Author has written 9 stories for Harry Potter, and Hunger Games.
Oh, goodness, here I go again.
I tried writing Harry Potter fan fic for few years. I was only passably good at it, and I never wrote anything longer than about 7000 words. (And most I never even loaded onto here, but wrote for the sshg_exchange on LJ, where I am hilaritasetlux.)
And then it just kind of peetered out. I used to have time, but now I have kids. To decide to use my precious free time to write I have to really, really want to.
And then I read the Hunger Games books. I enjoyed the first two and felt a bit "eh" about the third. And then I felt "gah" about the third. And then the third got under my skin, so I decided to write my own third book.
Which is ridiculous, because, as I said, I've never written anything longer than 7000 words. I mean, except for papers in college and grad school, and those were research works about rocks and ecology and botany. Yeah, I'm no English major.
Anyway, now I'm working on my own third Hunger Games book. I think I have a hope of finishing it in the next year or so, because I actually took the time to sit down and outline the story I want to tell, which is something I've never done before (or had to do, since I have never tried to write a book). So I know what is supposed to happen and in what order, except that characters tend to think and do things that I don't always anticipate.
So as I said, here I go again.
All Panem AblazeUpdates:
Despite having outlined this story, I am struggling to keep the chapters on task. I tentatively plan to post Chapter 3 on Thursday, Feb. 20.
