Author has written 1 story for Bones.
Well, I'm KlingonGal8489. I'm 23 years old and a graduate of THE Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!) who is temporarily living in Spain. I like horseback riding, rock climbing, roller coaster riding, reading, drawing, clarinet playing and TV watching. I once (OK, twice, but who's counting?) gave myself a black eye because I tried to read and walk at the same time. I'm a band geek. I wear fun socks. My favorite Disney movies are Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan and Tangled. No, I can't narrow it down any more than that. I like black olives on my pizza, honey barbeque sauce on my wings and bleu cheese dressing on my salads. Halloween is my favorite holiday and Purim is my favorite Jewish holiday. It's basically Jewish Halloween. I watch crime dramas, action, comedies and sci-fi; even though I got my BA in Psychology, TV shows that center entirely around character development can only hold my interest for a limited time. I need explosions, fistfights and intrigue to keep me roped in. The main shows I love are Bones, Castle, Firefly, Star Trek, Doctor Who, The X-Files (but I'm only up to season 6, so NO SPOILERS!), White Collar, Covert Affairs, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory. I listen to classic rock, country (much to my mother's dismay) and showtunes, and I think Billy Joel is a musical genius. I think Mel Brooks is a comedic genius. My bucket list is three pages long and growing. I have a terrier mix who was a stray that followed me home from the bus stop when I was 13 years old, and my younger brother is the most important person in the world to me. He is the person I would instinctively jump in front of a bullet for. And that's me in a nutshell.
I began reading fanfic when I was 12 years old (dear Lord, has it seriously been over a decade!?!). My first fandom was Star Trek: Voyager and my first ship was Janeway/Chakotay. They will always be my first love, but I don't read many stories anymore. The show ended in 2002, and at this point almost everything that could be written about it has been. New and unique stories are fairly few and far between, but I do check in with my favorite authors a few times a year to see if they've done anything new. I had plenty of story ideas of my own when I was younger, but I was (thankfully) smart enough to realize that I was just a kid and could definitely not do the characters justice. At this point, all those ideas are either A)overdone, B) immature, or C), they've been rattling around in my brain for so long that they've lost their appeal. None of them will ever be written.
I then spent a couple years reading Harry Potter fanfic. I didn't have any diehard ship there, but I tended to like seeing Hermione paired with a Slytherin. I don't know why, and I don't really read HP fics anymore anyway.
Now I'm hooked on Bones and Castle, and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. I've fallen in love with the characters, with how flawed they are while still managing to stay loveable and--though if you look at it objectively they really shouldn't be--believable. The shows provide me with plenty of gore and action, but I honestly think I'd still watch every week even without them. They both keep my shipper heart incredibly happy--although sometimes that happiness is just a side effect of angst-overload.
I have a fair amount of ideas for Bones and Castle stories, and I've begun to break through from daydreaming to actual writing. I will, however, not post often. I know that, if I don't have a deadline or a grade depending on it or anything, I tend to have trouble finishing what I start, so I will never begin posting a story that hasn't already been written in its entirety. The only exception to this would be collections of oneshots. That way if I lose interest or hit a case of writer's block (which I have enormous difficulty overcoming) there won't be any cliffhangers to leave you wondering.
While I'm thinking about it, I want to go ahead and post a disclaimer to all my stories here, because I just know I'll forget to put it in sometimes. So this is a blanket disclaimer. If you recognize it, it isn't mine. But if you want to pretend it is and give me money, I won't complain. I'm saving up for graduate school.
I'm also putting in a disclaimer for my avatar. I didn't create it, I just found it via a Google Image search. Credit goes to the wonderful person who put it there!
If you're still reading at this point, congratulations and thank you. And please feel free to PM me, even if you don't have anything to say other than "Hi! You seem nice/cool/nerdy/amusingly quirky, and I like black olives on my pizza too!". I see how people have friends through fandoms, and even though I've got a decade of experience on this site I've usually been a lurker. I'd love to make friends and really begin to feel like a part of the community!
