The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it. I, Lina, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, popularity, or anything else. I have joined the Review Revolution. ( To join the Review Revolution simply copy and paste the above into your profile with your own name and then do your bit and review the fics you read. It's only fair. And if you don't, Karma will come and bite you on the arse. ) Nick name: Lina I was born in Mexico City but lived in Los Angeles since I was 7. Basically, I'm just a Mexican/American that loves reading. Can't really think of what else to write about me right now soooo...at the moment, I'm at a crossroads in my life but the stories here keep me sane, so I'll be around for a while yet. =) Quotes I like: "Truth is Truth. Even ugly Irkmann is not too stupid to recognize truth when it comes up and bites him on the ass like a sand-demon." "Never take life seriously, no one ever gets out alive anyway." "To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down." "High school is a lot like toilet paper, you only miss it when its gone..." Being tolerant, understanding, and loving is not wrong...no matter who someone loves If you support gay marriage and want to show it, paste this into your profile. 1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning. Post this in your profile if you believe Homophobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it. I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind. We interrupt this profile for an important message to one who has passed on. He will be remembered dearly. OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion, or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. A moment of silence. (Stolen from mandy-san's profile) |
