Explanation of My Writings, Etc. As of early 2013, will be updated eventually)
Well, I joined this website 6 years ago when I was 13. It was the summer just before my 8th grade year. I used to have some Naruto fanfics on here, but after re-reading them after a couple years, I visibly cringed at my writing and had some pretty bad flashbacks to my weaboo fangirl days. No shame, though. We all went through that phase early on in our teens.
The earliest writings I have on here as of now are some old stories from my Left 4 Dead fandom days and some Call of Duty stuff. I was just starting to leave the whole weaboo thing, so there's still some irrational fangirl in those stories and some really bad writing. However, I keep them around for nostalgic reasons.
Guide to Owning and L4D Character, Denial, Memories, Flowers for You, and One Nightmare After the Other are the fanfics I consider the worst among the list of stories I have here.
Roach's Mental Notes, Cold Blooded, Cure for the Itch, and Variety are some of the early writings that I actually consider okay or decent. Roach's Mental Notes will always hold a special place in my heart though, because despite the time at which I wrote that and the mind frame I had, it came out surprisingly comical and decent. Also, the reception to it was positive and people genuinely liked it.
NZ: Alcohol, NZ: I Win, Dancing Partner, Strictly Friends, Winter's Howl, and Power Play are the stories where I started focusing more on trying to improve my writing. However, this was also the stage where all I cared about was smut and didn't really pay much attention to plot. We all go through that smut-only stage whenever reading/writing fanfiction, but most of us learn to appreciate stories with actual plot. I actually prefer stories with plot to PWP stories now.
Then we enter the glorious stage of co-writing. Now I actually had a writing partner (Usagi323) whom I could world build with and improve my own writing while also helping her as well. This is where I really began to appreciate plot. A Breathe of Fresh Air was our experimental RP to see how well we worked with each other while writing. Luckily, my first [and current] RP partner and I had very, very good writing chemistry. We cranked stuff out so quickly, yet efficiently, and it was still pretty decent to read. World building, planning, and character development became very important to me, and it really helped me develop a sense of appreciation for stories that actually had plot and planning instead of just sex, sex, sex, irrational character reactions/actions, and more sex.
Cold As Ice, Warm as the Sun, Nymphetamine Addiction, and Bucolic and Noblesse [currently in progress] are all multi-chapter stories that Usagi323 and I have written. I'm very proud of these stories because when I read these and then reflect on my past writings, I'm able to see how far I've come in terms of maturity, appreciation, and ability.
Around the same time that these stories were written, I also wrote some solo stuff as well. Slip Up and Crave the Sun are two of my current solo writings. They are both heavily influenced by my RP's with Usagi323, which I think shows clearly whenever compared to my earlier solo stuff. Crave the Sun has a little plot to it, though nothing major. Slip Up's plot is very subtle, but there. I suppose you could consider it PWP, but it's meaningful PWP, not just some hardcore smut or fanservice.
But yeah...so far, this is my record of writing fanfiction [since 8th grade, at least]. I will continually update this for all who are interested in reading about my writing.
