“There are times in life when you come across a dry spell for creativity. Like a bad drought, it can last for years, but even the rain finds its way to a dried wasteland and turns it to green fields once more.”
UPDATE: 03/06/2014 Moving has finished, I have internet once again- yet life is throwing me a rather large, rather sour lemon right now. I will be trying to post again though: asap!
As the quote states above, there can always be a dry spell for creativity and sometimes it can hit you more often than not. Writer’s block is a problem that I battle more than I wish to admit, but inspiration always comes back to me eventually. That’s why I write here: it kicks my mind back into gear.
I’m M.L. Groves and it’s a dream of mine to write books. Not just books for pleasure, but books that can be published and read by anyone who wishes to read them. A few of my stories on here may not be novel worthy in skill by any means, some are old, but it’s my hope that it will help me to find a style all my own.
A few pointers towards my stories: I will edit them, but I miss things, so there may be mistakes here and there. Every now and then I may go back through chapters and fix them up, but only when I find the time to do so. Furthermore, I can sometimes be slow to update. However, I’m currently setting myself a goal to write and update one chapter a week. Depending on my inspiration, I may write more than one chapter a week, but that’s the minimum goal that I’m aiming for.
Sadly, this does not mean I will update one chapter a week towards one specific fanfic, I will change it up. Since I have four on my list right now, this may end up in either “one chapter a month” per fanfic or more, depending on how busy I am with work, life and other general interests. I’m here to write for fun, not profit, and I’m here to write for me. So, if you gain an interest in any of my stories and get impatient by slow updates, I apologize, but I will not speed up for your sake.
I also, work on original stories as well, so that will take some of my time away during the year, but I will also be hosting another game for myself each summer. Every summer, through the months June through August, I will focus on fanfiction only and try to pump out as many chapters as I possibly can for any story on my page. This also will include random one-shots.
I am prone to random bits of inspiration towards anything and everything, so a one-shot may appear here and there, or everywhere, but the multi-chapters are my top priority.
For those of you who have read all of this, thanks a lot and thanks for your interest. I appreciate any and all feedback and hope to hear from you!
"If it's easy, then it's not worth it."
I stole this from Leoslady4ever, who apparently also stole this from someone who stole it... it's a long line of theft, but hey, at least it's fun!
Fairy Tail fanfic challenge... number your favorite characters in order, and answer the following questions! Have fun!..
1. Have you read a 5/10 fic before?
Lucy and Happy- not a direct story featuring them, no, but I've read plenty with them spending time together. I think that comes with the whole “Team Natsu” territory.
2. Do you think three is hot? How hot?
Erza? Yes she is! I'd go gay for her, if she wasn't so terrifying and not so perfect for Jellal.
3. What would happen if six got one pregnant?
Pantherlilly gets Natsu pregnant? HAH! Not possible, I'm sure, but I'm going to assume acid was involved and they were both horrified by the hallucinations.
4. Do you recall any good fics about nine?
A few good one-shots here and there. I don't normally look for Gray stories, so I'm lacking in my knowledge of them.
5. Would seven and two make a good couple?
Gajeel and Levy: this couldn't have worked out more perfect for me, seriously. I'm all for the “Beauty and the Beast” thing going on between these two- so yes, yes they would.
6. Four/eight or four/nine?
Jellal with either Charla or Gray?...Since it's not inter species, I'm going to have to go with Jellal/Gray here... who knows, it could work?...Crap...now I want to look it up.
7. What would happen if seven discovered three and eight in a secret relationship?
Levy discovered Erza and Charla- poison mushrooms must have been consumed..Or their relationships was a “strawberry cake eaters anonymous” club that also included Wendy... she was just out sick for their latest meeting.
8. Make a summary of at least twenty words for a two/six fic.
Gajeel and Pantherlilly- There are a lot of things Pantherlily doesn't know about Fairy Tail, or his partner, for that matter. Gajeel is none too willing to spill his actual feelings towards the guild so the exceed decides he may have to do a little... digging.
9. Is there a such thing as a four/ten romantic fluff story?
Jellal and Happy. Right. Rule 34, get to that please. IT MUST NOW HAPPEN! ...I can't say I'd read it, but it has to exist now. DON'T FAIL ME INTERNET!
10. Suggest a title for a one/five Hurt/Comfort fic.
11. What kind of plot would you use if four wanted to seduce one?
Jellal has decided that the best way to the fire dragonslayer's good side is to show him his good intentions... through a well-meaning challenge that may lead to more than just a friendly battle. ….I think I saw a story like this before- has anyone else?
12. Does anyone on your friends list read number seven/nine slash?
13. If you wrote a songfic about number ten, what song would you chose?
Don't Worry, Be Happy: For Happy. And he'd be listening to it from one of those singing fish that hangs on the wall. He'd sing along, obnoxiously loud and massively off-key as he tried to figure out if the singing fish was edible or not.
14. If you wrote a two/three/six fic, what would the warning be?
Gajeel/Erza/Pantherlly WARNING: Cakes may have Bits of Scrap Metal in Them
15. What pick-up line might eight use on five?
Charla to Lucy:
