Favorite Avatar the Last Airbender Character?
Hmm. I'll have to think about that one... (I'm using the art of sarcasm.) Hands down, Toph. Why Toph, some hardcore Zuko fangirls out there might ask. (Don't get me wrong, I can play the foaming mouth Zuko fangirl too!) But to me, Toph is the most interesting character on the show. It's really quite sad that on the show, she was kind of tossed aside as a static, secondary character. Everybody else got a little character development thrown into the mix, but Toph is pretty much the same as she started off in The Blind Bandit. Which showcases her total bad-assery. i don't usually use words like that, but when it comes to Toph, that's probably the only thing that comes to mind. In the very first episode she appeared in, she singlehandedly takes down, what-6 or 7 top professional earthbenders? And, she's blind??? The first time I watched that episode, I was like Oh. My. Gosh. This. Is. Awesome. and then, in the second season finale, she only INVENTS METALBENDING?? Which, since the beggining of earthbending, was thought to be IMPOSSIBLE?? Sigh. But I think, it's really too bad that she doesn't get more attention paid to her. The whole storyline with her parents was an okay start, but we never do find out about what happened to that letter she sent them in The Runaway. She's the only main character that doesn't have a love intrest, which I thought was a good idea anyways. She's like 12, and it gives her a bit more specialness. Is that a word? I guess so. Since I'm usually frightfully afriad of loonnngggg paragraphs, i shall now take a line break.
Ahh, there, Isn't that better? As i was saying, I'm glad she doesn't really have a primary love intrest, which leads me to my next point. Because throughout the series, you can't ignore how close friends Sokka and her become. And how she "kisses" "Sokka" in the Serpents Pass. Ohh, geez, I cringe every time i watch that. The fact that Toph probably did have a crush on Sokka and how he ignores her for Suki (again, Serpent's Pass "Thanks for saving my life Toph. Hey, no problem Sokka.") makes me even sadder. First, the show doesn't give her enough attention, now Sokka? Poor Toph. *gulp* If I ever say that again, well... I can feel my self buried neck deep in earth already. I hope in the new series, we can see more of what happened to her afterwards. Okay, this is officially a rant :)
I feel like my current obsessions deserves a shoutout, because it's one of the best Disney Channel movies I've seen! As a half Asian myself, I adore Stella and her hardcore rebelness and awesome clothing, especially that overall/jumpsuit thing covered in splatterd paint she wore in one scene. I also adore Miss Hayley Kiyoko, for being a fabulous dancer, singer and performer who super inspires me to dance, write my own(sucky) music and attempt to play guitar. I ship Rayella!! She and Chris are so adorable together :)
Love these overalls:
Rant on Reading:
I'm going to put out there something that seems rather obvious since I'm here in the first place: I love to read. Like LOVE it. I realized this the other day after a particularly hard afternoon. I had settled down and read The Selection by Kiera Cass (Good, pure fluffness book) and proceeded to fangirl about it as is customary. I've had a lot of work lately and that was the first time I'd sat down and read in months probably. Then it kind of hit me: there is nothing in the world that is more enjoyable than reading is to me. It is the one thing that can totally alter my day and change it into something good and wonderful again. It is the one thing I can escape into, build my own world with, imagine, create. And it is the one thing that I want to do for a long time, perhaps even for life. Serious stuff since before I had no direction, whatsoever. I fully plan on writing a long fan-letter to Ms. Cass pouring out my thankfulness but in reality I know that God has been helping me discover my path in life, so I have Him to thank. Still this is pretty wonderful, is it not?
