This is Aisha, your friendly neighborhood fanfiction writer!
I was in the neighborhood and just thought I'd check in and tell you a little bit about myself and some of my work. So, here goes!
I'm a college student and therefore poor and I have a terrible tendency to love all the expensive shit I can't have in life, but then proceed to buy. I have a problem and I am working on it...sometimes. I read a nearly ridiculous amount of literature, though not a lot of adolescent, or childrens' work, I just don't find it interesting anymore and think that, in general, has gravitated toward a fairly morbid, dismal place from what it used to be. I do read a lot of classic and contemporary lit, though nothing in present tense if I can help it, I get this ridiculous feeling of anxiety when I read present tense so I try and avoid it at all costs.
I have a deep and abiding love of notebooks, especially moleskines, as I always seem to have atleast one on hand, stationery and pens. Also, Filofaxes, I just bought my first one a couple of months ago and I love him! (Yes, it is a him and he is a very lovely, distinguished gentleman, whom I call Mycroft, because I love him.) I have just a drawer filled with this kind of stuff and shit.
My writing, while not exactly honed, is, I like to think, as on par, if not better than some of the people on here, but this is purely a personal opinion and there are people who will and may disagree. That's fine. But anyway, I don't really like action or anything too suspenseful, as I don't think that I can write that appropriately. I do prefer to work on more relationship based ideas and drama...I like to think of it as coffee shop romances: quaint, nothing too heavy, endearing, familiar, introspective. Because of this I do tend to write shorter chapters with not a lot of movement, but I am working on that. My earlier work I tend to like a little better than my current work, also I really like my collaboration pieces with my sister (thedarkersister3), as it tends to have that general feel I like reading about in books.
Also, I don't like writing heterosexual relationships. I, myself, am heterosexual, but I love the homosexual dynamic; especially between men. I think their all kinds of awesome, so most of my work will reflect that. Sorry if this offends anyone, but really I DO WHAT I WANT! DON'T BE JUDGING ME! I was raised Christian; I believe that all people are created equal; I am a feminist (though not extreme and i don't read the literature, but then again I do, but I don't study feminist lit)' I am biracial. Don't be raging on groups on my review tab and we won't have a problem.
So, my works have mainly been on relationships, past and present, and I am fairly current on movies and tv and I do some research before writing, but if some of my info is off that may be creative license I've taken on my work. Don't take it personally, I just like things a certain way, for some reason and I can be very picky about nothing. I don't really have a very tight, plot-driven storyline, but I tend to like things like that, because time shouldn't matter when it comes to some instances. Also, all of my relationships have a definite top/bottom dynamic, I know this is not always true, but that just makes it more like the homosexual relationships that I am familiar with, though I fully acknowledge that one can be both in any relationship, this dynamic works best for me. Also, I am a VERY consistent pairer; the dynamic rarely changes though the relationship might.
There is more to say, but I think that is all right now. Ummm...if you have questions about doing some collabs, or you need some research done on an idea, I may be able to help with that. Also, I am willing help organize ideas into a plotline and characterizations, etc. to help in the writing process as a beta. So, feel free to PM me.
That's all for now, thanks for reading and I hope you continue to do so. Also, PLEASE REVIEW!!!!!
