Author has written 3 stories for Naruto, and Harry Potter.
SHIFTERS - Chapter 7 approximately 18 percent (1245/7000 words).
WATCHED (Naruto fic) - Chapter 2 approximately 0 percent (0/5000 words).
ONCE UPON A BLUE MOON (HP/BtVS crossover) - Planned out, working on rough draft.
Location: Somewhere in the southeastern U.S.
Favorite Movies: The Crow, Boondock Saints, most of Tarantino's movies (sans Jackie Brown, just didn't really like that one). All of the good ole Spielberg and Lucas stuff (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, all that jazz...)
Favorite Anime: Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, anything by Miyazaki, Vampire Hunter D, Afro Samurai, and a whole lot more that I'm not going to take the time to type.
Favorite Books: Harry Potter series, anything by Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series, most of Micheal Crichton's books, some Anne Rice, George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. Once again, I could name many more, but I'll just stop there for now.
P.S. I highly recommend Eric Van Lustbader's Ninja series for those of you who enjoy the entire concept of ninja as much as I do; it's freaking awesome.
About Me: I'm currently a 3D-Design and Animation student and a cashier/self checkout attendant at Kroger. I'm recovering what will hopefully have been my final quarter of school, so my groove has been a bit de-groovified, but I'm slowly getting back into it. Hopefully, the rust I've accumulated over the past two years won't slow me down too much.
Cid's Fanfic Pet Peeves: These are mistakes I've seen in fanfics over and over again that just really get on my nerves.
1) I cannot easily count the number of Naruto fanfics I've read in which the SANNIN - as in the Densetsu no Sannin, or Legendary Three Ninja - are called sennin, which means "hermit" or "sage." Now, I understand that Jiraiya is referred to as both in canon, but the words mean entirely separate things, and are used for entirely separate reasons. Jiraiya is the Toad Hermit, one of the Legendary Three Ninja, not the Toad Three Ninja, one of the Legendary Hermits. Naruto calls him "Ero-sennin," or perverted hermit, not "Ero-Sannin," the perverted Three Ninja...though that does sound like a good title for a smut fic.
It really ticks me off after a while. If you've been reading Naruto Manga or watching Naruto fansubs enough to want to write a good fanfic, then you should know the difference, and if you've only seen the American dubs, then don't try to use the Japanese terms if you aren't familiar with them, please.
2) It is absolutely disgusting to me to read an HP fanfic in which commonly used spells and names are misspelled. If you like these books well enough to write fanfics about them, it should be easy for you to pick one of the books up and look up what you're trying to spell before you post your fic, and even easier to use the Lexicon website to do the same thing. I'm tired of reading about Harry Potter and his best friends "Ron Wesley" and "Hermine Grainger," instead of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Now, of course, I expect you to ignore it when I do it :P
Cid's Fanfic Rant: I find myself gradually growing more and more irritated with people who allow fanon to color their perceptions of canon. People start talking about Evil!Dumbledore like it's a fact, or they say that Tonks was the greatest character in canon when her character was at best underdeveloped and realistically nothing more than a bit of fluff - fun yes, but a great character with depth and purpose? In a word, no.
People take the gross caricatures that most fanon authors write (myself included) as gospel truth after they've been reading fanfics for a while.
Ron isn't an utterly jealous moron who can barely string two words together. Is he lazy, prone to speaking before he thinks, and completely uninterested in school work? Yes. But, he isn't always jealous of Harry, sometimes it's Hermione, or more specifically, Hermione's current love interest, whoever they may be, and sometimes he isn't jealous at all. He has one month-long spell in fourth year where he is truly envious of Harry, and after that, he remains a supportive friend - excepting his Horcrux influenced disappearance in DH. He actually says a few things that have merit from time to time, believe it or not. And, even though he doesn't like school work, when he applies himself he is at worst average, and possibly even above average in class.
Hermione isn't a free spirit just waiting to be uncaged. She's an obsessive type-A personality who has to work very hard to become as laid back as she is by the end of the story - which isn't all that much, by Harry and Ron's standards. I find it ironic when Harmony fans write an independent Harry, pair him with one of the most rigid, controlling characters in the books, and then claim it was a match made in heaven. I'm sorry, but if you are allowing any canon to affect your story at all (which you should be if you aren't writing a total AU, like the Dangerverse series by whydoyouneedtoknow) then Harry and Hermione have little in common. Harry isn't particularly fond of school work, he doesn't enjoy time in the library (save for the few times he's trying to get away from his own housemates), and Hermione doesn't have the sense of humor that Harry very much needs in a 'mate'. Do they make good friends who genuinely care about each other? Yes. Are they the perfect couple because someone has built up an unrealistic fantasy around them? No.
Evil!Harry.../shudder. I'm sorry, but Harry, by the time he is eleven, has a great strength of character. Can he become 'grey' or even dark? Yes, but I've yet to find a good Evil!Harry story - they may be well written and even slightly engaging, but they aren't likely to be good HP stories, in my opinion.
Harry isn't a repressed genius. Is he fairly intelligent and above average magically? Yes. But he isn't being held back by Ron, quidditch, or anything else you can come up with; he is just who he is: an average guy who has to do something extraordinary.
Now, to qualify all of that, let me say that I don't mind if you want to write or read these things. They are your opinions and works to do with as you will, it is fanfiction after all, and you're entitled to write whatever kind of story you want; just don't come presenting your opinions to me as canon fact when they aren't, and don't be offended when I don't want to read your stories.
/End self-centered, egotistical rant (/grin).
General Disclaimer: I do not own the characters in my stories (unless I specifically say otherwise), nor do I profit from them.

12/8/2008: No, I'm not dead - neither are my fics. It's crunch time in school right now, and I've had a few RL things to deal with. I hope to have the next Chapter of "Shifters" out before the end of the year though.
1/4/2009: Finally put in a decent amount of work on the next chapter of "Shifters." Look for it soon. Also be on the look out for my new Naruto fic sometime in the next few weeks/months.

4/18/2011: I've finally made an effort to slide back into the saddle. One of the reasons, wondrously many and varied as they are, that I left off writing for a while was the loss of EVERY bit of fanfiction I was in the process of creating along with most of my school work at the time. Flash drives are great, but entirely to small and easy to lose :( So, I've had to start everything over again, starting with Chapter 7 of "Shifters". Now I just need to dig around until I can find all of my notes and outlines for this story, wish me luck.
5/8/2012: Still writing when I get the urge, but not making a whole lot of progress.
I regret to inform you that Ascension is on hiatus, for a very simple reason. It feels like I'm writing the sequel to a story that doesn't exist. So, instead of writing a story that is fifty percent flashback, I'm just going to go back, write all that history as it's own story, then come back to Ascension (as the sequel now) and re-write it.
IMPORTANT NOTICE THE SECOND!
Ascension is now up for adoption, should anyone want it. I, personally, just wasn't enjoying trying to make it work the way I wanted it to
