Author has written 7 stories for Skip Beat!, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
-As many can tell, I am a big of Ren and Kyoko (if you haven't already tell from my stories), thus for my username being reko1620 :D (re- being for the first two letters of Ren's name, ko- being for the last two letters in Kyoko's name, and 1620 is the number combined of the ages Ren and Kyoko met again after ten years of separation). Although I say I am a big fan, but in reality I am not. I like the pairing, but they just don't seem real to me (maybe Ren more, but Kyoko is too naive for my taste, but I love her spunky personality and her demons, and she does not seem to go gaka over every guy she lays eyes on, which is a typical thing for heroines to do in other mangas or anime, thus resulting why I don't read too much or watch too much anime because of the typical storylines). Ren and Kyoko are cute with both having some level of maturity (Ren more than Kyoko, but Ren is cute when he has that chibi face, haha, and does not look or act mature at all XD) and are both responsible people, so I like that about them. But somehow I get more of a cute, growing-up type of romance vibe between the two. Sure, I believe they will be together eventually, but at the moment, Kyoko looks like she is still a child (maybe she is supposed to be that way, I guess, since she is just 16 years old), and Ren looks like he is older than 20 years old (maybe like 24?) (sorry, no offense to readers or fans who think that I am being rude or saying that Ren looks old because he is not; he's hot, but his age does not look like it suits him, just my opinion). My take is that when Kyoko looks more older and maybe grow her hair out a bit, then I can see an adult Kyoko having a more heated relationship with Ren than right now. Like before, I like that they have this innocent romance (although I wouldn't say anything that Ren could do to Kyoko is innocent in Skip Beat! IMO).
-Now as for my other favorite couple (or should I say, my first and foremost favorite before Ren and Kyoko) is Azureshipping, the name for the pairing of Téa Gardner and Seto Kaiba, due to their similar eye color. One of the reasons I love this couple to death is that although Yu-Gi-Oh! does not focus too much on romance (but it does not keep us Azureshipping fans from dreaming), one has to admit that these two are a match made in heaven. They are the total opposites of each other, but like they say, "Opposites attract." Téa Gardner, or her Japanese name Anzu Mazaki, is like the light or fire, while Seto Kaiba is the dark or ice. These two don't mix well as their analogies describe them, but if they come together, you get something that is passionate, intimate, and romantic. What these two could have is what I would call a full-grown, mature, and heated romance/love relationship that is different from the innocent that Ren and Kyoko show at the moment in the manga. Many people don't like either Téa or Seto, or both. Well, I like both of them very much. I like Téa's fiery, free-spirited personality, while I like Seto's outward cold appearance, yet warm-hearted on the inside personality. People have accused of Téa being such a s--t or a "friendship-giving speech" freak that I get really offended and cannot believe some of the hatred that is toward this character. Yes, Téa dresses sometimes not fully, but being a dancer, I think she has gotten into the habit of dressing comfortably that she thinks by dressing less, she feels more free that way (although I would warn her to be careful of creeps, hehe). Téa gives friendship speeches, yes, I know that, but if people count the number of times Yugi/Yami/Pharaoh/Atem (damn, I never know which one to use to call the darker side of Yugi Motou) give that speech of "Believe in the heart of the card," then Téa's number pales in comparison, and I find Yugi/Yami's personality to be the most unlikable one, in my opinion. As for people not liking Seto, I can understand that he can be the biggest arrogant, selfish jerk in the world, but I think I like my bad boy that way. Since we all know he is not like that; sure, he has a bad ass personality, but deep down, he is very human just like any other character. So, again I am a bigger fan of Azureshipping than I am for Ren and Kyoko, even though I have written more stories for the latter.
- The most unbelievable pairing I can never support is Silentshipping, the name given for the pairing of Serenity Wheeler (Japanese name: Shizuka Jonouchi) and Seto Kaiba due to their similar quiet personality. This couple basically in the anime has no interaction whatsoever, and in the manga, it was not Serenity who saved Joey from drowning after the duel between him and Yugi/Yami. It was Seto who dropped the key into the water, and Joey set himself free. I just don't see what the hype is all about for this pairing because here you have a naive, innocent girl who is barely in high school and the coldest guy in the world. I don't know how that would work. Viewers and readers have seen on the anime that Serenity is weak and cries easily, which is not the type of girl to be pairing Seto up. I think most fangirls like this couple because of the innocent and cute love that would develop between the two, but like I said, I would much prefer an adult love relationship to a cute love. Well, that's my take on this.
September 6, 2010 - Sorry to readers for the long wait of my stories. I have been having a long writer's block (not a valid excuse, I know) and been busy with preparing for college (still not really a valid excuse because I think there really isn't any valid excuse because someone can always twist your wording around and you would get caught in the trap is what I believe anyway). Hopefully I can get some new chapters posted up by the end of next month. A little change I was thinking of doing is re-writing one of the stories, particularly in mind The Greek Princess and the Egyptian Priest (which by the way is totally going to get a new name because I feel like there isn't enough pazzazz to catch people's attention, not that I mind not getting people's attention but one of the things about also being a good writer is coming up with good titles, at least in my opinion).
