Author has written 6 stories for Disgaea, and Mega Man.

Welcome to Watery-the-Strange, 2.0. I decided that it's been way too long since I updated my profile, and it's never too early to do a little spring cleaning, ne? For now I'm leaving up some basic information as well as the Evil Overlord list--however, I will be adding a blog feature as well as lists and poems. Basically whatever I feel like writing that doesn't fit in a fanfiction will appear on this page.

If this is against the rules, just let me know in a PM and I'll take it down. Let's hope it doesn't come to that though, k?

Name: Watery-the-Strange. That is all you need to know about my identidy, mostly because I am satisfied with my plain, boring, cyber-stalker free life. I will, however, give a few minor details about my appearance and personality if you care to read them. But I'm not posting an actual photo of myself. I mean it when I say that I'd rather not have any wackos stalking me online (or off it, for that matter).

Paranoia may take the joy out of life, but at least you won't see my face on the six o' clock news when I go missing. I will simply have vanished off into my safe-house far, far away.

Physical Description:

Height: 5"6

Eyes: Clear brown with shards of green shaped like crescent moons peeking out. I swear to God I'm not making this up.

Hair: Dark brown, volumous, and very, very wavy--about shoulder length when it's poofy, but down to my shoulder blades on the rare occasions I straighten it.

Age: Not telling.

Ethnicity: Not that it matters, but I have English, Irish, German, Ukranian, and Osage Native American Tribal roots.

For those of you who are waiting for me to update Secrets from the Grey Area, there is a very good reason for the year-long hiatus. I am currently editing and rewriting some of the chapters and reworking the kinks in the plot. HOPEFULLY this will create a more...erm...logical yet entertaining reading experience for all of you Disgaea fans. Plus, I wanted an excuse to throw in some more Laharl x Flonne fluff.

ALSO, I am likely to repost this story under my new pen-name, Distant-Moon. The reason is that I am no longer using my old email address, so I have no way of receiving review alerts and PMs and stuff. It's getting difficult to access this account, you see.

You should see an update by mid-September, early October. If not, then spam my PM box (the Distant-Moon one) full of flames if you want. I admit, I deserve it for not updating.

About the rest of my stories, I probably will repost them on my Distant-Moon account, if you care to read them again. So, yeah. Just so you know.

And now, here's something completely random, but when I saw it, I thought it was entirely something Laharl would follow. God knows if Voldemort (SPOILER ALERT!!) had such a list, he probably wouldn't have been killed off so easily in the seventh book--but I digress. So please read and enjoy. I had to copy the copyright notice and everything! See? It's right here:

This Evil Overlord List is Copyright 1996-1997 by Peter Anspach. If you enjoy it, feel free to pass it along or post it anywhere, provided that (1) it is not altered in any way, and (2) this copyright notice is attached.

This Evil Overlord List grew out of the exchanges on what is now the Star Trek mailing list "shields-up@spies.com", beginning in 1994 (when it was still "startrek@cs.arizona.edu"). We were kicking around cliches that appeared on "Deep Space 9" at the time, and I started to compile a list of classic blunders they were making. The list came to about 20 or so items. In 1995, I decided to try to make it into a Top 100 List. I attached a copyright notice, some friends of mine posted it to a few newsgroups, and the contributions quickly poured in. In 1996 I revised the list entries to their current form, the Web page went up, more contributions were solicited, the list expanded beyond 100 and I had to open up a dungeon. I continued to contribute items; my total is around 40 or so. So while I am the originator, editor, and principal contributor, I certainly did not write the majority of the items on the list -- as may be seen by the sheer number of individuals who are listed as contributors. Around 1997, as the final contributions were coming in, a couple contributors mentioned that this was similar to a list of things not to do if you capture James Bond that had appeared on a sci-fi newsgroup. I'd never heard of or seen this list, so I assumed it was parallel development or perhaps something I had inspired.

