Author has written 6 stories for WALL-E, and Elder Scroll series.
Hello everyone. It is I, The Artist Formerly Known As Metro. Welcome to my repository of fanfic and mouthwords.
I grew up in a tiny, tiny town (seriously, I mean tiny. As in 'population was in the double digits' tiny), in the middle of nowhere, North California, USA. With a brother six years older than I was, and one of my parents a teacher, I spent most of my early years either reading or playing video games (well, watching my brother play them, really; I only started picking up his games when I was around twelve or thirteen). Perhaps inevitably, I became a writer. I suppose I fall into the 'female gamer' demographic as well, but I think of myself more as someone who loves interactive storytelling. That the characters are pixels on a screen is really incidental.
I have a BA in English (what do you do with it, anyway?) with a minor in Creative Writing. I've also studied folklore, psychology, and history (particularly the Industrial Revolution through to the Roaring Twenties), and I've been a practitioner of Aikido for about ten or eleven years.
I have a deep and abiding love of dystopias. My heart is made of steel and clockwork, and all the arteries are rusted over. Rain-drenched streets and decaying buildings are in my blood, sharing space with glittering cybernetics, broken neon lighting, and totalitarian regimes built on the backs of corporations and the downtrodden underclass. A lot of my reading material was passed down to me by my brother, so I've drawn a lot of influence from writers such as Lovecraft, Poe, Neal Stephenson, Philip K. Dick, and Harlan Ellison. I love fantasy, science fiction, noir, and horror in more or less equal measures. Most of my favorite characters are antagonists. Even the heroes are morally ambiguous, at best.
I self-identify -as far as real life is concerned- as asexual. A friend of mine once asked me why, if that's so, I write (and draw) so many adult and/or shipping-oriented pieces, and the answer's simple: human relationships fascinate me. They don't have to be romantic or otherwise explicit in nature; they could be family or platonic friendships. It doesn't matter. The intricacies of the mind, and the motivations that drive people toward (or away from) one another, are a puzzle I never get tired of playing with.
(Also, I have two Achilles heels: good voice acting, and three-piece suits. Whether that counts as being asexual, or just a deeply, deeply closeted heterosexual who lives vicariously through her characters and has weird taste in men, I leave up to you to decide.)
As far as the fanfiction community goes, I'm probably best known as the lady who fills all the prompts for Mercer Frey, over at the Skyrim kink meme (I can't help it. He's Stephen Russell. I'm practically compelled to write him; seriously guys, you have no idea how many hours I sunk into the Thief games growing up). I'm currently in the process of moving them over to this account. Whee!
I also have a DeviantArt account, over yonder:
