A Fantasy Variation: Mr.Darcy needs to find a mate for his griffin, leave Netherfield, and fulfill his responsibilities. If he finds himself attracted to a lady of inferior birth it is only because his griffin is going into heat. It has nothing to do with her fine eyes or the liveliness of her mind. He can not be distracted. Not even if his griffin really likes her.

Spin-off of my P&P prequel *Master of Pemberley*. Fascinated with the besottedness of Darcy and his so-called unsuitable bride, the by now widowed Hartwell wonders if - who knows? perhaps? - such overwhelming happiness could be attainable for him, too. The question is: how to go about finding a suitable lady for that?

Darcy overhears a conversation between Lizzy and Charlotte at Lucas Lodge that gives him deeper insight into Jane's feeling for Bingley and Lizzy's feeling for himself. Will this change his behavior towards Lizzy and his interference in Charles and Jane's relationship? Will Charlotte be able to help Lizzy move past her injured pride to see the changes in Darcy's manners?

[REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION ON KINDLE] When Mr Collins takes a couple weeks to work up his nerve to propose, Lizzy hears Mr Collins's proposal after she knows the Netherfield party has decamped, and therefore has a much more cynical view of both the Netherfield party and her matrimonial prospects.

Enough is enough. No more serenity. No more quiet acceptance of her mother's never-ending wailing. No more parentification. Two sisters have had enough of the sacrifices they have had to make for their family. And it all starts when ever loving, ever forgiving Jane finally snaps. And who could blame her.

We all love ye-olde compromise trope, even though we all suspect the whole scheme is full of logical holes and probably not really a thing. This is an ongoing series of short compromise stories of varying levels of silliness, not to be taken too seriously. Includes people caught in compromising positions, and other compromises like Charlotte marrying an idiot for security.

George and Anne Darcy are still alive but estranged due to the elder Darcy's continued support of George Wickham. It is a very different Fitzwilliam Darcy that meets Elizabeth Bennet in 1809.

In April 1815, the volcano Mount Tambora erupted in Indonesia. It affected the climate so that in 1816, there was cold and snow throughout the summer all across the world. What if that had happened 11 years earlier, prior to Bingley coming to Netherfield? **will be removed for publishing at the end of June 2022**

A series of short stories where we take a few more liberties with canon. What if situations in a person's life resulted in a serious character shift? What if there were situations in the past which might alter the entire course of a story? And what if non-canon characters interfered with the storyline as we know it? Caroline overhears a conversation and makes erroneous assumptions, to her detriment.

Discovering Mr. Collins' intentions towards Elizabeth, Jane is determined to save her dearest sister from an unequal marriage. When circumstances cause a change in Elizabeth's opinion of Mr. Darcy, Jane realizes there may be a way to spare them both.

Thank you to everyone who left comments on my first short story - your encouragement has led to this new, light hearted, 'What if', where Darcy and Elizabeth allow each other the opportunity for candid speech earlier in their interactions. In this scenario, it is granted partway through Elizabeth's stay at Netherfield, leading to a much earlier conclusion of events.

Elizabeth and Darcy are compromised at the Netherfield Ball, but luckily were able to clear up one understanding. Can he get past his prejudice against her family? Can she get past the prejudice from his?

A series of Regency whodunnits featuring Mr Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Silliness inside, work in progress, irregular updates. Each chapter can be read as a one-shot, providing your primary focus isn't D&E's relationship, since they are too focused on their enquiries to think about romance.

In this story the Bennets have better connections. A compromise early in the Earl of Matlock's life led to a large age gap between Col. Fitzwilliam and his elder brother, the Viscount. The Viscount is of an age with Mr. Bennet. The friendship between the two led to a higher ranked godfather for Elizabeth. It is light hearted with little angst.

What if Darcy's first meeting with Lizzy was not at the assembly in Meryton, but instead took place four years earlier when Lizzy accompanied her aunt and uncle on their holiday to Derbyshire. A brief meeting in the bookshop in Lambton instead of a crowded assembly room might make all the difference. This is a short two-part story.

Mr Hurst likes gossip as well as any of the ladies, and his valet feeds his master's intrigue. The only difference between Hurst and his sister is that Hurst generally uses his knowledge for good whereas Caroline uses any information learnt for her own advantage.