On November 12, 2002, I exchanged some emails with Jack Butler who has a list on his website. Sayeth Mr. Butler: "This list has its origins on the now-nonexistent FidoNet Science Fiction and Fandom (SFFAN) email echo, in a discussion regarding a sketch seen on an episode of Saturday Night Live sometime in 1990. In the sketch, several Bond villains were appearing on a talkshow touting their new book, "What Not To Do If You Capture James Bond". The discussion on SFFAN was specifically regarding what advice might be found in that book. The instigator of the discussion was Alesia Chamness; other contributors included Jason Welles, Brian R. Williams, Merideth Knepper, and Alexi Vandenburg. I was also one of its contributors. When I originally posted this list to the Internet in 1994, I did so without any awareness of Mr. Anspach, the Star Trek mailing list on which his version of the list appeared, or (later) his website."

Apparently both lists were compiled during overlapping periods of time. Comparing the two, some items appear on one list but not the other. Other items appear identical to those on this list; since many are the result of my writing or editing, I believe they were taken from this list and posted to that list without permission. But other items on that list appear identical to contributions I received before I edited them. Those items may have been taken from that list and submitted here under false pretenses, or they may have innocently been submitted to both lists by their originators. It appears that as a result of this "cross-contamination", the two lists have arrived at a point where there are variations on each other and it is probably impossible to untangle them. (I would still like to talk with Alesia Chamness. If you know her, please ask her to email me.)

I believe Jack Butler when he says the list on his website is the current form of the James Bond Villain list, and I thank him for helping to clarify matters. Let me state that I had nothing to do with the FidoNet SFFAN list which is firmly in the public domain, and I lay no claim to it. The copyright statement attached to my list applies only to this list, in the form it appears.

-- Peter Anspach

Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. With that in mind, allow me to present...

The Top 100 Things I'd Do
If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord

1. My Legions of Terror will have helmets with clear plexiglass visors, not face-concealing ones.

2. My ventilation ducts will be too small to crawl through.

3. My noble half-brother whose throne I usurped will be killed, not kept anonymously imprisoned in a forgotten cell of my dungeon.

4. Shooting is not too good for my enemies.

5. The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my safe-deposit box. The same applies to the object which is my one weakness.

6. I will not gloat over my enemies' predicament before killing them.

7. When I've captured my adversary and he says, "Look, before you kill me, will you at least tell me what this is all about?" I'll say, "No." and shoot him. No, on second thought I'll shoot him then say "No."

8. After I kidnap the beautiful princess, we will be married immediately in a quiet civil ceremony, not a lavish spectacle in three weeks' time during which the final phase of my plan will be carried out.

9. I will not include a self-destruct mechanism unless absolutely necessary. If it is necessary, it will not be a large red button labelled "Danger: Do Not Push". The big red button marked "Do Not Push" will instead trigger a spray of bullets on anyone stupid enough to disregard it. Similarly, the ON/OFF switch will not clearly be labelled as such.

10. I will not interrogate my enemies in the inner sanctum -- a small hotel well outside my borders will work just as well.

11. I will be secure in my superiority. Therefore, I will feel no need to prove it by leaving clues in the form of riddles or leaving my weaker enemies alive to show they pose no threat.

12. One of my advisors will be an average five-year-old child. Any flaws in my plan that he is able to spot will be corrected before implementation.

13. All slain enemies will be cremated, or at least have several rounds of ammunition emptied into them, not left for dead at the bottom of the cliff. The announcement of their deaths, as well as any accompanying celebration, will be deferred until after the aforementioned disposal.

14. The hero is not entitled to a last kiss, a last cigarette, or any other form of last request.

15. I will never employ any device with a digital countdown. If I find that such a device is absolutely unavoidable, I will set it to activate when the counter reaches 117 and the hero is just putting his plan into operation.

16. I will never utter the sentence "But before I kill you, there's just one thing I want to know."

17. When I employ people as advisors, I will occasionally listen to their advice.

18. I will not have a son. Although his laughably under-planned attempt to usurp power would easily fail, it would provide a fatal distraction at a crucial point in time.

19. I will not have a daughter. She would be as beautiful as she was evil, but one look at the hero's rugged countenance and she'd betray her own father.

20. Despite its proven stress-relieving effect, I will not indulge in maniacal laughter. When so occupied, it's too easy to miss unexpected developments that a more attentive individual could adjust to accordingly.

21. I will hire a talented fashion designer to create original uniforms for my Legions of Terror, as opposed to some cheap knock-offs that make them look like Nazi stormtroopers, Roman footsoldiers, or savage Mongol hordes. All were eventually defeated and I want my troops to have a more positive mind-set.

22. No matter how tempted I am with the prospect of unlimited power, I will not consume any energy field bigger than my head.

23. I will keep a special cache of low-tech weapons and train my troops in their use. That way -- even if the heroes manage to neutralize my power generator and/or render the standard-issue energy weapons useless -- my troops will not be overrun by a handful of savages armed with spears and rocks.

24. I will maintain a realistic assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Even though this takes some of the fun out of the job, at least I will never utter the line "No, this cannot be! I AM INVINCIBLE!!" (After that, death is usually instantaneous.)

25. No matter how well it would perform, I will never construct any sort of machinery which is completely indestructible except for one small and virtually inaccessible vulnerable spot.

26. No matter how attractive certain members of the rebellion are, there is probably someone just as attractive who is not desperate to kill me. Therefore, I will think twice before ordering a prisoner sent to my bedchamber.

27. I will never build only one of anything important. All important systems will have redundant control panels and power supplies. For the same reason I will always carry at least two fully loaded weapons at all times.

28. My pet monster will be kept in a secure cage from which it cannot escape and into which I could not accidentally stumble.

29. I will dress in bright and cheery colors, and so throw my enemies into confusion.

30. All bumbling conjurers, clumsy squires, no-talent bards, and cowardly thieves in the land will be preemptively put to death. My foes will surely give up and abandon their quest if they have no source of comic relief.

31. All naive, busty tavern wenches in my realm will be replaced with surly, world-weary waitresses who will provide no unexpected reinforcement and/or romantic subplot for the hero or his sidekick.

32. I will not fly into a rage and kill a messenger who brings me bad news just to illustrate how evil I really am. Good messengers are hard to come by.

33. I won't require high-ranking female members of my organization to wear a stainless-steel bustier. Morale is better with a more casual dress-code. Similarly, outfits made entirely from black leather will be reserved for formal occasions.

34. I will not turn into a snake. It never helps.

35. I will not grow a goatee. In the old days they made you look diabolic. Now they just make you look like a disaffected member of Generation X.

36. I will not imprison members of the same party in the same cell block, let alone the same cell. If they are important prisoners, I will keep the only key to the cell door on my person instead of handing out copies to every bottom-rung guard in the prison.

37. If my trusted lieutenant tells me my Legions of Terror are losing a battle, I will believe him. After all, he's my trusted lieutenant.

38. If an enemy I have just killed has a younger sibling or offspring anywhere, I will find them and have them killed immediately, instead of waiting for them to grow up harboring feelings of vengeance towards me in my old age.

39. If I absolutely must ride into battle, I will certainly not ride at the forefront of my Legions of Terror, nor will I seek out my opposite number among his army.

40. I will be neither chivalrous nor sporting. If I have an unstoppable superweapon, I will use it as early and as often as possible instead of keeping it in reserve.

41. Once my power is secure, I will destroy all those pesky time-travel devices.

42. When I capture the hero, I will make sure I also get his dog, monkey, ferret, or whatever sickeningly cute little animal capable of untying ropes and filching keys happens to follow him around.

43. I will maintain a healthy amount of skepticism when I capture the beautiful rebel and she claims she is attracted to my power and good looks and will gladly betray her companions if I just let her in on my plans.

44. I will only employ bounty hunters who work for money. Those who work for the pleasure of the hunt tend to do dumb things like even the odds to give the other guy a sporting chance.

45. I will make sure I have a clear understanding of who is responsible for what in my organization. For example, if my general screws up I will not draw my weapon, point it at him, say "And here is the price for failure," then suddenly turn and kill some random underling.

46. If an advisor says to me "My liege, he is but one man. What can one man possibly do?", I will reply "This." and kill the advisor.

47. If I learn that a callow youth has begun a quest to destroy me, I will slay him while he is still a callow youth instead of waiting for him to mature.

48. I will treat any beast which I control through magic or technology with respect and kindness. Thus if the control is ever broken, it will not immediately come after me for revenge.

49. If I learn the whereabouts of the one artifact which can destroy me, I will not send all my troops out to seize it. Instead I will send them out to seize something else and quietly put a Want-Ad in the local paper.

50. My main computers will have their own special operating system that will be completely incompatible with standard IBM and Macintosh powerbooks.

51. If one of my dungeon guards begins expressing concern over the conditions in the beautiful princess' cell, I will immediately transfer him to a less people-oriented position.

52. I will hire a team of board-certified architects and surveyors to examine my castle and inform me of any secret passages and abandoned tunnels that I might not know about.

53. If the beautiful princess that I capture says "I'll never marry you! Never, do you hear me, NEVER!!", I will say "Oh well" and kill her.

54. I will not strike a bargain with a demonic being then attempt to double-cross it simply because I feel like being contrary.

55. The deformed mutants and odd-ball psychotics will have their place in my Legions of Terror. However before I send them out on important covert missions that require tact and subtlety, I will first see if there is anyone else equally qualified who would attract less attention.

56. My Legions of Terror will be trained in basic marksmanship. Any who cannot learn to hit a man-sized target at 10 meters will be used for target practice.

57. Before employing any captured artifacts or machinery, I will carefully read the owner's manual.

58. If it becomes necessary to escape, I will never stop to pose dramatically and toss off a one-liner.

59. I will never build a sentient computer smarter than I am.

60. My five-year-old child advisor will also be asked to decipher any code I am thinking of using. If he breaks the code in under 30 seconds, it will not be used. Note: this also applies to passwords.

61. If my advisors ask "Why are you risking everything on such a mad scheme?", I will not proceed until I have a response that satisfies them.

62. I will design fortress hallways with no alcoves or protruding structural supports which intruders could use for cover in a firefight.

63. Bulk trash will be disposed of in incinerators, not compactors. And they will be kept hot, with none of that nonsense about flames going through accessible tunnels at predictable intervals.

64. I will see a competent psychiatrist and get cured of all extremely unusual phobias and bizarre compulsive habits which could prove to be a disadvantage.

65. If I must have computer systems with publically available terminals, the maps they display of my complex will have a room clearly marked as the Main Control Room. That room will be the Execution Chamber. The actual main control room will be marked as Sewage Overflow Containment.

66. My security keypad will actually be a fingerprint scanner. Anyone who watches someone press a sequence of buttons or dusts the pad for fingerprints then subsequently tries to enter by repeating that sequence will trigger the alarm system.

67. No matter how many shorts we have in the system, my guards will be instructed to treat every surveillance camera malfunction as a full-scale emergency.

68. I will spare someone who saved my life sometime in the past. This is only reasonable as it encourages others to do so. However, the offer is good one time only. If they want me to spare them again, they'd better save my life again.

69. All midwives will be banned from the realm. All babies will be delivered at state-approved hospitals. Orphans will be placed in foster-homes, not abandoned in the woods to be raised by creatures of the wild.

70. When my guards split up to search for intruders, they will always travel in groups of at least two. They will be trained so that if one of them disappears mysteriously while on patrol, the other will immediately initiate an alert and call for backup, instead of quizzically peering around a corner.

71. If I decide to test a lieutenant's loyalty and see if he/she should be made a trusted lieutenant, I will have a crack squad of marksmen standing by in case the answer is no.

72. If all the heroes are standing together around a strange device and begin to taunt me, I will pull out a conventional weapon instead of using my unstoppable superweapon on them.

73. I will not agree to let the heroes go free if they win a rigged contest, even though my advisors assure me it is impossible for them to win.

74. When I create a multimedia presentation of my plan designed so that my five-year-old advisor can easily understand the details, I will not label the disk "Project Overlord" and leave it lying on top of my desk.

75. I will instruct my Legions of Terror to attack the hero en masse, instead of standing around waiting while members break off and attack one or two at a time.

76. If the hero runs up to my roof, I will not run up after him and struggle with him in an attempt to push him over the edge. I will also not engage him at the edge of a cliff. (In the middle of a rope-bridge over a river of molten lava is not even worth considering.)

77. If I have a fit of temporary insanity and decide to give the hero the chance to reject a job as my trusted lieutentant, I will retain enough sanity to wait until my current trusted lieutenant is out of earshot before making the offer.

78. I will not tell my Legions of Terror "And he must be taken alive!" The command will be "And try to take him alive if it is reasonably practical."

79. If my doomsday device happens to come with a reverse switch, as soon as it has been employed it will be melted down and made into limited-edition commemorative coins.

80. If my weakest troops fail to eliminate a hero, I will send out my best troops instead of wasting time with progressively stronger ones as he gets closer and closer to my fortress.

81. If I am fighting with the hero atop a moving platform, have disarmed him, and am about to finish him off and he glances behind me and drops flat, I too will drop flat instead of quizzically turning around to find out what he saw.

82. I will not shoot at any of my enemies if they are standing in front of the crucial support beam to a heavy, dangerous, unbalanced structure.

83. If I'm eating dinner with the hero, put poison in his goblet, then have to leave the table for any reason, I will order new drinks for both of us instead of trying to decide whether or not to switch with him.

84. I will not have captives of one sex guarded by members of the opposite sex.

85. I will not use any plan in which the final step is horribly complicated, e.g. "Align the 12 Stones of Power on the sacred altar then activate the medallion at the moment of total eclipse." Instead it will be more along the lines of "Push the button."

86. I will make sure that my doomsday device is up to code and properly grounded.

87. My vats of hazardous chemicals will be covered when not in use. Also, I will not construct walkways above them.

88. If a group of henchmen fail miserably at a task, I will not berate them for incompetence then send the same group out to try the task again.

89. After I captures the hero's superweapon, I will not immediately disband my legions and relax my guard because I believe whoever holds the weapon is unstoppable. After all, the hero held the weapon and I took it from him.

90. I will not design my Main Control Room so that every workstation is facing away from the door.

91. I will not ignore the messenger that stumbles in exhausted and obviously agitated until my personal grooming or current entertainment is finished. It might actually be important.

92. If I ever talk to the hero on the phone, I will not taunt him. Instead I will say this his dogged perseverance has given me new insight on the futility of my evil ways and that if he leaves me alone for a few months of quiet contemplation I will likely return to the path of righteousness. (Heroes are incredibly gullible in this regard.)

93. If I decide to hold a double execution of the hero and an underling who failed or betrayed me, I will see to it that the hero is scheduled to go first.

94. When arresting prisoners, my guards will not allow them to stop and grab a useless trinket of purely sentimental value.

95. My dungeon will have its own qualified medical staff complete with bodyguards. That way if a prisoner becomes sick and his cellmate tells the guard it's an emergency, the guard will fetch a trauma team instead of opening up the cell for a look.

96. My door mechanisms will be designed so that blasting the control panel on the outside seals the door and blasting the control panel on the inside opens the door, not vice versa.

97. My dungeon cells will not be furnished with objects that contain reflective surfaces or anything that can be unravelled.

98. If an attractive young couple enters my realm, I will carefully monitor their activities. If I find they are happy and affectionate, I will ignore them. However if circumstance have forced them together against their will and they spend all their time bickering and criticizing each other except during the intermittent occasions when they are saving each others' lives at which point there are hints of sexual tension, I will immediately order their execution.

99. Any data file of crucial importance will be padded to 1.45Mb in size.

100. Finally, to keep my subjects permanently locked in a mindless trance, I will provide each of them with free unlimited Internet access.

