I figured I should put something on here, sooo...

I'm an amateur author wanting to eventually write my own original stories to publish. In my wilder fantasies I imagine myself becoming as big as Rowling and getting filthy rich. But I think most authors fantasize something like that at one point or another.

As most of you might have noticed from my list of stories, I have a very active muse. I wish she'd be more of a lazy slob sometimes, content to munch pizza and binge Netflix, but no matter what I'm doing she's working out. So I'm always thinking of absurd situations, no matter what media I'm consuming. It's honestly kind of annoying. I can't ever enjoy media without my muse rubbing her mits with glee as I sigh in exhaustion.

My original work actually spawned from watching the first Pirates movie, which then grew when I read Butcher's Dresden Files, and culminated when I finished the Mass Effect series.

Yes, it is a very weird concept. I look forward to writing it all out.

As for fanfics, they all spawn from relatively small things.

For 'Dragon Walking with Demons', I finished SMTIV and wondered what various characters from other fandoms would do if stuck in that sort of world. It's when I reached Issei that the concept crystallized into what I used. However, I think I was premature in beginning to write it. I didn't know what happened in the LNs. Didn't actually start reading them till after I started writing. This has led to me sticking too closely to canon because I don't want to ruin events that come later. So Dragon is on hiatus while I read it all to better come up with concepts for going forward and making it my own thing.

'Brightest in Shadow' is an old idea that I've just been adding to for ages the more media I consume. I don't actually remember its genesis. It was, I believe, born of the idle though about what a character (it wasn't always Harry) would do if he could world hop. It was all a matter of coming up with the reasons.

'Ballad of Heroes and Villains' was a product of me playing Fate/Grand Order a ton (which I still do), and trying to think up ideas for Brightest. Then my muse started cackling, and I sighed in resignation. I tried to put it off by making it a challenge, hoping somebody else would write it, but in the end, I just had to start it myself.

'Through the Filth and the Flames' was born of starting to play The Secret World, one of my all time favorite MMOs, after its relaunch. Originally Harry was the protagonist, as I wondered how he'd do in a world whose magic system was completely different. Then I had a different idea involving one of my favorite animes, Musie put on that sexy outfit I love so much, and away we went.

'Survival of the Fittest?' came from, well, thinking of how to make Jaune a competent fighter on par with the rest of the cast without it seeming absurd. Putting him through hell and forcing him to evolve to survive is what I came up with. It's a simple concept, but I like it.

'On Swirling Ashes' came from reading dogbertcarroll's work and wanting to see Xander wreck plans and fix shit. He is very much the inspiration for this fic, and I thank him for his always amusing and interesting stories.

'Journey of Ages' is simple. I've never seen a completed novelization of Chrono Trigger, and decided to try my hand at it. There's not much else to it. Unfortunately it's also on hiatus as my 3DS died (broke while on a trip, after I finally bought SMTIVA. That... irritated me), so I can't check back to it to confirm what happened. Till I get it repaired (which will cost me $90. Ugh), I'm leaving that fic alone. I obviously have plenty of other things to write in the mean time.

Oh, and in case anybody is interested in that last story, 'Born Into Eternity', I should probably rewrite it. It's basically what happened when I finally finished Mass Effect 3 at 2 in the morning and decided to write my own ending right then and there. I think it shows in the quality how sleep deprived and rushed I was to do it. I literally wrote and posted it within an hour. Probably not the greatest authorial debut I could have made. The only thing I'm proud of is the little chant/prayer I came up with, which actually came to my mind during my uncle's funeral. Expect to see it in my other stories at some point.

I think that's enough for now. My profile is no longer empty. Yay. Now please excuse me, Musie is grinning, and it's worrying me. Expect a new story soon. *sigh*
