It's my part time job to do video reviews and re-caps of recent movies to this site with my web-shot called "Movie Dorkness." Try and check it out, I'm not the only one there, we are a nice little team of contributors and they are all very talented. Agony booth is a site which have made text based re-caps since 2002 and I was picked up as the site decided to make the transition into videos, much like the that guy with the glasses site. Still it's mostly text based, but we are getting there. Come visit and remember to leave a comment :D
Please oh please! if you are in any way know something about this internet reviewers thing and is the slightly interested in me, go to that thread and support me! Yes I am a part of the Agony booth, and yes I am very proud of that fact, it's just an awesome world to be a part of.
And thank you for visiting my profile.
I may apologies and explain at once, many if not to say all of my fan fictions have spelling and at least some grammar mistakes in them.
It's because English is not my native languages, and still I am stupid enough to try and write in English, I am from Denmark and speak Danish.
I am honestly trying to improve myself constantly and I am only to grateful when people point out the obvious mistakes to me, believe it or not, somebody had to point the difference between "Suddenly" and "Certainly" out to me, and I will be forever grateful because it means that I am never ever going to make that mistake again! so I am just so grateful towards that person!
When people offer themselves as Beta readers or ask if they can fix an already posted story, I usually accept, but I can't get myself to actually ask people...
I am a nerd and fan of only to much stuff, I love discovering new stuff and really just tug into it, and am not just excluded to one franchise only.
All right, as you can see my user here at fanfiction net is starting to be kind of old. And I have to admit, I have been a bit of a sinner. In the past, I never commented on any story, only those extremely few that I just really really really liked. If I only really liked it, I wouldn't review :/
But that is until now where I realised what a great impact comments actually have on the author and the story, reviews means a lot! And now I write them to any story that have managed to keep my interest all the way through to the last chapter, it equals that it must have been good. And then it's important to give moral support to the author, this is the only kind of reward they will ever receive; people actually reading the story and reviewing it. And it's hard to tell how much of an impact these reviews actually have, let me tell you, it's a lot more than you as a reader would think. The long story I wrote. "Second chance a new choice." I can honestly say that I probably wouldn't have written more than three chapters of it and then never finished it, had it not been for the reviews. The reviews made me want to write more and put more effort into it, which ended up learning me one or two things about writing and made me a better writer, simply because I didn't stop the story, and I didn't stop because I got reviews. And I probably wouldn't have had to courage, much less the skill, to write the way I do today, if it wasn't for that.
So a big, from the buttom of my heart, A thank you to all for caring.
Silly questions that have been asked.
Is Severus Snape your favorite Hp character?:
No, Snape is not my favourite Harry potter character, and that I have been writing so many stories about him.. I honestly don't know why, I also know though that he is just incredible fascinating and apparently I can just keep talking about him in new ways, that's just an amazing character. Very complex, and very important for the dynamic in the potter books, they simply wouldn't have been nearly as good without him.
What do you think of Snape as a character?:
Well, I fell that is what I have been doing in my stories, summed him up in different ways and apparently I am just not done yet, if you want to know what I think, just read my stories. Though if you want a direct answer... He is a big jerk and a git all right, a lot of down right tragic things happened to him which went a good way to make him the way he is, but ultimately it's also his own decision to be such an ass, being unfair towards students in such a high degree when you are the person in power, it's cruel and he shouldn't be doing it, there really is no excuses. But.. by the end of the day, by the end of book seven, he died a true hero. He is both a jerk and a hero, and that's what makes him so fascinating, he is multi layered and incredible complex, but in a good way, it always makes sense!
Also, a lot of the immediate power in Harry potter which makes them such a good read is that our heroes always have some evil force breathing down their necks whom we hate, either it's Malfoy, Filch, Umbridge, Snape or even Gildory, thing just is with characters we hate and know we should stay clear from, it creates instant dynamic and a sense of danger when Harry does something he shouldn't, these characters are important and it's important that they are jerks. It sounds weird to say it, but one of the main reason Harry Potter is such an exciting read, is actually because of the many jerks... a story is never better than it's villains you know. (Yeas I know Snape is not a villain, but he fills out the shoes as one the most of the time.)
Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?
The book is filled with amazing characters, I have to say that, but if I have to choose.. Remus Lupin, I am a sucker for that man, I just always loved him to pieces, everything about him, from the fact that he is a freaking werewolf to the fact he is willing to share is chocolate. Second is Luna Lovegood, because she proves that being weird is awesome and she gave me some courage to just be my weird self when I was a child (trust me, I have just always been weird) And third is Nevielle Longbottom, the boy who by first glance is a soft individual who you would think easily breaks, but he was always a true hero inside, even if he didn't believe it himself. By first glance soft but when put to the test tougher than most, he doesn't break and I love how that is a complete contrast to Malfoy who appears tough by first glance but actually is very weak when put to the test. You can totally put that to real life, the people who appears soft are often not to be taken for granted in serious situations while does who appears tough really are all pussy's.
If you were at Hogwarts, which house would you be in?
Well.. urh, that's a good question actually, I have to say that I would not last two minutes in Slytherin, I just wouldn't.. I don't think Slytherin is bad house or anything, I just happen to be very un-slytherin... I don't think I am hard working enough to be in Hufflepuff.. I am sort of lazy, and being social were never my strong suite :/ . Well I am obviously bookish, but have a terrible sense of order, I am certainly not the stereotypically Rawenclaw, but I am geeky enough to imagine that it could be my house, as my mom says, I just know an awful lot of stuff and can be to smart for my own good given the right situation (given the wrong situation I am a dork though) And yeah, I think I could do fairly well in Gryffindor to. So.. either Rawenclaw or Gryffindor.. And to take a guess between does houses.. I think I would have to go totally mainstream and say Gryffindor.
Who is your favourite One Piece character?
I think for those who read more than just one of my one piece stories, it's rather obvious that it's Usopp. Not only is he my favourite One Piece characters, but he is one of my favourite characters of all time. period. It makes me sad a lot of people don't like him, and I even feel inclined to say that those people don't understand him.. but then again, it's all up to interpretation, so I shan't judge. The way I see it though, Usopp is by far the most relateable AND inspirational One Piece character to date. I feel like there's living a little Usopp inside of me, all of his doubts, and the way he acts, is very human. he is an ordinary human among monsters. But he becomes inspirational because he actually don't let his own self doubt or depression stop him, he still stands up for himself, still follow his dreams, and pushes himself beyond any reasonable limit, to become the man he wishes to be.. that's inspirational to me. Also he is an inventor and story teller.. That's just such a winner combination in my book! I do see myself as a sort of story teller, and a bit of a mad inventor trying to piece things together to make art. if there was any fictional character I ever met I feel like represents me as a person, and how I want to react, inspire me to do things.. Well it's Usopp. Good on him :)
As a person whom has been diagnosed with and suffered from depression, he is indeed an inspiration, and I love having his sogeking statue standing on my desk for inspiration when things seems really tough... Second favourite character is Brook. he is Freaking awesome in all aspects of his bony being!
Who is your favorite Darkwing Duck character?
phew... to be honest, that's an incredible tough one, because that show is just bursting with incredible characters, I simply love how they never take the route you would exspect, so you want to create a love interest with Darkwing... fine, now the usual thing you would have done was to make her a beautiful blond news reporter thingy, who has a thing for Darkwing but we never ever actually see them come together for real, they would date, but not quite be a couple to create "drama." but nope, they create a freaking witch with a bad temper, plus that when Darkwing and Morgana hits it off, they are totally like Gomez and Morticia Addams compeltely in love prancing around calling each other nick names, and there is no hiding around the bush to create tension, these two becomes a freaking couple, they do ordinary stuff, Darkwing meet's her parents.. twice. And I am babbling again, cause as much as I like Morgana, she's not my favorite.. just a tiny indication how good the characters of this show is.. hm, Darkwing himself is one of my favorite hero characters ever created, he is genuinly funny, genuinly likeable, wonderfully flawed in so many ways yet still capable, and he loves to be the hero, I really wish more heroes in any hero universe would love to be a hero as much as he does, There is only one real reason why he is a hero, because that is what he want to be, wonderful.