After re-reading my old profile, I realized that I ended it with a statement telling everyone to enjoy my only fanfiction, Secrets From the Grey Area. However, I now have three stories with more on the way, and I never bothered changing it--so I'm taking care of it now. Here's a brief synopsis of stories I do plan on posting in the next few months:

1) Where Will You Go? A ReWrite: Okay, I wasn't exactly satisfied with the ending of this one-shot, as sweet and fluffy as it is. A realistic ending would have been a bit sadder. However, I am smart enough to know that if I ended things too tragically, my readers will all get up and riot--so I'm going to go with an ending that's more realistic, yet fluffy and filled with hope for the future. It's the least I can do to spruce things up a bit.

2) School of Maoh: You take the plot of Disgaea with a completely different setting. It all starts off when Laharl is nine years old and is spending the summer at his father's country mansion. He meets a blue-eyed angel ditz named Flonne, and despite their differences they become friends...until Flonne mysteriously vanishes. Five years later, Laharl and Etna are both starting their freshman year of high school attending the renowned Maoh Academy--despite Laharl's crappy grades, his late father had enough influence while he was alive to get him accepted...somehow. Laharl is determined to take over the reigns of Krichevskoy's yakuza empire, but is completely thrown for a loop when a certain angel exchange student shows up, claiming to be an assassin. Etna scoffs that Laharl doesn't have what it takes to be a yakuza overlord, but then again, she's not the one who has to meet an old childhood friend...

3) Outcasts; An Odd Couple: The possible sequel I have in mind for Secrets From the Grey Area. Can't give you a summary as it would completely spoil the climactic ending of Secrets. I will tell you that it will take place in a series of drabbles centering around a pair of humans that mysteriously turn up in Veldime...any guesses for who they are? And what problems will they face adjusting to their...erm...environment? I may or may not actually publish this one depending on the feedback I get for Secrets once it's finished--but I like the idea too much to give it up.

4) Disgaea! La Musicale! For all you Dr. Horrible fans out there, do I have a treat for you! In a cruel ploy to create his own screen time for the next Disgaea game, Laharl orders Etna and Flonne to kidnap famous human producer Josh Whedon and forces him to write a script like none other--a script that will make Laharl so popular that Nippon Ichi will have to put him in the next game. The result is Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog, and Laharl gets the starring role. What hell will ensue as he tries to upset the status quo while simultaneously trying to woo the girl of his dreams, played by a certain fallen angel? And will Laharl be able to stick to the script?

5) Loving Krichevskoy: Since all I write are Laharl x Flonne fics these days, I decided to write something for the Etna x Laharl fans out there. Don't be deceived by the title! This is a one-shot reflection through Etna's point of view, centering around her diary entries and a certain rising Overlord. What siimilarities will she see between Krichevskoy and his son? And how will she cope with the discovery?

I also plan on writing stories for other genres. Eventually, I will be writing for Avatar, the Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Digimon, and even Pokemon. Hey, don't roll your eyes at the last one--I'm going to package a sense of cold hard realism and hand deliver it to the Pokemon universe, since all I see lately are all the cheesy Ash pairings and new trainers starting their pokemon journey. Bleh, I get enough of that by playing the games--which I already have a beef with because a REAL rpg would let you do ANYTHING you wanted. For example, if I, on a whim, wanted to join Team Rocket or whatever evil organization is out there, I should be able to. I should be allowed to steal other pokemon and rise to the top through a life of crime and scandal. But they always have you playing the hero--it's just so one-sided. --Sigh--

But enough rants. Here's what I have in mind for these genres:

6) Blood and Bone: An Avatar fic. Katara has always seen blood-bending as a curse. Fortunately, it seems as if she has it under control. But what happens when her bending starts to control her? What will come of this new homicidal urge?

7) The Sleeper Named Strange: Jake Reed has lived a relatively normal life. Oh, except for the Gotsumon living in his closet and the arrival of a sleeping maiden guarded tenaciously by a Black Tailmon. Will these two have what it takes to defeat the Anti-Digidestined and their partners?

