I love reading, and people at school (especially my friends) think I am insane by the amount of books I read and own. I own over 500 books and my friends and family say I should use a library to save money. Sorry, but NO WAY!! People who borrow library books tend to be careless with them and they get damaged. It makes me really sad to see those books, so I buy my own copies that won't get damaged. My friends who borrow my books know that if they damage or ruin my books they will have to buy me a new copy. Another reason I do not like to use the library is because I will read a book, then I will get random quotes from the book stuck in my head, and I then have to re-read that part. If I return the book to the library, then I have to go back and get it. Yes, I do realize how crazy that sounds, but too bad.
The plus for my friends and family is that all they have to do is buy me a gift card to my favourite bookstore for my birthday or Christmas.
Books I suggest you read:
a) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
b) The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer (the movies SUCK, but the books are good)
c) The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
d) The DragonKeeper Chronicles by Donita K Paul
e) The Confessions of a Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella
f) The Gallagher Girl Series by Ally Carter
g) The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
h) Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series by Ann Brashares
i) The Gemma Doyle Trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty, etc) by Libba Bray
j) The 'Once Upon a Time is Timeless' Series by Various Authors (Retellings of Fairy tales)
Authors (that have not written the books listed above):
a) Meg Cabot --> Funny, romantic books
b) Melissa Marr
c) Julia Quinn --> Most awesome FUNNY cheesy historical romance novels
d) Juliet Mariillier
I'm planning on possibly doing a series of one-shots based off a memoir I wrote for my creative writing course, but that would not be until the summer. If this sounds interesting to you, visit my profile on FictionPress, username: Bibliophile4ever. My life has kind of sucked in the past few years (not saying that for attention, I've been told I can say this) and if you read my story "It Was A Saturday" on FP, you'll get a hint of why it's been hard for me.
