I love anime especially yaoi...

Oh God its been ages since I last updated my profile, i mean its not as if anyone is really looking, but you know just in case.

I'm still very much a yaoi fan, and still very much a speed reader. The latter is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to reading fanfictions. Although it has definitely helped me in English( not to mention history wink wink for those in the know). I'm also in College, and i'm majoring in international studies so I can help kids in the future. Anyways for my likes and dislike regarding stories:

I'm generally for reading any type of fanfiction with a general preference for romance. The only reason there aren't more types in my favorite authors/stories is because for the longest time the login screen and I had an argument regarding whether or not I was actually logged in. However there are times when I'm barely able to plow through the story.

Examples:

1. Poor grammar and writing (as in misspelling common words or a huge condensed block of writing)(the exception being for those whose first language isn't English)
2. Mary Sue's and overused cliches, it can be really easy to stray into that territory( the exceptions are when its used in great effect)
3. Giving away tons of background info in one sitting (its slightly more okay for short stories not so much for long)
4. Stories that read like a script or first person stories ( I've come across exceptions but only rarely)
5. Writing the story very poorly, as in :he sat she sat they made out he said she said: and doing that over and over instead of mixing it up a bit.
6. Characters that are not believable or are just have terrible characterization and jump to conclusions all the time.
7. Very cheesy moments all the time in a work that is not parody/family/things that go in that category.
8. Terrible portrayal of sex scenes and forcing values down the readers throat.

Other than that there are very few stories I won't read, although there are times when I go on binges where I read stories from only one fandom. I also am sort of choosy as to what I favorite. I favorite a story/author only if I'm both interested in rereading the story and seeing more of the author's progress in becoming a writer. You might notice I have more gay than straight pairing stories on here, but that's more of an issue of number 2 and 8.
