Author has written 4 stories for Ratchet and Clank.
Name: Paul G.
Occupation: Systems engineer / geek. (No, I cannot fix your -insert-product-name-here-.)
Age: Old enough to get funny looks if I mention that I am Ratchet & Clank obsessed. (Unless they are themselves obsessed.)
Age, part 2: Old enough to have been alive before the moon landing, but young enough not to remember it. Getting a touch of white fur myself.
Education: Master of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering.
Hobbies: Reading, writing, cooking, computers, music, audio engineering, computer animation, fontography and publishing.
Music: Almost anything, but I am not as familiar with the recent groups. Progressive Rock, Rock, Folk/Rock, World/Celtic, Spoken Word, Comedy, you name it, I probably have some example of it. I tend to be lyrics driven, but still have quite a few instrumental and classical works.
Books: Most recently the Harry Potter books, but I like to delude myself into thinking that my writing style is influenced by J.R.R.Tolkien, C.S.Lewis, Jack London, Edgar A. Poe but mostly Jerome K. Jerome.
Games: I am, at most, an amateur gamer. I own an original (hardware emulation) PS3, but the only games I own are the entire R&C series. Beyond that, I am more into retrogaming (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator and text adventure / Infocom). "You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike." Typically I game in very short bursts when I have both the time and the desire to. I also occasionally play Lombax Scrabble.
General Description: I am a geek. I am happy to be a geek. I am also an extremely anti-social hermit.
Stories Written: Ratchet & Clank Future: The Leonid Stories. These includes Homecoming, Relativity (with microstories Instincts, Registration, Bait, and Mortality), Override (with microstories Friends and Terms) and Diplomacy. Homecoming is the first thing I have written for a long time, so it is a bit rough. My writing eventually improves, but looking back at the older stories is still somewhat painful to me. But because all of my stories build on each other, you still have to read Homecoming first!
Microstory: I define a microstory as a single chapter short story that is an expansion of an existing work. It might be able to stand alone, but the background history of the main story is required to really know what is happening. It typically spans less than 24 hours in duration for the characters and has one primary theme. It can still be somewhat lengthy, though. A microstory could also be considered a 'oneshot' or 'longshot', based on the Wikipedia definition.
Avatar: My avatar is a somewhat stylized version of the symbol seen on Aphelion in R&CF:ToD. I use it as the primary symbol of the Lombaxes, and of the Lombax Defense Ministry (LDM). For more information on the LDM, you will need to read my stories...
