Yo! Welcome to my profile. Here, you'll find a plethora of unfinished fics. Nothing motivates me more than a Review, so if you want me to continue something whose unresolved plot keeps you up at night, drop a review, and you'll be my hero! I love fan fiction. Not only have I written several fics (and planned plenty more), I've also MSTed quite a few stories, a list of which can be found on my Tumblr, which can be found here. If I've pissed you off by writing a review or doing an MST of your story, well, get in line. I review fan fic while writing my own as a way to keep myself honest. Why dish it out if you can't take it, right? I feel like talking about my own fan fics on this page is redundant, since their synopses are directly below, so instead I'll take this time to talk about some fan works I've come across that interest me. They're not necessarily "good" per se, but they're all definitely worth looking at. Check This Out, Yo! My Madness, My Saving Sanity, by NightelfCrawler Fandom: Transformers Official Synopsis: Beaten, broken and humiliated, revenge is the one thing that kept Starscream going. But is revenge enough to live on? And when the only place to turn to is your enemies, how long an a lie be convincing? How long can a charade be maintained? My Synopsis: The basic deal is that Megatron fucks up Starscream so bad he has to be dropped off at the Autobot base for repairs. The twist? The Autobots don't know it's Starscream they're taking care of. Hands-down the best thing about this story is the way NightelfCrawler writes Starscream. She does a really good job of creating a psychological landscape where Starscream's self-destructive personality traits make sense. Like, his thought process seems like a logical one. It's believable that he would fall into the same traps over and over. What also makes the story work are the interactions between the characters, and the twists and turns the story offers. Admittedly, not every loose end in the story is addressed by its end, and there is one swerve that's maybe a little too severe for some readers. But the risks it takes are never done out of incompetence, and the characters all have a real camaraderie and chemistry with each other that is rarely seen in even official Transformers fiction. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a thrilling read! Can be found here. Songbird,by StupidBolts Fandom: Transformers, allegedly Official Synopsis: AU. In Cybertronian higher achy, there are slave bots known as Songbirds. Many laws and rules revolve around Songbirds and their masters, and the punishment for breaking any... Is death. My Synopsis: This is, um, an interesting little piece. It only got three chapters deep into its story, and it's so different from anything that Transformers is even remotely supposed to be about that it should make me angry to my boiling point, but I'm actually genuinely curious as to where it was going. Get a load of this: The story takes place in the Armada version of Cybertron where Cybertronians can turn other Cybertronians into courtesans called Songbirds. And in this world of slavery and voyeurism, Optimus Prime's slave is Jetfire. Who is fated to fall in love with Starscream. Who is a prince. Who is betrothed to Megatron. I have made none of that up. If you haven't shrieked in fear at least once during that synopsis, there is just plain no hope for you. But rather than being a complete train wreck, the story is actually kind of interesting. At the time of this writing, it hasn't even begun to get going, but I kind of wish it would. It's so far removed from Transformers that I sort of wonder why the author didn't just make it an original story (for example, do the robots even transform in this story? No one knows!), but I'm putting it out there in the hope that the writer will be encouraged to continue. Can be found here. Handplates AU,by Zarla Fandom: Undertale Official Synopsis: An Undertale AU where Sans and Papyrus were experiments of Gaster's and a whole lot of suffering ensues. My Synopsis: This isn't a fan fic per se but rather a collection of comic pages, detailing a backstory for Dr. Gaster and the skeleton brothers. Each page creates a narrative of Dr. Gaster and his experiments on his creations Sans and Papyrus and the moral turmoil that naturally emerges as a result. Dr. Gaster as Zarla writes him is one of those rare characters who does despicable, unforgivable things and yet remains sympathetic. In his warped view, giving into his budding affection for the boys and taking them in as a family is the selfish thing to do, because if he halts his experiments, he is potentially dooming the monsters to remain trapped underground. And that's a great conflict! The art is great, the story swings wildly between being sweet and fluffy and being nail-bitingly horrifying, often without warning, and Sans and Papyrus are both written really well. The different ways they react to their plight and believable as well as heartbreaking, and there's just so much dimension and world building to the comic. Zarla is well-known among the Undertale fandom, so chances are you've probably seen work by her before, but just in case you haven't, you should totally check it all out. Seriously. What are you still doing here? Go now! Can be found here. (Bring tissues.) I'll definitely add more later, though it's probably not the best idea to present a bunch of other work you should be reading instead of my own... Oh, well. Enjoy both my own stuff, and the stuff above! The world is yours! |