And Negaduck is probably one of the greatest villains ever, he loves being a villain just as much as Darkwing loves being a hero, and you have to give probs to anyone who see his nemesis coming towards him in airplan and just pulls a chainsaw while exclaiming. "Come to papa!" ... yeas seriously, he does that.
What is your favorite Darkwing Duck episode?
I.. erh.. again, I don't know.. because, half the episodes are just purely genius in satire and the rest by the very least makes me laugh constantly. I do think "Steerminator." is probably the one with the most emotional value and the most a stake, it genuinly scared me though I was an adult while I was watching it. "Quiverwing Quack." Is an beautiful episodes exploring Darkwings and Gosalyns relation ship better than any other episode, really showcasing that he is her hero and she just wants to prove herself to him, plus awesome Negaduck moments in that one. "Time and Punishment." fucking brilliant spoof on major DC comic book event where Superman and co' goes to an alternative dimension where sort of the same shit happened, that story line even made it into the Justice league TV show, plus, Time and Punsishment stands perfectly well in it's own right, you don't need to know what it's spoofing just to enjoy the sheer insanity and laughter of it. "And I bet he has dandruff to!" oh shezz.
In Doctor Who, Who is your Doctor?
I don't like to pick a favorite Doctor, they are all different and all good.. though I do have a weakness towards Matt Smith.. he just adorable! and no.. I never had a crush on David Tennant, sorry girls.. also, I don't know why, but Patrick Throughton facinates me to no end, I can watch that man forever, he makes me laugh.
Who is your favorite companion?
I fell tempted to say Rory, because I have boundless pitts of sympathy for that guy.. he always recieve the short end of the stick and it's never ever his fault, my heart bleeds for that guy, Amy doesn't diserve him.
Well, of the new companions I will have to say Donna Noble, I love everything about Donna Noble! I like that she's not what you usually would see in a companion, I like she's the most earth bound of the girls thus far, the one closests to actually be an average joe, but still I can buy she has a pure heart, I love the fact she's not dreaming about snogging the doctor, I love that she really is an equal as an partner to him, her core is just that strong, and it's believable, it's rare it's believable in doctor who. The best companions are the ones where you can really buy they are an uqual and a fully qualified partner to the Doctor.
And that's why from the classic series it would be Sarah Jane, because she really comes off as an partner, equal and companion and doesn't need to prove it or anything.. that's the thing, often the companions comes off as obnoxius show off's feeling a need to prove themselves, or the writers needs to proof them which just makes them obnoxious. And she's so wonderfully natural, and spunky! and likeable.. Elisabeth Sladen, your all ready sorely missed!
What is your favorite book?
What is your favorite book beside Harry potter?
Hitchikers guide to the galaxy. it's just the right amount of british nonsense.
A Muppets Christmas Carol... what?
(all though, I think it's worth mentioning that I am quite the movie geek and watches tons of movies on a monthly basis, including all the newly released blockbusters.)
My favourite genre is fun swashbuckling, and fairy tales.. the movies that goes all the way and really becomes an obscure fairy tale universe, it's own universe, any Guilmore Deltoro movie kind of.. uh, and Pirates of the Carribean, I love those movies.. I don't like all that stuff that try and be all realistic and stuff.. I mean, what the hell is the point of a robot movie if you are going to try and make it realstic looking? then make a social drama so it doesn't become false marketing! I want terminator 2! That was an awesome robot movie! anyhow...
Favorite television show?
As you can see I have a strange liking towards everything British, because my fave show is differently Doctor who, and Steven Moffat is differently my hero in television writing... what about Darkwing Duck you may ask.. well, it's differently somewhere in my top five, if it's not second favorite, I don't know, I don't have much of a life going on, I have seen a lot of television! Sometimes even just to study it further, so the competetion is a bit tough, if I should name every single tely show I like, the list would be enourmus!
