Author has written 1 story for Twilight.
I'm a wife and a mom. I spend too much time volunteering and avoiding laundry and cleaning almost entirely. I love to read. After finding and falling in love with Twilight I needed something to satiate my appetite while I waited for Breaking Dawn. Luckily I found fanfiction. Starting with Twilight I've branched out into Harry Potter (who knew I loved Snape quite so much?) and then to Veronica Mars when I watched it to its unsatisfactory end on Netflix. I've jumped around to a few other genres, but I mostly find myself back with Harry Potter and Twilight.
I could spend entirely too much time reading fanfiction. In fact, it is true that the kiddos have had to wear dirty school clothes because I got so caught up in a story that I failed to actually get the wet laundry into the dryer. (Did I mention I'm not really a fan of laundry anyway?) The best and worst part about fanfiction is that there is always another great story to find. With an endless well of plots and characters there is always another story to read. One of my big wishes is that fanfiction.net would add a "bookshelf" or "to be read" option for storing stories I find that I want to read at some point. Because right now my method is to leave 40 or so open possibilities on my browser tabs.
I've been following along with an author, Bedelia, as she submits entries to the fan fic flash fic challenge at blogspot.com. It inspired me and I finally went and wrote a few pieces. I'm not sure I'll actually submit my drabbles to the blog, but I'm going to write them to the prompts. I've spent the last day or so catching up and writing to the first three prompts though I obviously missed the dates for entry. We'll see how the rest goes.
I have a passion for stories and the art of storytelling. I've always loved books, theater, film, television, songs, and art, but I haven't always known why. I never realized how all of those things truly have one thing in common- stories (and of course the telling of them). Storytelling is not just something we do for little kids. We, all people, thrive because of stories. They are lessons for life. They bring clarity of thought, creativity, hope, and a myriad of emotion. So much is found in a story...and everyone finds solace in stories; we just don't all realize it. So, fanfiction authors- what a powerful tool you weild. To craft a story is to create an essence that will inevitably change a life, even if that life is only yours. However, many, many of you have changed mine and for that I say, "Thank you!" I have laughed, I have cried, I have bounced with giddiness, I have even cursed in despair, and I have sighed in hope. Thank you for all you have given me.
