Elizabeth and Darcy are compromised at the Netherfield Ball, but luckily were able to clear up one understanding. Can he get past his prejudice against her family? Can she get past the prejudice from his?

When Mr. Bingley first goes to Netherfield, he also brings Sir Richard Fitzwilliam, a retired Colonel. Sir Richard is attracted to Elizabeth, who is flattered by his attentions.

A compromise at the Netherfield Ball leaves Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet stuck with each other 'til death us do part'. This story is pretty high angst, with some interesting angles, an unusual style and unusual pairings (E&D of course, but otherwise all bets are off).

Elizabeth is slightly more perspicuous and thoughtful, and does not fall for Wickham's story, leading to an earlier resolution to a attachment to Darcy. Mrs. Gardiner also plays an expanded role.
