Hi guys, and welcome to my profile.
I try to write whenever I get a few extra minutes here and there. I'm currently employed. I am an engineer.
How I get the idea for a story:
I work with ideas. I write ideas more than the story. Unless I'm writing purely for the beauty of the written word. Or I am in a creative trance and words just flow out of me. Or I write the mood.
Ideas for fanfics come to me in the form of either dialogues or visual scenes, and I build my way around that. Often, more than characters, it is the personality traits that come to me. And, often, what I write here is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of it is in my head. All hail the head !
Its hard work for me to write anything beyond one-shots so far, though...lack of time and all. I'll work on that.
I'M CRAZY ABOUT REVIEWS. Everyone is crazy about appreciations. And we don't get enough of it at work. So, give a woman a little love.
I would also love to get some ideas on how to proceed with a story. So again, reviewers are most welcome.
"Ideas belong to whoever expresses them the best." I don't know which dude said these words, but he sure is a wise dude.
Mine is, mostly, a dialogue centric writing. Probably, because human interactions fascinate me. Nope, it's the mind that fascinates me. Psychology is one of my favourite topics.
I hate romance fiction, coz, of poor writing, emphasis on relationships rather than individuality, insignificant female characters, male dominance and totally lustful, macho, superficial, love scenes. Maybe I should write an article on that.
Though I hate romance so much, a lot of my fanfics tend to focus on couples and their interactions, coz, it's easy to write. (I guess I just realised why there are a lot of cheesy romance fiction around, Hypocrite, much?). Human interactions. Two people playing off of each other, etc. That's easy.
No worries, I'm working on expanding.
A Little...Complaint Against Twilight:
I hate twilight, coz, it's ridiculous that a girl's life is totally centred around her boyfriend. And a glittery boyfriend, at that. Get a life, Bella. Committing suicide, by exposing a well-built body? Pleasssse...Werewolves, (sorry, shape-shifters) who are always shirtless? Imprinting on a baby? I mean, come on !!!
I really did like Jacob, only because, he at least was flawed and interesting, and only till the imprinting part. The whole thing sounds like a means of wish fulfillment for 13 year olds (No offense to 13 year olds).
I respect canon, so, I mostly write to just fill gaps...although, I do get a lotta ideas involving deviations from canon. Alternate realities. Wish for things to have gone differently. Etc.
I read. I love Harry Potter, A Song of ice and fire, Agatha Christie's, Michael Crichton's, Dan Brown, etc, etc and of course, the Bible (the book that reads me). Harry Potter is the one fandom that I'm very thorough in.
Speaking of which, i am a practising Christian.
I'm not the conservative kind, and I don't have a narrow view of Christianity that insists on proper "dress codes" for women, "proper behaviour" for men and women in public, and I don't support any other restrictions that exist. True Christianity, according to me, is not just about going to church on Sundays, reading the Bible or having a fellowship with others, it's about a total faith in God, which gives meaning to everything else you do. True Christianity is timeless, ageless and endless. Freedom and Modernity are part and parcel of it. I believe in a "contemporary" kind of Christianity.
I believe in God. So i believe in creation. I'm also, a woman of science (an engineer, to be exact). Therefore, I believe in Evolution, as well. And since my God is An Awesome God, nothing is impossible for Him. Perhaps, whatever is evolution from our point of view is creation from His.
I don't believe in superstitions, and I don't have any. Or so I think.
I'm open minded. Enough.
I have no fears. Except of spiders. All insects, actually, now that I think of it.
I am an avid tv viewer, movie watcher and book reader. A fan of creative media, basically. And since, I am a quick-learner, I get to do it all and also get top grades in class. When I was studying, that is.
I am pretty tomboyish...I read comic books, play video games and used to play rough with boys. But I am hopeless at dressing up. I dress for comfort, not style... I am STRAIGHT.
I support all rights.
I am very hard on myself, since I tend to be a perfectionist. I always want a 100% result.
I love reading, drawing, writing, cycling, swimming, badminton, throwball, (wishlist - football, basketball, fencing, karate, kalaripayattu), horse riding, etc, etc.
