Just posted Track 19 of Noize, this brings the first "album" to a close and the first major plot arch. Don't worry, there is more to come. In the meantime Noize will be on hiatus while I work on Damaged, yes I promise to finish it this time.

My dog saved my life. I don't mean in the "Timmy fell in the well" sense, I mean in the emotional support sense. I used to have a schnauzer that I thought the world of, and when he died of random and sudden liver/kidney failure it destroyed me. I went several years without a dog, I got a cat, and while I have no problems otherwise with the feline kind, I'm a dog person. My cat, Murray, was a comfort and a joy, if not a little asshole at times.

I was driving home from work late one night, and saw what I thought was a plastic bag under a tree, it lifted its head and I slammed on the brakes to investigate. What I thought was a plastic bag, was a little dirty white dog. Someone didn't want this little dog anymore, so they tied it to a telephone pole by the tree, and just left him. I took him home, and wasn't even sure it was a "him" for a day or so. The munchkin was covered in matted fur, had a bad case of fleas, worms, and I could count the bones in his back by just running my fingers down his spine. No collar, no ID, my vet later confirmed that he wasn't chipped either. May the gods forgive me, due to the condition I found him in I wasn't inclined to hang up lost dog posters.

I named him Cosmo, because as far as I was concerned he just dropped out of the sky. He had housebreaking issues, is a little escape artist (two groomers have him down as a Houdini dog), and is just so damn happy to be here. For a while there it was a game of "guess the breed" but we seem to have settled on someones sadistic idea of a designer dog called a Malti-chion. A Maltese-Bichion mix. He has the manners and bark of a Bichion, but the impossible hair and stand-offish behavior of a Maltese. Its like someone set out to make the most stubborn and high maintenance dog possible, but so cute you can't help but love them. Yet he walks on a leash well enough and has no problems with being in a kennel on piles on blankets and a chew toy.

I started waking up earlier. This little dog got me out of bed in the morning, and actually enjoying the outside world again. I started meeting more dog people, would spend hours at the local dog park watching the "kids" play. Cosmo would greet me with excited chirps and barks when I came home after a long day at work, a more welcome greeting than Murray's "You're home, feed me" routine. When I'm feeling bad, Cosmo climbs up in my lap or beside me and either licks my cheeks or just plays. No one works harder than a dog to ensure a happy family.

Cosmo woke me up. While I still have my depressive days, getting out and about with my dog has helped to lessen the isolation. His vet visits also encouraged me to start seeing my doctors again to hopefully find a better medication to manage my depression/bipolar/whatthefuckever. Wanting a better life for this little dog helped me to want a better life for me. I miss my schnauzer, and I know that when Cosmo eventually passes, I'll miss him too. But until then, there is a whole world out there to explore together, and a lot of trees to pee on.

Depression sucks. Its sucks for the person that has it, and it really sucks for the few people that insist on being around those that have it. Its a draining, exhausting little defect of the human mind and I can't figure out where the hell in the line of human evolution laying around in bed all day wishing for the world to just end would have ever come in handy. All hail Welbutrin, my god of tolerable days and nightly vivid dreams of my ex. All hail Naproxen, the fay that keeps planter fasciitis at bay during 12 hour shifts spent running hither and yon on concrete. And as always, my unending love for the Goddess Caffeine, who comes to me in many forms, but my favorite being the cup of coffee with my co-workers on our lunch break every night. Then I go home to an empty house, pet/feed the cat, and go to bed.

Depression sucks.

All of you are saints to put up with my haphazard posting schedule. I'm working crazy hours right now so any attempts to set aside a part of my day to actually sit and focus on writing are typically thwarted by my boss calling me up and asking if I can come in early or work a double because someone called out. Or like the past three weeks where I have been covering for someone that's out on medical leave where I have to crawl out of bed at 3:30 am so I can get to work in time to watch the chickens start to die. But it pays the bills, so unless I hit the nerd lottery and the Black Library actually wants to pay me to write Noize, I will just have to power through and make do with what I can get.

But that doesn't mean I don't have plans. I'm going to finish out this Album of Noize and then take a hiatus from my favorite bastards to put my full focus into Damaged. I have a lot in mind for the Mewtwos, and I don't want to short the fans by turning out half-assed work. Noize will becoming to a stopping point "soonish" and then I will make Damaged shine like its supposed to.

I just posted Track 12 of Noize. I was trying to avoid doing yet another "cool down" track. I've fallen into a pattern and I hate doing that. Battle!--wrap up--Battle!--wrap up, etc. Unfortunately I felt the story needed it. Track 13 is going to the Orks, and one does not simply mush Orks in between cracks. They find their way out with extreme prejudice and gleefully rip apart everything in their path to create unusual yet effective weaponry. So for the sake of keeping the collateral damage at a minimum, the battle with the Orks is getting its own track.

Thank you so much for all the encouraging PM's, hopefully I will work out something that looks like a schedule again.

June 16, 2014

Well this post was a long time coming. This month there will be no update to Noize, I'm hoping that by next month I'll have the track ready as well as a bit of my buffer back so I can keep posting "on time." A bit of life and quite a bit more depression has gotten in the way since my last post, so its been a struggle. Lost one job, got another one, been adjusting to a new schedule as well as an exercise regimen because I need one. Finally got the paperwork straightened out for my home so now its MINE. Not a banks, not a co-signer, thats my damn name on the paper. So like any good home owner I've been spending a lot of my time trying to make it more cozy...and yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off my lawn and stop throwing their trash in my garden beds. Kinda an odd juxtaposition when I finish nourishing a neglected rose bush back to health, then sit in front of the lappy all nice and relaxed then try to get myself in the mood for Noize which involves a lot of killing in new and horrible ways. Needless to say some of that has subconsciously worked its way into the next Track.