8) The Brightest Star: Nightwing has never known his daughter. But one day he receives a threatening transmission from an alien menace offering the ransom of his only child and heir to the Tamaranean throne. But that's not the only surprise waiting for him as he returns to confront the princess he left behind on Tamaran. Will they be able to put their past aside and save their daughter before it's too late?

9) Crazy Like Glue: This is a Teen Titans crack fic I wrote in the ninth grade that I will post simply because I can. A Rob/Star disaster centered around a container of crazy glue. Do you get what I mean when I say it's a CRACKFIC?! It has no literary hidden meaning. It's just randomness.

10) Dance of the Dragons: Teenager Lisa Middens is on a field trip with her class to observe the natural environment of Solrock and Lunatone--that's right, Meteor Falls. However, the arrival of agent Snake of the Dragon-Claw gang will send her spiraling directly off a waterfall and into a life of crime! That is, unless she can convince Snake to change his ways for the sake of his pokemon. Either way, she's his prisoner with only a little new-born Bagon at her side. Will she survive the encounter?

11) Even: Elenora Snow has never been allowed to become a pokemon trainer. Having been sheltered all her life by her rich, well-to-do aunts, Leno tries to escape her stiffling rich-girl lifestyle at the Hoenn Academy with her prized Espeon, Eve, and her new friend Jess--an scholarship exchange student from the Kanto region. Will they sweep the league? Or will their dreams be crushed before they can even begin?

Yeah, I know I dislike starting trainer fics (most of the time) for their robotically parallel plot structure to the games. Lately, though, I've been wondering if I can put my foot in my mouth and write a starting trainer fic that even I can tolerate. This is the only idea I got so far, but I may or may not change it around a bit to suit my whims.

And last but not least...

12) REVEALED! The TRUTH about Pokeworld! Ever wondered how pokemon could co-exist with human beings PEACEFULLY as the human race continued to develop? Was it always this friendly symbiotic relationship known as the Trainer and his/her pokemon? And what the hell is in one of those hamburgers that get served at the Pokemon Center? Seriously, why the hell hasn't anyone wondered about that?! The humans couldn't all be freaking vegetarians, can they? So what do they eat?!

Heh, heh...I'm so evil.

This is getting a bit frustrating. So this is what multi-tasking is like, I guess. I mean, maybe everyone would be on the verge of insanity after juggling, like, twelve potential fics! Maybe I should prioritize...hmmm...

To those of you who actually care to check my profile, besides a hearty thank you for giving a damn I'd like to let you know that I've started work on the next chapter of Secrets From the Grey Area. Once that is done, I'll start the next part of Disgaea! La Musicale! I'm thinking of renaming it Laharl's Sing-Along Blog, but that title sucks almost as badly as the last one. I dunno, I'm trying at least. Right now, besides updating my profile, I'm mapping out the script for Act one of Dr. Horrible and rewriting it Disgaea style. Needless to say, it's taking me forever!! AUGGH!!

At least I get to hear the songs again...sigh...

What was I saying before I started lamenting about going back to work? Oh, right! Updates!

I should have the next chapter of SFGA up by Friday unless something catastrophic happens, like I lose my wireless hookup or my parents decide to confisgate my computer for whatever inane reason pops in their heads. This is why I hate being home for the holidays...but that's enough about that. I hope all of you readers out there are doing well, and that you don't have writer's block or something because that is a real bitch to get rid of. And believe me, slamming my head into my computer desk DOESN'T help, contrary to common belief. It only gives you--or rather me--a nasty headache.

Bye for now--unless I get the urge to post something, which I probably will as a means of procrastination, you probably won't hear from me until tomorrow. Happy reading!

1/15/2009: Okay, so I lied. It's been two days.

Great news, everybody! I'm now finishing up the editing for the next chapter of SFGA! So for those of you who have been waiting for an update, you'll be sure to get one today.

The last chapter introduced Prier, but she never met Flonne. This update is going to have them meet and discuss things that will be very important for the plot later on--at least, for Prier. I assume you all care about what happens to her, so I suggest you pay close attention to exactly what they say. We're also going to get a better understanding of how extensive the Azure Spires really are.

