News/ Random thoughts:
So its been forever and a half since I've done anything to this account. I may have sent a few reviews but that's it. Bottom line, life happened. An unexpected death in my family seriously changed everything in my life, but I've since recovered (barely).
I think I've grown up a lot since I first joined FF.net, and have finally gotten to a point where I'm mostly independent and in control of more aspects of my life. With that said, I should be able to set some time aside to write. Can't really promise though since I'm working full time now. But I really need a hobby, so I'll try and make time for this and for the novel I have been planning for the last decade.
As far as my 2 in-progress stories, House of Many Riddles and The Longest Summer, I really just want to close out these stories just to be done with them. Keep in mind this is because I started them both when I was a teenager, and now that I'm a boring adult, I no longer feel the passion I once felt for them. Also, reading through them, I almost feel disappointment in myself for letting them get so unpolished with muddled story progression.
As much as I just want to write a one sentence chapter stating, "And they all lived happily ever after" and that's it, I feel that would be unfair to all of us. Abandoning them would be just as bad, and I know that's what it appears like with 4 years and no updates. But I do aim to finish them both. Maybe re-write them after they are completed to make them feel more consistent and polished (no promises here, though). I think with the chapters that have already been published, I'll go ahead and think of those as the first arch of the story. Whatever I write from now on will be part II and may take place a few months later or so. Just so I have a new base to work with.
I doubt I'll write any multi-chaptered stories after this because I'm just so bad with updating them, even when I had no life. If I do, they will be way better planned out. I'll do an outline and the whole bit. But in the meantime, I think I'll just stick to one-shots for any new stories. Easy stuff that will just get me back into the writing mood.
Anyways, Happy Reading! _