How in the world do you manage to make so many OC's that's actually enjoyable, despite being OC's?
First of, thank you to all people who thinks that, I am always very nervouse when I put an OC out there, and it makes me happy people in general are so positive about my characters.
Well, good question, and to answer that I think it’s the same as answering.. how does any-one write good characters in the first place? And there is no real answer to that, and it isn’t even always that my original characters work out as good as I had hoped either.. the thing is, there is just no telling before it’s put on paper, some characters doesn’t even work that well at first but then sneaks up on you and suddenly you find yourself caring, or the other way around, your intrigued by first impression but as times run by the character becomes sickening. Writing is an artist process and I might have an sort of idea what I want when I start out, but it will always end up becoming way different than I had imagined.
I think the biggest mistake often happening with other OC’s in fanfiction is that they are sort of an self insertion of the writer, both in troubles the character have, and how they wished they would appear and being viewed, it becomes over shadowing and obnoxious, to put it shortly, annoying! there even is a word for this, it's called being a Mary Sue. It's a common mistake for writers who are simply, still very young, you can grow out of it. It's no trouble, but whether this is a huge giant wise serpant who gives advice (creatures like this only ever works if they have a bad memorie to.) or a sad miss understood young girl who just wants to be appreciated.. I know it sucks being a kid, we all wished this at some point while growing up, but it makes for an annoying Mary sue.
When I write, and when I write a new character I like to think that I am writing caricatures, most literately, whether it’s a character who just makes a small cameo for plot convenience or a larger reappearing character, I will always lay out making them some sort of caricature, create a firm mental image and at least trying to make it amusing in some way and then go from there. I do believe all the best characters in the world started out in a good firm caricature grounding of some kind of human aspect and then it went out from there. J.K. Rowling is a master in caricatures and that is all of her characters, it leaves a lasting impression and stands out, exactly because the unique aspects is so huge and obvious even if not ideal for human beings.. also, I also think small comments such as “To big front teethes.” “Wearing a thousand necklaces.” “there weren’t a spot on the business suit” “Ugly yellow and green striped tie.” Weird amusing comments like that helps creating a more lasting impression, and I like weird! I like weird different characters, I like caricatures. I hate it when a character is perfect, wheter is just a nice bloke who helps out or what ever, there needs to be some side to this, even if it's just a very short one line appearance. I need characters to be limited.. I hate the word "realisitic" when it comes to writing or movies or what ever, it's a dump word, you are creating a caricature story with caricature characters and I would rather call it.. characters with limited abilities who have to make do with what they got. No matter what book or movie we talk about.
I also think character function is a good thing, if a character have firm function and earned their place in the story, not by talking or be a magical problem solver but by actually doing shit, they are a lot harder to be annoyed with them, and if they themselves take some kind of initiative instead of waiting around for other to do the work, but again, depends on the character, if a character is coward that makes for a good trait to though I wouldn’t expect that character to be the hero of the story.
It always come back to the caricatures, I write all of my characters as caricatures, whether its OC’s or Fan characters and I am not attempting trying to turn them into anything else.. because, these caricatures actually tells us a lot more truth about people than real human beings, we simply as humans have to many sides to us to make up for any consistent character, and the characters on the page are the different sides of us given a voice so they can talk to each other and drive the arguments with often have. There is a little bit of me in every character I write all though I don’t come across as being in the least like any of them, and that’s how writing works. Or at least.. mine does.
Please keep on writing.
Don't worry I will, you needn't ask (seriously, I get this plea so often.) I am not going to stop writing! you don't need to worry!
Can I ask a randomn weird question?
sure! shoot, it will be weird if I don't answer, because I always do..
You are evil!
trust me I know, and I never claimed to be otherwise or even nice, because I am not. I am a woman for crying out loud, and any story needs tension dammit.
