sarah have been different emotionally? This AU story wonders if they would have still had the same impact on each other if their lives intersected in a different way.

The installer does not realize that his new job is fake, an extended sperm-donor audition.

AU. The CIA found a way to remove the Intersect from Chuck just before the Beta-Intersect was scheduled to go on line. Team Bartowski was wound down organically and everyone went their separate ways. Five years later, two members of the team meet unexpectedly in Afghanistan.

Prague (S3). Chuck intends to continue his training instead of running with Sarah. But things take an unexpected turn on the platform. The story begins in canon and then switches tracks.

After her mother is killed, Roan Montgomery ends up with custody of a thirteen-year-old daughter he knew nothing about. Called away on a brief but urgent mission, Roan leaves the girl, Kat, in Burbank with Sarah — and Chuck is supposed to be Sarah's 'parental' back-up. — One problem: Kat knows they are all spies, but they don't know that.

Colt captured and the Cipher reclaimed! Chuck's life is about to return to normal… or, as Sarah fears, be cut short, by Casey no less. Can she protect Chuck and make sense of her feelings for him? Will Casey carry out his "exit strategy" termination orders? Canon until near the end of S2:E1 "Chuck vs the First Date," where this story starts. (Drama; Humor; Charah)

The CIA approaches Chuck to work with them while he's at Stanford. He spurns their offer and his life changes.

S2: ending of the final episode changes: Sarah leaves for DC with Bryce, leaving Chuck in LA. In DC, missing Chuck, Sarah works with Bryce, Beckman, and Orion on the Intersect Project. The first acceptable candidate for the Intersect is Daniel Shaw. Sarah is to be Shaw's partner. But Chuck disappears and everything goes technicolor pear-shaped.

1965. Sarah Walker works as a detective in one of Chicago's and the world's finest hotels, The Palmer House. She finds skullduggery afoot in the hallways. That would be bad enough — but she also meets a man who intrigues her, and her heart decides it has a mind of its own.

What if one unforeseeable event changes everything? A tale of what might have been.

Working as the waitress and now owner of her late mother's diner, Sarah struggles to keep her mother's dream alive and her remaining family together.

An assassin is tasked to terminate a hacker. Will the assassin's record remain perfect?

Short Story. S3-ish. Casey's pissed about Team Bartowski and the emotional stalemate between Chuck and Sarah. He decides to do some Christmas match-making, Casey-style. But to do it, he needs to get Shaw out of the way, and Chuck and Sarah together. Can he pull it all off in a day?

Post-Budapest, Sarah Walker quits the CIA. She moves to LA to start again. A chance encounter leads to her becoming Chuck Bartowski's dating coach. Will she allow herself to become lost in the man she is coaching to win another woman?

AU novella. Dialogue in Limbo. Chuck Bartowski downloads the Intersect and becomes a prisoner in the same night. Is the stranger in the facing cell a friend or a foe? How can he tell in the darkness?

Post-Finale. The eve of big changes for Chuck.

What if the Intersect had been...different? What if its negative effects had been much more immediate, plaguing Chuck from the get-go? A reconception of the show.

AU novella. An advice columnist happens upon an arresting stranger, resulting in dangerous feelings, confusions, and errors. A romantic dramedy.

Murder. That is what it was. Some say confession is good for the soul. But whose soul is it good for? Two chapter story.

Bryce 'invites' Sarah to 'Omaha'. Panicked by her kiss with Chuck, Sarah goes, leaving Chuck and Casey behind in Burbank. While Sarah labors with remorse, Chuck faces the rigors of a new handler, Casey guards Chuck's ladyfeelings, Graham and Beckman war to control the Intersect, and Fulcrum gains ground. Everything's in disarray. What happens next?

What if Chuck had met Sarah in more unpleasant circumstances? We meet Chuck in 2004, life hasn't got any better for him since he got expelled from Stanford. He got caught hacking and was coerced into working for the NSA as an analyst.

What if Quinn's obstruction of Sarah's memories had been more complete than he intended? What if he had suppressed not just her five years in Burbank, but her identity? Can Sarah uncover herself again, discover her husband again, recover her life again? Even against new foes? Canon until the decoupling of the Bullet Train. —A different take on the ending of the show.

What would have happened if things had gone a different way? The way a certain General had planned?

A relationship, a cover relationship, a cover-cover relationship-and then a new partnership. An AU story that parallels canon up until *Nemesis*, but turns it inside-out: The Intersect is fake: meant to lure out Fulcrum, and to test Sarah Walker's loyalties. Chuck and Sarah meet for the first time as professors at a Florida college. They are in their mid-thirties. Will their pasts and the complications of their present keep them apart, despite their mutual attraction? A rom-spy-dramedy.

What if Sarah had not shut down after the Incident, the kiss in *Imported Hard Salami*? What if Chuck had decided to go all Piranha on the Intersect? Assume the canon up until the kiss and the conversation immediately after it. Things go very much their own way after that.

Unexpected paths suddenly open up. What will they find at the end of them?

End of Season Two. Sarah leaves with Bryce right after the wedding. Chuck is left to pick up the pieces of his life. What next, for Chuck and Sarah?

1x14: With Valentine's Day approaching, Chuck decides Sarah's tears on the helipad might indicate a change of heart about the two of them dating for real. But work gets in the way in a new, and possibly permanent, fashion.

1x11b: On New Year's Day, Chuck contemplates his resolutions. But a group blunder on a simple mission has complex consequences for Team Chuck, leading each member down a road he didn't expect to travel. Sequel to "Chuck vs Auld Lang Syne".

1x11a: After the Buy More "Holiday Party", Team Chuck is looking forward to some R&R. But an acquaintance from days gone by sends Chuck a Christmas card, triggering a series of events that makes their holidays a stressful time for all concerned..

Sequel to 'Chuck vs. His Reality.' Afraid that Sarah and Casey have been assigned to kill him, Chuck has run away. Sarah must battle her heart and the Intersect to find Chuck before its too late.
