Author has written 3 stories for Twilight.
Hmmmm, okay I've always hated fanfictions. I thought they were a waste of time because they weren't canon. Then I read Twilight, and now they're the only things that can keep me content until the new book comes out. Well, I found out I writing the fanfics is also fun too. I love to write and fanfictions are good practice or exercise or whatever. Lol, I guess I hated fanfics in the first place because I didn't like to read. I use to read so much when I was little, I loved reading my family's encyclopedia set. Then I moved and I guess I forgot how much fun reading was. With books like To Kill a Mockingbird and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest forced upon me at school, can you blame me? No offense to those who like those books. They are classics and I'd be insane to say they weren't good, but they are dated.
My definition of good writing is a story that reaches out to all the people of that time. So obviously, I think good writing changes every couple of decades. Shakespeare wrote masterpieces, but most people of this time can't relate to his work anymore. People use "his" ideas however and incorporate those themes into modern works. Thus circulating the fashion of good books. A book can be simple and be better than other complex readings. It doesn't matter how much the writer knows and whether he shows that in his writing. It's about the people who read it and whether or not they can grasp the material.
I'm just ranting. I guess reading for leisure and reading for school can't always hold the same meaning.
About my writing habits, sometimes there is a great influx of stories and sometimes there is a break. Sure I feel bad that sometimes I don't update as often as I should, but that just means that I'm not really motivated to write, I could but it just takes so much energy. I think the best analogy for it is going down the rabbit hole. When I write it is like going down to wonderland, going off into another place. It's fun, but takes effort.
Anyways, I want to major in creative writing, and I can never think about things to write about myself when prompted. Oh well. :
I hate round foods (they roll off the plate way too easily)
I am afraid of whales
I am afraid of wild mushrooms (don't ask)
I think washing dishes is relaxing, but I never do it cause I'm lazy and as if I need any help relaxing.
Books you MUST read.
anything by Sarah Dessen
anything by Amelia Atwater Rhodes. HAWKSONG and SHATTERED MIRROR are my favorites.
