Author has written 11 stories for Inheritance Cycle, Castle, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Mentalist, Dragon Age, and Star Wars.
Gender (not that it matters): Like most fanfiction writers, I am female.
Age: 24. I'm quite a bit older than most of you, but that's alright. I enjoy what you have to offer just as I hope you enjoy mine. And I've had a fanfiction account for over 10 years now. I don't care that my friends judge me for this.
Who am I?
Well, you see, that is an interesting question. If I were being coy, and I often am, I would say that I am a product of twenty or so years of life experiences that have culminated in the formation of a personality that I consider and am able to identify as me. But again, that's if I were being cryptic and pretentious. What you who actually read this profile really want to know is what those characteristic are that make me, well, me, so allow me to enlighten you.
Outside of fanfiction, aspiring author, ethologist, a veterinary technician, cosplayer, gamer and all around geek. I explore many more fandoms than those in which I write, and I spend time a great deal of time in a world of my own making (my novel) when I get tired of the real one. Cosplay, cons and Ren Faires tend to be my outlet for dealing with the banal and mundane nature of the "real world." Additionally, I am dealing with an addiction to Dragon Age and the world of Thedas. Thusly, I have a great number of Dragon Age cosplays in the works and one (Morrigan) finished. Right now Solas and Lavellan are my OTP and I don't know whether that will change anytime soon. (written in 2015. It is now 2018 and they are still my OTP)
Other little things:
I wish I could be an elf, any kind of elf really. (although right now being Elvhen would be really awesome). I have also been described by many people who don't even know me, as being elven in appearance, despite being slightly overweight. I'm sure looking a good bit like Arwen helps, but I also think its in the way I look at the world... I'm just a Tolkien elf at heart.
I can say hello in 4 different elven languages: The Ancient Language, Quenya, Sindarin, and Elvhen
When I do eventually publish my novel (series), my goal is to have one other person be as obsessed with my world as I am.
I am an Ally and loosely bisexual, which is a huge part of my life. I really enjoy fandoms that incorporate LGBTQ issues into them well. I believe very strongly that if you are part of the LGBTQ community, you should take strides to embrace being an Ally as well.
Krem is amazing.
I own a horse, which I intend to teach mounted archery and dress in full medieval barding. I don't know how he will take this but so far, he likes the blanket I made him.
This is probably the most important part of my page
Why do I write:
Where to begin, where to begin...
The first true story I ever wrote was when I was seven. Before that, I hated writing. It was a kind story, a fairy tale of sorts, based off of the "Three Little Pigs". (and now I think of it, my first fanfiction) I didn't really get into writing without school assignments until I was ten. Then I began to write for myself. This was of course after reading things like Harry Potter and Warriors (I read the first Harry Potter book when I was six so it has a special place in my heart along with the whole series) My first good writing was not until I was twelve. It came to me suddenly, and idea for a book spawned from one of my school writing assignments. Oh yes, I'd thought of writing one before but never gotten through the first few chapters. This time was different. I finished the book. It was the first piece of art ever done for my own pleasure, at least writing wise. When it was fully written, across three notebooks mind you, it covered 503pp not including the first five or six chapters because, quite frankly, they were terrible. If you ever see the MoonAurora Chronicles on some bookstore shelf pick it up and try it. You'll be surprised. I write stories, primarily for my own enjoyment because, conceited person that I am, I like to read my own work over and over again until I know it all. I also write because too often, now, I find myself climbing through shelves in the bookstore, searching for something, some story, I have not read, and too often, I find the same tired archetypes stretched over flimsy pages. I long for something new, for the Tolkien of our time to crawl from some remote corner of the world and present us with the masterpiece of fantasy for our era. I know that will not be me. I am no denizen of the highest echelon of script, but the tales I spin for myself help me hold on for the time that it takes for me to find that one person who opens my eyes to a new experience of writing.
So there you have it. There is no other reason. Thanks for reading.
Why do I write FanFiction:
It is a fair point, and perhaps a decent contradiction to many authors rights, that fanfiction might be a compliment. That is to say that it proves their work inspires thought. It spawns the "What ifs" and "How bouts" and "What happens nexts" that for the basis of the tendrils of though that form into what we in the fanfiction world affectionately call 'plot bunnies.' As aspiring writers in some manner it gives us a framework on which to develop our creative sensibilities and allows us to step outside these stories that we love and live and expand them into even large universes partially our own. It allows us to work with characters with whom we have spent hours of our lives and show the depth to which we have come to understand them. We use it as practice and as penance to the great tales of our time and we hope that our ideas might spawn new thoughts, or indeed develop into something greater, a work that we could use and re-use until it is a worn and tattered book on someones bedside table, changed beyond recognition. The fanfiction is the seed that becomes the greater story.
We grow, sometimes stagnate and then grow some more, learning through these worlds in which we play until we join the ranks of those whose stories spawn more fanfiction, or at least those who aspire to do. That is why I dwell in this shadowy world of blackmarket tales.
All you truly need to know about me:
Harry Potter drives my life. The person I am was built around that particular world of fantasy. JK Rowling shaped my consciousness and helped me to become the person I am today. That said, I did go to the final Harry Potter premier dressed as Bellatrix Lestrange. Yes, I did duel with my sister even though I'm almost legally an adult. Yes, I did scream "crucio" at someone too. And do you know what the best part of that whole night was. No, it wasn't the fact that the last Harry Potter movie came out and I go to see it at midnight; it wasn't the teaming crowds of Harry Potter fans. It was the fact that, among all of the people in that theater, the person at which I pointed my wand, fell to the ground and screamed, just because it was as much fun for her as it was for me, just because, this was the Harry Potter fan's last "Hurrah!" before we had to fall back into the woodwork and become Muggles again.
Pairings: Alright, I'm going to open this can of worms. I don't want to write them all down, because I personally find that annoying but I'll write down the big ones. You'll find I tend to go for the ones that are canon. There are only a few that fall outside of it.
OTPs: Solas/Lavellan (Var lath, vir suledin)
Dragon Age: Leliana/Josephine, Cassandra/Cullen (I accidentally made this work in my fanfiction and for whatever reason, it stuck with me.)
Harry Potter: Harry/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, Luna/Neville, Dumbledore/McGonagall (I support this in a romantic friendship sort of way when its really well written.) Tonks/Lupin (RIP)
Doctor Who: 11th & 12th Doctor/River, 10th Doctor/Donna, Clara/Danny, Amy/Rory
Mass Effect: FemShep/Kaidan, FemShep/Garrus, FemShep/Thane, Shep/Liara (I genuinely think she was the option we were meant to go with in the games.) Joker/EDI
Star Wars: Welp, here's where I become "one of those people" Kylo/Rey (I know, I know. But I'm a sucker for tragically complex romances), Han/Leia, Finn/Poe (one-sided), I would also like to see Finn and Rose happen, because I don't want to see Rose get hurt but I am not fully convinced Finn feels that way. Anakin/Padme
Firefly: Mal/Inara, Simon/Kailey
Assassin's Creed: Canon relationships all except for Kenway/Read Hello, there was definitely something there.
Torchwood: Jack/Gwen (ugh, I know but its there. Don't get me wrong, I loved Ianto -- *glares slyly up at OTP* but I just really sensed Gwen and Jack even though I love Rhys)
Sleepy Hollow: Crane/Abby
