Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
Lex is my pseudonym, and I'd prefer to be called that on here, though if you know me from elsewhere I will respond to other usernames. I'm an English major and I'm usually really sleepy 99% of the time.
I guess you could say I've been on here for a while, though not nearly as long as others have. I've dabbled in writing things I sincerely regard as necessary evils, since they were so awful but almost required for growth.
I like storytelling across all media, which is a short way of putting that I soak in comics, cartoons, TV shows, movies, and books like a sponge.
Out of all the stories I published on here, The Bet— a Draco/Hermione fanfiction— proved to be the most popular. However, as my writing skill grew and I became more particular with my content, I found myself displeased with it. The story is still leagues from where I want to be as a writer, but I do find it incredibly more tolerable. It is now back up, reworked and changed slightly.
When I started it, I wanted to write a literary cliché and make it good. (I failed miserably.) I'm not too good at writing romances, so I thought this would be great practice, especially because my preference for Draco/Hermione came about from reading a fanfiction that made their improbable relationship work. (I failed at this too.)
The Bet still retains its most basic premise: Draco and Hermione find themselves, on their honor, bound to make Blaise Zabini eat his words. Due to a bet (yes, that trope), they begin dating. I've added another trope in there for good measure (the "we're just pretending to date" trope) in this version, along with different circumstances and a much slower progression (sorry). Some things will be hella AU, so have some suspension of disbelief. I won't stray too far from precious canon though, so don't worry.
I've created a Twitter:in case any of you would like a more open Q&A format when it comes to my writing, since this website has yet to develop something other than a really rudimentary PM system.
If you're still here, thank you.
