Oh my shit... when was the last time I updated? Somewhere 2 years ago...? I'm sorry!! I have no excuses but college life! But I've decided that I will finish up the 2 stories I have in-progress. Love Around Affair and More than a Teacher. I'd probably finish up LAA first because I got the plot down and it's pretty short. MtaT is currently on a lost train and I have to figure out where it will go. My old plot for that story is ridiculous and illogical so I'm gonna trash it and try to rescue it somehow. It's been a while since I last write so I'm sure my skills are rusty. I'll try to get it back to shape.
I'm loving this book cover thing! I've always loved book covers!!
A little about me:
I'm an artist, a student, and an aspiring writer. Art has always been my passion in life, whatever the form, be it illustrations, films, music, photographs, writings and so much more. I am an art student in college. I don't have any formal trainings beside the usual essay writing in school. I know my work is far from perfect but I strive for perfection although I know it doesn't exist. To me, the only way to improve my skills is to keep on writing. I've read about authors who say that you have to write everyday no matter how short or long it is but I can't afford to do that. I have other things to do. College work and life in general. I am already that quiet guy you don't see often. If I decided to use my spare time in writing random crap just because, I would cease to exist in this world.
Beside my artistic profile, I'm just a quiet, awkward guy walking through life. People often judge me by first impressions and usually it's not good. To the third person's eye, I'm really anti-social. I guess I could pass as that. But if one gets to know me more, I'm actually quite different. Reality though, no one tries. I tried, but a friendship can only work if both individuals do it together.
Talking about my writing side and tendencies... I write complicated and dark stories. I have something against happily ever afters and bright cheerful stories. I can't do it. I tried before but it turned out crappy and I trashed it. Perhaps with all the dark mood and angst, the characters became OOC but I tend to use the excuse 'because of their past' or something similar. I love multi-chapters because with that massive length you can create a whole new world and a real story. You can explore the emotions of the characters and show people the world through their eyes.
The things I hate in writing and reading... Gender bender. Changing the gender of a character just because appears as an insult to me. People think it's funny and that's what made me hate it more. Although they are only fictional characters, I treat them as another being and not some dolls for you to humiliate. Original Characters as the main focus, Mary Sues and Gary Stus. Original characters are fine if they are needed to push the plot into a certain direction and they are only a minor supporting character. I always think: if you want to write about your own character as the main guy/girl, why write a fanfiction? And who likes Mary Sues and Gary Stus?
Some of my all time favorite fanfictions by other writers: (I can't keep track of them but these are the top three in my list)
No One Could Know by TDO3 (Eyeshield 21)
Homecoming Hill by TreeStar (One Piece)
Scraps of Gold by Kjesta (Evangelion; this is the story that inspired me to start writing)