A change occurs when Mrs. Bennet listens to her family.

Whatever became of the much overlooked Miss de Bourgh? A parallel story to the original, beginning with the Easter visit to Rosings Park; offering Anne a chance at her own happy ending. Darcy adopts a more rational, controlled approach to his offer of marriage to Elizabeth.

Mrs. Bennet vows never to speak to Elizabeth again after her refusal of Mr. Collins offer of marriage. Unfortunately for her, that vow is achieved in a most unexpected manner with unexpected results.

Elizabeth is sent to London to enjoy the fall season and does not return to Longbourn until Christmas of 1811. (This is a relatively short story - about 25K words - and it focuses almost entirely on Darcy & Elizabeth.)

What if Charles Bingley had an older, wiser and more determined older brother who visited Netherfield Park when Elizabeth was there nursing Jane?

Elizabeth knows about enough Mr Darcy not to like him. Called to Netherfield to nurse Jane back to health, Elizabeth simply wants to return home to Longbourn. What she doesn't realize is that he is hopelessly besotted with her and his bad humor is a result trying—and losing—control over his emotions. A private encounter in the library changes all that.

After the disastrous ball at Netherfield, Darcy regained London and decided to search for a wife. This quest certainly had nothing to do with a certain petite woman with mesmerizing eyes. Then entered Colonel Fitzwilliam, ready with some (helpful?) advices...

This is a Pride and Prejudice Story, written with the Sentinel Trope. In a time where almost no one knows of or remembers them, a Guide and Sentinel awaken. Prejudice and pride may hamper their introductions, but their purpose will be undeniable. Possible trigger warning: Attempted sexual assault.

What if Fitzwilliam Darcy's insufferable pride was really just a clever ruse? What if he only behaved that way to help him separate those who truly cared for his person from those who cared only for his wealth and station? He has found all of his closest friends using this method. Now, he just needs to find his wife. Naturally, the witty, vivacious Elizabeth Bennet catches his eye.

This is a fanciful little what-if starting at the Lambton Inn when Darcy happens upon Elizabeth. What if she had not yet opened Jane's letter? What if Darcy had found a happy, none-the-wiser-about-her-foolhardy-sister Elizabeth instead of the sobbing, distraught one from the original text? Possible one-shot that now seems likely to balloon into something longer.

Pride and Prejudice Soulmate AU - When you first dance with your soulmate, a mark will appear on both of your hands, and you shall be forever bonded to each other. Fitzwilliam Darcy wants nothing more than to find his soulmate - his other half. Arriving in Hertfordshire, Darcy is immediately drawn to Miss Elizabeth Bennet. And she is drawn to him, despite his bad first impression.

An epidemic has hit Meryton. The story starts just after Elizabeth arrives at Netherfield to nurse her sister, who was taken ill during a visit with Caroline Bingley.

Jane and Lizzy must prepare to face an uncertain future. Shunned by Mrs. Bennet and largely ignored by Mr. Bennet, they face additional challenges when a young gentleman of fortune leases Netherfield Park. This is an AU story with major changes to some of the familiar characters and situations. As a result, ODC can be considered OOC in this rendering. Some angst and a little humor

Tired and disillusioned by society, Mr Darcy decides to take a vacation, but most certainly not of the kind one would expect from a man of his consequence. No, to avoid turning bitter he decides it's time for a change and a drastic one. What he has not counted on is, that in doing so he could lose his heart. Now back!

Miss Bingley makes a last-ditch effort to ensnare Mr. Darcy. Will Elizabeth step aside for her? Perish the thought!

What if a rainstorm had happened at Pemberley? What if Elizabeth had realised a few key things a little earlier? And what if she had been too mortified to face Mr Darcy?

Elizabeth Bennet is not one to take an insult lying down, and she decides that Mr. Darcy must be punished for his rude comment. With some inspiration from Caroline Bingley, she sets out to exact her revenge.

Miss Bingley's machinations go awry when she upsets her sister, and Mrs Hurst instead of helping her trap Mr Darcy once and for all follows her own scheme instead. - With rather unexpected results...

