Author has written 14 stories for Silmarillion, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon, and Skies of Arcadia.
I'm Ardil the Traveller, more commonly known nowadays as Air Pirate Ris - the main reason I haven't changed it here is because people recognise this name. I write on FicWad as Air Pirate Ris, as expanded readership is always a good thing - should anyone come here from that site and recognise my work, I'm not plagiarising anyone, it's mine!
I'm a writer and physicist, and I'm interested in just about every aspect of how this amazing universe of ours actually works, a fascination that carries over into my stories, where I try as hard as I can to ensure that everything makes sense, at least within the rules of the story. I can be calm, sensible, and even philosophical, or alternatively completely hyper and crazy, but I keep that side of myself away from my stories, where I'd far rather be taken seriously. I also enjoy drawing, and a few of the results can be found here.
Right now, most of my fanfic writing is focused on Project Blur: the big Sonic project my friend Sparky and I are working on under the pen name Chaotic Alliance. Fundamentally, the premise is this: the games up to Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were amazing, and then a lot of rather strange and terrible things happened - but inside each of those often rather awful games is a nugget of something that can be nurtured back to life as, we hope, a story worth reading. We love Sonic far too much to just give up on him and his friends over a few sucky games!
Wow, is this profile outdated. That's what I get for not being here for a few years, huh. Well - so much for that! I'm back! Again. Also, whoever you are out there who's still reading, recommending, and even reviewing the old ones even after all this inactive time? You guys are AWESOME! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy my work!

Ages ago, I was supposed to be writing a total of 200 stories for a fanfic challenge on LiveJournal - 100 for Sonic and company, 100 for Skies of Arcadia's Silvites. I never finished, and most of them will never make it over here, since I don't consider them good enough, but if you're interested, the prompt tables and accompanying story links are:
Only Yesterday is finished! Yes!
