I'm a reader, not a writer. I can barely string two words together. I hated writing essays, or any other school work. I didn't start to really read a lot till my kids were toddlers. I was also without funds, so that left the library. I started reading about dragons and got hooked on Dune after watching the movie.
Try to get your kids to read early. My daughter loves to read, my 7 year old grandson reads at a grade 3-4 level. I find that getting boys to read a real pain, my sons refused. I tried buying teen books, comics, sports magazines anything to get them to read, but it didn't work.
I have been following this site since 2002, it's great. It has kept me entertained for many hours. People who write have great imaginations. I have found that what we think is bad grammer could also be someone that has a different first language. European languages have different syntax's.
I recently tried to learn french, I couldn't do it. My mind kept trying to change it back to english.
So be kind in your reviews. To all the writers out there, be brave, and ignore the idiots!
Thank god for the internet, I used to own over 600 paperback and hardcover books, when I lived with my son and had to move in with my daughter, my books were all ruined because my son's basement had a flood and I lost all of them. I can't remember all of the titles and author's, but I have most of my favourites on my IPOD now.
If you are obsessed with fanfiction copy this into your profile
If you haven't died yet, copy and paste this onto your profile
I have been reading a lot of HP/Twilight stories lately, and one of them had the Cullen's eating Bloodpops. I thought what about something along the lines of "gushers", 1/2 cup of blood in a gel cap and shrink it down to candy size and cover it with candy. So if you would like to use my idea, let me know and I would like to read your story.
I have been re-reading Did you know? and the part where Dumbledore uses Legilimancy on Arndstrom, I thought it would be neat to put wire mesh glasses on so that it would break up his vision and not be able to stare into other peoples eyes.

I love "Codex Reader" for Android!! I can get stories from Fanfiction.net, AO3 or Fiction Press. But my favourite part is I can download my stories and read them or export them as epub and I used to use "Cool Reader" to read or listen to it on my phone, I now use "FBReader". I love to listen to them instead, because I get to hear my stories while I drive and I also listen to my stories while I try to fall asleep. Most times, I upload the epub to "Box.net" and then download them to my IPOD and use VBooks EPub to listen to my stories, that way when I get a call, my story dosen't stop playing.
(WARNING: Don't put your phone under your pillow, it heats up and can cause a fire!!)
PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR STORIES BEFORE POSTING. I listen to your stories on my IPOD and sometimes it drives me crazy when I have to listen to alot of Non-Essential words or symbols. There are times it takes up 2 pages. You can activate "Speach" in your MS WORD. I did it so that I can listen to stories while I knit for my grandchildren.
Also listening to the stories will definitely point out grammatical or spelling errors, because your brain will go "HUH" that didn't sound right.
Also, Dr. is read as Doctor and St. is read as Street. DE is read as Deleware.
Try listening to this:

Thank you for listening to my ramblings. Love your stories!
How to make you WORD .doc's into epubs.
1. Write your story in MS Word. That way you can use the dictionary. Make sure you save it as a Word 97-2003 .doc
2. The first page is only for the Title of the story.
For chapters headings make sure to use "Headers" format this will make sure that the chapter header shows in the .epub
Also add a pagebreak at the end of each chapter.
For the body text make sure that the text is using the "Normal" format, so if you make a change in the body (right click on the "Modify" button to change the text) of the text it will change all of it at one time.
3. Go to File
The reason is after you have finished your story and everything is just as you want it, and everything is saved and just in case, backed up, close it. Now use "Stanza" pc app to open it. Right click on the file and go to "Open with..." and select "Stanza.exe"
4. In "Stanza" go to "File" then go to "Export file as..." and select .epub, you will get the save box and select the destination you want your epub to be saved in.
5. You can now put it on your device directly or upload it to "Box.net" or "Dropbox" or "icloud" or whichever place you like to download your doc's from to your phone, table or Ipod.
Let me know if you use the method or if you have any troubles. I hope this was informative.