As you can see, I am also quite obsessive and compulsive. I need things to make sense.
I love the British accent...I find it sexy. Australian is a close second. I am, of course, generalising.
I have moments when I am pretty serious. Well, I'm serious most of the time. Quite short-tempered, too. However, I like to think that I have a great sense of humour, as well.
(Where you decide whether you want me)
Even now, it seemed, time was waiting for them.
- Return to the island
"Nay. Loki of Seven Tongues, they call you. Loki of Silver Speech. A tongue for diplomacy and yet another for lies. You are not just any man. And you were never simple"
"Eight," Loki said softly.
"Eight," he repeated."You forget the eighth." He smirked. "The eighth that was just for you, Sif. That only you knew of."
- Loki 2-
A monster who owned a monster, they said.
"There is no true Loki. Only a lie spawned by the Jotun. A shape that shifts through the day. A shadow that recedes by nightfall"
A frozen heart was the ultimate winter
Friends? Foes? It didn't really matter, though, for they were all equal in death…
- The Aftermath
The stone itself was dull, black and uninteresting. It was now cracked and damaged, but brilliant. A bit like himself, he supposed
- The Gaunt ring
Grindelwald's voice rang out, penetrating even the darkest crevices of his mind. And then nature itself seemed to respond to his call. Strong winds started to blow, making his robes flap behind him. The trees swayed from side to side. The dry leaves on the ground rose up, as if in greeting, and, Grindelwald, himself, appeared.
Dust swirled around both of them in a wide circle, forming a high wall. Strong and powerful and very much human. Grindelwald, the terror of Europe.
- The Greater Good
So persuasive his words...so dark, the con of men.
- The Greater Good
"You could have used a little more bashing up," Lily said, smirking. It was easier to fall into their usual pattern of conversation.
- The Fall out
And he loved her. The realisation hit him slowly, like a familiar ache or a half forgotten dream
You once wrote to me, wishing to be a part of your sister's world, and now is your chance.
- Letters To Petunia
I could have chosen a better path. I could have changed.
"I have been watching the two of you make googly eyes at each other for around three years, now."
"I did not make googly eyes at her." He frowned. "What are googly eyes?"
"You can do a non-verbal?"
"That is a necessary risk, surely. Even the sweetest smelling rose comes with thorns."
- Traitor Beneath My Breast
"Transfiguration is an art," he had said. "Complex but beautiful. An enemy to those who scorn at it and a friend to those who master it. It takes great skill and precision, as well as an enormous amount of focus and practice. And that is exactly what I expect from each of you.
"Transfiguration is a science. Many centuries were spent on discovering its uses, properties, causes and effects. Brilliant minds have worked on refining it over the millennia and lesser minds have marvelled at it. A student of transfiguration is a student unto death.
"Lastly, transfiguration is an academic necessity. Top grades in this subject will be an added advantage in your professional life, no matter what career you choose. I chose to be a teacher, because, quite frankly, a teacher alone can appreciate the true beauty of transfiguration."
The room was quiet.
- Dearborn 2
"Amelia reckons I should have taken over the Ministry. 'By force or farce', she says."
- One Late Evening
I do not presume that the situation I have put you in, is, in any way, convenient. I do presume, however, that, despite any misgivings you might have, you will care for your dead sister's son as you might for an innocent child.
- Letters To Petunia
Gotham was dark. Its criminals were darker. Petty thieves. Shady businessman. And mad men with a warped sense of the world. Plenty who were waiting for a chance to break the Bat.
- Night and Day
She was a conqueror, yet he stood before her unconquered. He has commanded men, yet he does not command her.
-Of Kings and Queens
"Let's not talk of dead things before a battle. It's bad luck."
Where did gods go when they needed to pray?
- A Thor FanFiction in progress.
NOTE - 29th May 2019: My latest story falls in the category of Misc/Misc. books so it's difficult to get it seen. For those of you who have read and liked my stories so far, or would like to read them - would you give it a try? It's "The Mauryans". I know it's a lot of Greek and Indian history & mythology, but I would love it if you could at least give the writing a chance and comment on it maybe. Thanks for the reviews in advance! :)
