I'm a reader. It's what I do. It's who I am. My friends have always told me I was a bookworm. See, it all started with my mother...*tells unnecessary story* And once in fifth grade...*tells a completely true but still unnecessary story* And more recently...well, I found this website. Which gives me something to read between my last favorite series and my next favorite series. And make no mistake, I prefer series to stand-alones.
I also like to talk about the things I read, so don't be surprised if I try to hold a full conversation with you about ... well, anything.
I've noticed an interesting change in my reading habits on this site. When I found it I was a fan of just about anything that blew up. I'll confess that the things-that-go-boom are still fun to me. Now I just like a good reason for them to explode. (Explosions are just a metaphor by the way. Though I'm not sure it's a good one...)
So no offense if I've un-favorited somebody's story on here. I still have them in my alerts, just in case.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when somebody uses a word that has no business being in the sentence. Even if it IS similar to the intended word, it drives me insane. I honestly wish I could just meet the freaking Beta requirements to offer my grammatical services.
Seriously. I'm not good at writing, but I'll be damned if I'm not good at helping others at the job.
Obviously it doesn't irritate me enough to stop reading the offending material, but it's the thought that counts.
Another pet peeve of mine...You know how everyone all over every anime and manga series just about ever throws around the name of their attack when they do it? Sometimes that just gets real old, real fast. Like in Naruto, these people are supposedly ninja, assassins. They're screaming out the names of the attacks they use, which gives anyone with a brain a good idea what's coming. So, just a suggestion, try to have them keep their mouth shut when they do things. Especially ones that involve their mouth, like the fireballs.
Ok, so I've reached the point of desperation. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to re-find a story I'd previously discovered. It was a Harry Potter/Stargate Atlantis cross-over. A surprisingly good one. The only other thing I can think to add specifically is that in this story Harry was adopted by the Flamels. I think I've been over every listing in the actual crossover list and found nothing. If someone knows what it's called, or where it can be found (or, heaven forbid, has the actual link), it'd be greatly appreciated. It may even earn you an I-O-U. Thanks.
Add to this list a sort of NarutoxHinata story. Mostly just pissed off Naruto years after her death at (*gasp* Sakura and Madara's) hands. I think. More details as I remember them.
I was talking with my brother one day and we both noticed something rather interesting...
Obito obi to
Plus Tobi (or Madara or who-ever's) RIGHT eye is uncovered, and Obito donated his LEFT eye to Kakashi. Do I think it's conclusive? Not even a little. Do I think it's true? Also not even close. Do I think it would make for an interesting Fanfiction story?
You'd better believe it.
(Edit 10-13-11: ...Holy crap! I still think this theory has holes in it, but after Chapter 559...I don't know...Entirely possible now.)
Something I find rather amusing about this site are the misnamed reviews. Does anyone actually use them for reviewing? I think they could more accurately be called feedback.
This has been an awful month. June sucks, everyone. (Or, more likely, no one) No one's updating anything (and I've got about 60 stories on alert), the weather is NOT favorable, I've only seen my girlfriend three times (and won't again until sometime in July), the weather sucks, there are no good book releases, all the internet around here seems to be hanging below 3 Mbps, I don't have a decent computer, I've not played a decent game in months (one, that is, that I haven't played through and beaten a dozen times over...or that's been released in the last 5 years), and I've got three weeks of job training to look forward to. It says something when that last one is the most fun I'm likely to have for a while.
