I love fandom videos too, and I am of the view that JKR is really missing out on the Marauders.

A common trope here is manipulative!evil!dumbledore, and honestly, it doesn't make sense at all, because, in case I need to remind you all, Dumbledore was about to cry when Harry said that he was "Dumbledore's man through and through". Besides, for the first 4 books, Dumbledore was this god-ish person, and the 5th, 6th, and 7th books show that he was actually a human person, you know. Sirius and Harry were two of the best characters ever written by JKR, and they deserved a lot better than the raw deal that they got in the book.

Fudge is an incompetent, imbecile of a minister, and should have resigned when he was elected for sheer incompetence. Umbridge is a sadistic...bitch, and should be thrown through the veil. Voldemort can go screw himself, and shouldn't mess with Harry Potter's life. Percy Weasley, is fine, I suppose, but honestly, I mean, he turned his back on his FAMILY, honestly, but then he came back, so, I suppose that counts for something.

Look, give me a good redemption fic and I’m in! You want to write about Severus realizing he was a dick to a child who never did anything to him? Okay. You want to write about Draco realizing how wrong his beliefs are when forced to see the horrors of the war? Go for it!

All that's brilliant and stuff, but the problem is, this isn’t about giving redemption to characters and letting them admit the past mistakes. This is about making them, as they are, “beautiful, misunderstood angels who never did anything wrong”. The characters around them are twisted into mockery of themselves just to make them seem all the more angelic. Cue me puking. (ahgrhhhhhhhh)

Let me say something: Snape was an ASSHOLE. Fine, he loved Lily. Fine, he protected her son… That DOESN’T make him a good guy. He was a cruel man who verbally mistreated his students and was terrible to the child of his supposed “beloved Lily” just because he was also Potter’s son. Bloody Hell, grow up! Those fics often make how Lily was actually a sadistic bitch, etc. and abandoned him because she wanted to hang out with popular guys, yada, yada, yada. Some people honestly, write James as giving Lily a love potion, or use alchemy or something or just him using her as 'renewing the blood' or 'broodmare'.Please, spare the dramatics for someone who cares, and for Merlin's sake, these people need to grow the heck up! ffs, snape was not a jilted guy, he was a death eater, and those guys can be classified as magical nazis. Idiots. People will know which author I am talking about...

1) James and Sirius were spoilt brats, I'll be the first person to admit it. But you are forgetting that these two GREW UP. Lily didn't go out with James until he grew up. James defended his family without a wand. James became an animagus for his friend, when he knew he could be sent to Azkaban. Sirius told Hagrid to give Harry to him, saying "Give Harry to me Hagrid, I'm his godfather, I'll look after him." When Hagrid refused, it was then Sirius went after Peter. So, you CANNOT say Sirius didn't care about Harry. Sirius spent 12 years in Azkaban for a crime he DID NOT commit, was framed by his friend, was shunned, his remaining friend thought him a traitor and then Sirius had to hide, and get killed by his bitch of a cousin.

2) Snape may have risked anything, but one thing I refuse to believe is that he did not call Lily a mudblood on purpose. He could have used anything, from 'bitch' to 'moron' to idiot'. But he used Mudblood, didn't he? He belittled Petunia, he passed off what Mulciber did to Mary McDonald as a laugh, (Remember Mulciber was great at casting imperius, as told by Karkaroff), told Voldemort to spare Lily, even if it meant James and Harry got killed. He may have asked Dumbledore to hide them, fine but only when Dumbledore told him how disgusted he was with him. I believe the exact words wer "You disgust me. You would not care for the life of her son and husband as long as you get what you want?"
3) He put his memories in the pensieve so Harry would watch them. I mean, we see Dumbledore store his in vials, but Snape can't do that? He is a master Occlumens, and he has to put his memories in a pensieve?

I wrote all of this in reply to someone who asked me why I hate Snape. Seriously, guys, just think, you'll realise this.
