I've started writing this before the final episode. After the last episode's preview, I knew that Elizabeth will choose Lucas. So... this story came to me, and I couldn't get it out of my head. Nathan and Allie deserve to be happy and I want to give them that. Faith left with Carson, so Hope Valley doesn't have a doctor for a while, until... :)

Like many others, I was disappointed in the When Calls the Heart Season 8 finale… so I've rewritten it based on my original expectations. If someone tells you a fictional story that breaks your heart, throw it out and write your own, I say! No disrespect at all to Team Lucas, but hopefully this brings Team Nathan some happiness.

I was inspired by Season 8 Episode 2's proposed title. What might it mean? This is what it means to me...

I really like the books as well as the show, so this is my fusion of the two. Christine Delaney, Wynn and Beth Delaney's adoptive daughter, is looking for her biological family and is led to her cousin's town Hope Valley. There she finds family, healing, and love. (I love Lucas, but this story is straight up Elizabeth/Nathan) (Also, Christine's not technically an OC, but)

After fearing she had lost Nathan to a gunshot wound, Elizabeth realizes that he is the answer to what is in her heart. This story picks up where season 7 ended.
