Author has written 33 stories for Torchwood, and Doctor Who.
First of all thanks, because if you're reading this page you either liked one of my fics and wanted to know more about the strange person who wrote it or you clicked my name by accident! Either way I appreciate the time and effort taken.
Second of all, important question... if mum becomes mummy, and dad becomes daddy what does Tad become? Taddy? Help please! Its for research purposes cos I'm working on a story (hehe, I sound like a reporter of some sort, anyway...) set when Tanwen was younger and I don't want to make it stupid by having her call Ianto Taddy if that's not the right term... PM me if you have any advice please.
So, I'm a lassie (that means girl, by the way, not a dog) from Scotland. I am ridiculosly obsessed with Doctor Who and Torchwood, (no seriously, I fell off my chair a little bit during the Stolen Earth) And my proudest moment is when I begame completely starstruck when I met John Barrowman and rambled nonsense. If by some mad act of randomness and luck John Barrowman is infact reading this I want to apologise for the silliness I uttered (I was the girl in the poor imitation of Captain Jack's coat in Borders in Glasgow, saying that, there were tons of girls in greatcoats there so that probably doesn't help much.)
I also like Smallville, Pushing Daisies, Heroes, Indiana Jones and Formula 1 (although I don't think you can really write fics on the last one)
I am a devout Janto shipper, and I used to hate Gwen, but after watching Children of Earth I like her a lot more. Because I think in that she was the character she was always meant to be and there wasnt any stupid flirting with Jack.
I also have my own little AU running, 'Children of Torchwood' (which is of course shamelessly inspired by Torchwood series 3 Children of Earth, can't wait for that by the way!) it features Jack and Ianto's children Tanwen, Roan and Dayton. So far it includes:
1. I Wasn't Expecting That
2. Photographs and Memories
3. Life of a Torchwood Child
4. Fallen Soldiers
5. Silly Traditions
7. Red and Black
(Also Dayton is mentioned briefly in The Girl From the Rift but it doesn't count as much)
Granted I tend to deviate from alien-ness in these fics most of the time, they tend to be more about how Jack and Ianto would react around Torchwood if they had a family. And, also granted, I have loads of OCs in these fics.
The kids obviously: Tanwen, Roan and Dayton Harkness-Jones
The other Torchwood members: Dan Alexander (Tech), Dr Cassie Taylor (Medical) and Ioan McMahon (General Field) who is also dating Tanwen.
UNIT members: Colonel Andrew Hopkins (Local UNIT commander, hated by Torchwood) and Private Noah Connell (Dating Dayton and he helps out on missions. Red and Black explains this)
I've finished this series now because even though I have a bunch of unfinished stories on my hard drive I can't finish them now. Basically I was writing for an AU which might=possibly-if-you-squinted-alot-might-have existed. And with Ianto's death in Children of Earth now it never can. And I can't get any inspiration for that.
The 10th Doctor, Jack and Ianto (as well as their respecting actors) are just amazingly hot and should never regenerate/dissapear/die. Unfortunately Ianto has and the Doctor will. And yeah, I cried for three days, was depressed for about a week and couldn't look at coffee for ages. But no, I don't want him back. If Ianto does come back it should be in flashbacks or memories and loads and loads of refrences. Not a reset button or anything. Because that would completely devalue Gareth David-Lloyd wondeful performance in Day 4 and make the story laughable. So no. No Bring Back Ianto. If however like me, you want to show how much you cared for the character and want to do this in a positive and rational way donate to which is raising money for Children in Need in the memory of Ianto Jones. Which is great and brilliant and in no way stupid, because soon all Ianto will be remembered for is fans who sent coffee and went nuts. Not good!
And I cannot wait for Christman because Doctor Who is back! And I'm gonna be a teary wreck. However I'm looking forward to Matt Smith, because I think he'll be quite good. I have a good vibe about the guy!
Martha is my favourite companion (although I'm loving Donna) and I don't see why the Doctor is in love with Rose compared to Martha. I have, however, accepted that he does. (I was also crying at the reunion, I think a pattern may be developing)
It used to say here that I don't think Jack is the Face of Boe. Note the use of used... when I rewatched Gridlock and the Face of Boe died, I didn't say "Awww, poor Boe" I actually said "Awww, poor Jack" so I guess that in reality I do think he is the Face of Boe.
I am inclined to use the word 'random' way too often, and frequently commit sins to the english language by adding -ness to the end of most words. Unfortunately you will just have to accept this as it's not changing, although I am trying desperately to keep this habit from my fics. I also annoy the pants off everyone because if the phrase "Fire at will" is every used anywhere I am forced to reply to the person/character "Poor Will!"
All my fics seem to be about Jack and Ianto, as I just adore them, and they're always fluffy, as I never want anything bad to happen to them... ever! Even my attempts at angsty fics always end up fluffy.
A lot of things in my life can be divided into two categories. Good things a.k.a Warm Fuzzies and bad things a.k.a Big Scaries. There are of course grey areas, but they make my head hurt so I choose to ignore a lot of them. Reviews give warm-fuzzies, by the way.
So, if you aren't bored to tears by my ramblings, enjoy the rest of the fics. And I love reviews; again they create warm-fuzzies!
