![]() Author has written 65 stories for Harry Potter, and Hunger Games. I don't spend much time on here anymore, but I still get notifications for reviews and read and respond to each one. Attention currently devoted to SlightlySmaller (born June 2014) and SignificantlySmaller (born December 2015), as well as writing original fiction. :) I grew up with Harry Potter. I read the first book when I was 11, and probably the second as well. But then I had to start waiting for them to come out to read the next. So I read Harry Potter between ages 11 and 18. I AM the Harry Potter generation. Despite this, I wasn't completely obsessed with them (the way I veritably am now) until a few years ago. I'm American, but I bought my copy of the series in Scotland. This leads to some strange inconsistencies the few times I quote... I'm a prolific journal writer. And a bit obsessive about how I write in my journals. Actually, I'm a bit obsessive about a lot of things. Looking for somewhere to start reading? This story is what I am most proud of. Complete at 50,000 words. It's 3003 and Rowena Potter is nearly finished with her sixth year at Hogwarts. A mysterious object found in the Forbidden Forest opens her up to a world of adventure - one with implications about her past, the history of the world she thought she knew, and a future she has to make for herself. Please give it a try, even if you don't think OCs are your thing. Snippets of reviews: "Rowena is both created and written in a absolutely awesome way, so far away from a Mary-Sue you can possibly come! You really have a skill of creating a whole new world... without leaving the original Harry Potter universe." "The whole story reads very much like a canon piece, using many plot devices that come from the original or draw on its style and purpose. The original characters are very in keeping with this but have a life of their own and are not derivative in the sense of being copies of JK characters. There were parallels with characters we know and love, but not carbon-copies." "Extremely enjoyable story, with a strong and coherent plot and characterisation. I highly recommend this to anyone who loved the original stories and wants to read a plot-led story that is so much more than fun fluff and is true to the original." "You write action really well, first of all. I can picture everything very clearly, what's going on, and I really like your description of the Forest as well. You've painted a very vivid picture in my mind here, and I love that I can visualize what's going on - that's the mark of an excellent storyteller, in my opinion." I, slightlysmall, have challenged myself! I am a proud member of the HPFC forum. Stories that have placed in competitions: Forging Bravery won first place in HedwigBlack's Song Lyric Competition!
