I've been on here for a while now, over two years, and I've changed a lot. When I first stumbled upon this website I had no idea what fanfiction was. I had simply been on Google looking up Harry Potter. Low and behold I came across this amazing website where people wrote stories about my favorite books! I was ecstatic due to the fact that I had always wanted to do this. Before I started to actually write fanfiction stories on paper, I ‘wrote’ them in my head. Sadly now that I look back on it I have come to realize that I used to be an awful writer. All of my OCs would have been self-insert Sues, so I am extremely glad I hadn’t posted them.
I’d love to say that Prince of Tennis is the fandom closet to my heart, the reason I do what I do, but I cannot. I was brought here by Harry Potter, my first fanfiction was Percy Jackson, and my formerly most loved stories were from Twilight. Then one fine day, I realized that all those stories sucked. They were tragically awful and quite embarrassing. Now while my dear readers seemed not to think so, I knew the truth. So I simply deleted all of them and started fresh.
I began my life in a new fandom, Prince of Tennis. I had actually come across this fandom in my earlier years, but I forgot as I grew older and became obsessed, for a short while, with other series. When I first read it I only had a few of the books at my disposal; however that was before I discover them online. Upon finishing the series I started my first fanfiction for my new fandom. After that it’s like they say, the rest was history.
As a writer I love feedback. I welcome (constructive) criticism with open arms because I want nothing more than to improve my writing. My biggest worries have always been and will always be keeping everyone in character and my OCs becoming Mary Sues. The genres I tend to stick to are romance, friendship, hurt/comfort, angst, and family. You can find bits and pieces of humor in some parts of my stories but it’s really scarce (in my opinion). I’m honestly very fickle. I love to write cliché romance scenes, yet I absolutely loathe reading them. Also, my OCs are likely to be all over the place. They’ll react differently in the same situation because each OCs personality was matched to be specially to one canon character. Some of my story plots may be a bit “common” but that won’t stop me from putting my own spin on them. Sadly, due to my awful procrastination, I’m only allowing myself to have two stories in progress at a time. I used to have five all going at once, but I only updated every couple months. As some stories wind down to a close I will be working on the next though, so it will be up by the time the other is done. I tend to stay away from sequels unless I have it planned that way from the very start.
As a reader I’ll honestly give (almost) anything a try. I truly care more about how well the story is written rather than what it’s about. I really dislike when writers have a good story but an awful summary. The summary is the first thing someone sees when considering to read your story. It needs to be appealing. That means that you should have correct spelling and please, for the love writing, use the shift button and capitalize names. I recommend to all writers that they should have a beta, especially if they aren’t writing in their native tongue. I’ve ran across a few really good stories, but I have to struggle to read them because they are rather confusing. I also really, really hate when someone has an amazing story and they suddenly stop writing for it. I don't mean for like a month or so, I'm talking about a year or more. It's not fair!
So I posted on here that I hate when writers stop writing... And then I went and didn't update for three years. Awkward...
Life just got super crazy for me. To sum up the last three years: hospital, friend drama, failed junior year, new school, no life, no future. But things are better now and move-in day for university in on the 21st.
Anyway, I am working on finishing Because I Love You and re-writing Something's Got To Give. I can't wait to get back into writing and I hope you guys like it.
Okay, so six months later (just realized it's been that long...) and no closer to finishing the stories. But I am, I promise. I've really missed writing and just being around fandoms in general. I miss it a lot. So I'm coming back. I'll be working on finishing Because I Love You and Something's Got To Give. I'll also be working on fanfics for the HP fandom.