Darcy, having suffered a head injury following a fall from a horse, saw a possible future marriage and life with Miss Elizabeth Bennet. On returning to his pre-married state he could only cling to the echo of his memories but he was determined to see that future realised. The only obstacle, Miss Elizabeth didn't much like him... yet. NOTE - a follow on from 'forget me not'

Posting-in-Progress, celebrating the 5-year anniversary of this publication and I'm returning to to post my backlist stories. This is the first JAFF story I wrote that wonders what if Elizabeth saved Mr. Darcy on the evening of the assembly from a riding accident?

Three years in to a blissful marriage between Elizabeth and Darcy and tragedy strikes. Darcy falls from his horse and suffers a head injury. The resulting amnesia causes all sorts of problems that ODC Will need to overcome to get back their relationship.

Darcy and Bingley receive an early lesson on their place in Meryton society. The course of their stay and their relationships with the people of Meryton change as they do. AU Pride and Prejudice.

Mary overhears Mr. Darcy talking about Lizzy at the Meryton assembly, and she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Mr. Darcy's world turns on its head as he discovers at the Netherfield ball that he has misjudged everyone's motives: Mr. Wickham is more honorable, Miss Bingley more conniving, and Miss Elizabeth more resentful than he'd given any of them credit for.

ONE SHOT. Elizabeth has been pent up in Netherfield and simply needs to get out. However, her walk goes a little bit awry and leads to some interesting conversation with Mr. Darcy.

Elizabeth Bennet decides on an entirely different approach to dancing and the slight at the Meryton Assembly. This is a novella, complete in 7 chapters.

This little one shot that came to me in a dream, and yes it will remain a one shot as I have too many other projects that require finishing. If anyone wants to take the idea and run with it to a full-length story, be my guest. It will probably be the year 2300 before I get the time! Until then, please enjoy.

While visiting Lambton, with the Gardiners, Elizabeth is mistaken for Miss Darcy and kidnapped along with Mr. Darcy. The two of them must work together to endure an unpleasant situation.

"Miss Eliza Bennet has finally received an offer of marriage!" Oh, Miss Bingley, you really should not be so excited about such a prospect. Even if it is just a rumor because sometimes, it isn't.

Elizabeth's northern tour is for a purpose other than pleasure. This is a short Regency AU exploring the idea of Elizabeth as a spy in counterintelligence.

Georgiana Darcy's in a bit of trouble but luckily Elizabeth Bennet is on hand to help (AKA Elizabeth and Darcy meet one special night)

Mary and Kitty Bennet are the only two daughters left in the Bennet household. After a particularly nasty argument, Mary and Kitty come to an agreement. Mary will teach Kitty how to play the pianoforte and stop acting like a child, and Kitty will teach Mary how to dress nicely and dance reels. Friendship blooms between the often forgotten sisters as they begin to finally grow up.

Mr. Charles Bingley, lately of London, moves to Hertfordshire where he makes the acquaintance of the bewitching Miss Bennet. Miss Elizabeth Bennet, that is, as her elder sister Jane is spending the season in Town. To what lengths will Bingley's sister and friend go to separate the young lovers and how many lives will be irrevocably altered because it? (Darcy/Elizabeth HEA)

When Bingley ignores Darcy and returns to Netherfield and Jane, Darcy decides he might marry for love himself, and Elizabeth tells Darcy what she really thinks of him.

While Lydia is in Brighton she seems to come down with Kitty's cough, and while Miss Bingley is at Pemberley, she determines to show that she is the superior walker to Elizabeth Bennet with unexpected results. One-Shot

Louisa Hurst just wants things with her husband to get back to what it used to be, but on her way she finds a treasure, something that will help not just her, but everyone around her to find love. Well, everyone but Caroline, but not everyone can have a happy ending. A tale in 5 parts.

This short story is a "what if" variation. What if Georgiana elopes with Wickham, but comes to her senses before Gretna Green is reached. It is definitely low angst. Mr and Mrs Bennet are rather better parents than depicted by Jane Austen. There will be six chapters. I hope you enjoy it. The T rating is just to be on the safe side.

The classic twist of Mr. Bennet dies, Darcy offers a marriage of protection, and he and Elizabeth must work through their pride and prejudices without being able to escape one another.
