Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter.
Yeah, so I've never been that into fanfiction and I always resolutely refused to write it, as I prefer to write my own original fiction. But with the drought of Harry Potter stuff to talk about I've been forced to resort to it. Anyone who ever reads any of my stuff (though it would be understandable if you don't), please take the time to comment, please, as the whole reason I'm doing this is to feel like I'm part of a fandom again.
Anyway, about me (though I highly doubt anyone cares). My name is Steph. I'm 19, an English major in college, a girl (hot one too, rrrrr), and a Mormon. I've been a maniacal Harry Potter fan for eight years.
Favorite author besides J.K. Rowling: Jodi Picoult (especially My Sister's Keeper, Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, Vanishing Acts, and Plain Truth)
(That's right. No Stephenie Meyer. After reading Breaking Dawn and also realizing how annoying and superficial the other three books were, it sickens me that I ever professed to be a fan of the Twilight series. I am currently reading The Host and so far it seems to be better, but I'm afraid the Twilight saga no longer holds a place in my heart.)
Other favorite books: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Wild Girl by Jim Fergus, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
Favorite movies: Lord of the Rings, Pan's Labyrinth, Forrest Gump, The Painted Veil, The Illusionist, The Last Unicorn, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Young Frankenstein, While You Were Sleeping, Gone with the Wind, The Phantom of the Opera, God's Army, What Dreams May Come, and so many more that it's not even funny.
Favorite TV shows: The Simpsons and Scrubs (my penname is a Scrubs reference). I also watch Family Guy, but I'm not proud of that.
Favorite artists: Blackmore's Night, Vanessa Carlton, Celtic Woman, The Cranberries, Death Cab for Cutie, Evanescence, Sara Evans, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Miranda Lambert, Lifehouse, Steve McDonald, Anna Nalick, Quietdrive, Rascal Flatts, Stefy, Vertical Horizon, The Wreckers, and many more. My favorite Broadway soundtracks are Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables.
Other hobbies besides haunting HP boards and groveling at my shrine to Ron Weasley: Stage acting, writing prose and poetry, writing songs, playing guitar (though I suck at it), and clothes shopping. My favorite clothing brands are Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, Vanity, Express, Gadzooks, and er, a few more. (Know this: For years I condemned fashion-obsessed girls as shallow bimbos and prided myself on just wearing whatever fit and not having more clothes than strictly necessary. Now I have more clothes than could fit in two walk-in closets, which is why my room is such a disaster area.)
Fondest ambitions: To publish a novel before I turn 20 (though time is sort of running out for that, so I may have to change the deadline to when I'm 21), to work at Disneyland as a Disney princess (I'd make the rockingest Belle or white Pocahontas you ever saw), to marry Edward Norton or possibly Zach Braff, and to write at least one article for Cracked.com (wait, did I say that out loud? That was a typo).
Other facts about me:
I don't eat red meat.
I sometimes get crushes on cartoon characters and it freaks me out. Right now my cartoon crush is Steve from American Dad. Oh yeah, I would take that kid around the world.
I am a crazed perfectionist and have a pathological need to keep editing my profile and everything I've ever written.
I'm afraid of all manner of irrational, seemingly random things like giant moths touching me (a bit of a problem seeing as they flood my room at night and swarm in droves toward my computer screen).
When I was little I would often spontaneously burst into songs that I would make up on the spot pertaining to the current situation, because I watched too many Disney movies and thought that was just what people do.
