George and Anne Darcy are still alive but estranged due to the elder Darcy's continued support of George Wickham. It is a very different Fitzwilliam Darcy that meets Elizabeth Bennet in 1809.

What if Mrs Bennet's well-known silliness and bad behaviour were mostly an act? What if she was simply a loving, if sometimes misguided, mother who hoped to ensure her five girls could find more happiness in life than she had?