Not sure where the sudden surge in love for Angseth has come from, but thank you all the same!

I've gotten a few PMs and reviews on when I will update Damaged again. The simple answer is "I don't know." It will be updated, and it will be finished, but please understand when I say that I have completely razed that house of cards down to its foundations. It is not the same story that it was when I wrote it purt-near 15 years ago. I have learned and evolved myself since then, and so has the Pokemon fandom. Damaged is challenged by the way that Pokemon has changed over the years. I haven't played a game since Gold/Silver, so I have to re-learn and teach myself all these new bells and whistles that came in the later games. "What do you mean their personalities aren't compatible? Does my boss care if my personality is compatible with my co-workers? Eat a fracking berry and get back in there! We have HOURS more worth of grinding to do before I even read the name on the Gym!" There are a few plot devices that need to be changed because they no longer apply to the universe.

That and you know you're getting old when you sit down to watch a few eps and find yourself thinking "You know, Professor Oak ain't that bad lookin."

Just posted Track 02 of my newest fic, Noize. Noize is my love letter to the Warhammer 40k universe. While I am normally all about the good guys, (and I love the Ultramarines with all of my heart) I've taken a break from the norm and embraced the dark side. I had just finished reading the Fulgrim novel in the Horus Heresy series, and went to visit a gamer friend of mine. I told him about the novel, and he became all giddy then dove into his storage room and emerged ten minutes later with a pair of metal figurines. They were little Space Marines with outrageous mohawks and clip-fed guitars. Noise Marines circa 1991. I had never seen something that passed ridiculous, smacked awesome on the back of the head and kept running. I was smitten. I started diving into the older lore, the older codexes, the pool of over-the-top abilities that had formed the backbone of 40k in the early days. In contrast the recent material seems to have forgotten to laugh at itself, with some exceptions (Ciaphas!!). So gleaning info from all of these sources, I hope that I have come up with a story to satisfy even the most die-hard fan.

Tailed Madman, I thank you deeply for sticking with me, for being there when I'm pulling my hair out, and for editing these monster tracks I keep laying down on you. Boris, thank you so much for tracking down some of the older 40k figures for my collection. I adore my vintage Noise Marine and the beakies that keep him company. Don't know where I would be without you guys!

sips her whiskey sour* Its finally done. Five years, a marriage, a divorce, numerous location and job changes, and Angseth is finally done. Not to say there won't be nitpicks, and I'll probably end up hearing about some kind of soul crushing typo that I will need to go back and fix, but its done. To all of the readers that have stuck with this beast over the years, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, its been a great ride. A special shout-out to The Tailed Madman for being such a wonderful help in not only beta reading, but helping me keep a positive outlook when it comes to my writing. Would that the world had more people like you.

Now that I've had my say, if anyone wants to use any of the characters, places or themes I had established in Angseth, have at it. I have no intention of adding any more to the story as it currently stands, but that doesn't mean that the characters lives and adventures have to end here. Just let me know because I enjoy reading about them too!

Once again, thank you so so very much!

August 11, 2013

Why has it taken me so long to update? Easy.

Angseth--Goddamn Dungeons.

Damaged--GoDDamN DunGeonS

On a more serious note, now that Damaged Part 1 is finished, I'm taking a hiatus from that story to focus on and finish Angseth more fully. I also want to get a head start on Damaged part 2 so it can be posted on a more reliable time table. I left an opening at the end of part one in case any Mewtwo fanfic authors would like to have their characters make cameos in the fic. Much thanks to Lucas and Boris for allowing me to have fun with their boys!

Oh yeah, and come November...Its going to get LOUD for the WH40K fans.

May 19, 2013

First off, a great big thank you to all the readers, both old and new, these stories would just be psychobabble without you. And now just a couple of notes regarding the fics:

Angseth: I'm going to start posting in two chapter chunks when I update. There isn't as much work to be done on this story, and I almost have the ending chapters finished anyway. For all the older readers of this fic, just keep checking the updates, you will know them when you see them. Reviews are nice, but they aren't the end-all be all for my writing, that and it feels a little cheap to ask for reviews on a fic that had been posted before. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Damaged: *head hits desk* This fic is a mess. My readers from way back when knew it, I knew it, and now I'm trying to do something about it. Please, please forgive the length of time between posts, I'm trying to do both the story and the readers right. Many of the long time fans of this fic will notice the changes I have made in the recent (and coming) chapters. I am trying to keep the story intact, as well as eliminating some of the more "fluffy" bits that just serve to inhale space without delivering any real plot. So far the chapters feel cleaner and more cohesive, and while there may be some scenes missing, I hope you will agree that the story is much smoother now than the grammatical and layout mess it once was. If there is something you would like to see, or some sacred cow in the work you as a reader would like to see left alone or expounded upon, please let me know in the reviews or just PM me.

Thank you all so very much for your patience!

Reposting/rebooting my fics. Took the time out to work out (hopefully) all of the grammatical and layout kinks. I will post chapters as I finish them.