Which reminds me: A lot of you guys asked me about the Azure Spires in your reviews. Who are they? What exactly do they do? Why? Don't think you have to reread all the chapters to glean information about them. Everything is going to come out into the open about them in one or two chapters. In fact, Vlanaar is going to explain it all, from the Spires all the way down to his weird-ass shadow power. I just hope this story isn't getting too complicated.

As for my most recent fic, Disgaea! La Musicale!, I decided not to update that until I got this next chapter for SFGA out of the way. Also, I am officially holding a contest for a title. If any of you happy-go-lucky readers with a lot of time on your hands can think of a better title for this fic, I will select the best one and credit the person who came up with it. I don't really have any prizes that are better than that, so...yeah! --Sweatdrop-- Recognition is pretty sweet, right? Right??

All right, let me finish the editing and then I'll post the next chappie. I hope you enjoy it! As always, Happy Reading!

1/15/2009: Okay, so I was wrong. Sorry for getting your hopes up everyone who was waiting for an update. It turns out I discovered a major plot discrepancy (I hope I spelled that right, but I'm too frustrated to care right now, honestly...) that needs immediate revision. I'm talking about major freaking screw up. So now I have to go back and rewrite an entire gosh-forsaken scene! And I was so happy the first time I wrote it, too! I'm so mad!! RAWR!!

I'm really, really sorry, everyone! I promise I'll have everything worked out by Monday, no later! And it'll be an early post on Monday, too, so don't worry! God, I suck! I'm going to lose all my readers at this rate!! --Panics-- NO!! I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!! MUST...FINISH...REWRITE...!!

--Collapses in exhausted/frustrated heap--

Check please!

1/20/2009: Hey, it's inauguration day for Barack Obama! Yay! As a treat for all of you, I've finally managed to post the next chapter to SFGA. The next chapter is UP if you care to read it! And it's only a day past my promised deadline, so please don't kill me! Oh, and I'm going to go watch the inauguration now.

Before I go, let me tell you that now that chapter sixteen is up for SFGA, I will work on the next update, which will be for Disgaea! La Musicale! After that (I give no promises for a deadline this time, as I realize that deadlines are for people who are a LOT more organized than I am...and who don't have siblings. I love my sibbies, though!) I will post the first chapter for a new fic, School of Maoh. Yes, it will all be in that order, so there.

Bye for now. TV.

1/22/2009: Nothing much happening, just thought I'd pop in and say hello. Also, after looking at my story stats I realized that I need more chapter stories up, so I'm going to post the first chapter of the School of Maoh after I finish the final editing stages. There's only one thing I want to fix and then it'll be up for your reading pleasure. For those of you who were hoping for La Musicale, don't worry; you'll definitely get an update. I just thought I'd give everyone something to read while I torment Laharl, er, I mean...work on my creative writing. Yeah! That's the ticket!

Unfortunately, Laharl doesn't exactly fit in the Dr. Horrible costume like I had...er...hoped he would...

Laharl: (struggling in a lab coat that's way too big on him while flapping his arms--hidden in the long, white sleeves--like a deranged chicken) "GOD DAMN IT!! WHERE'S MY FRICKIN' SWORD?! I'LL CHOP THIS THING TO SHREDS!!"

Now, now, temper! Don't make me get the problem stick!

(Yes, folks. I did make a Harry Potter Puppet Pals reference, as a matter of fact...)

Laharl: "Let me tell you what you can do with that problem stick: go shove it up your--..."

(Slaps hand over mouth) Sorry! Time's up! Back into the cage you go!

Laharl: "What cage?"

(Pointing towards a shadowy corner, where a hulking pink cage sits; crammed almost to the limit with the most evil of evils...) That one.

Laharl: (Eyes bug out in terror) "N-not...(gulp) THAT one...! You can't make me go in there!!"

(Pulls out an Uzi) Oh?

Laharl: "I'll do anything! I'll give you Flonne!"

Flonne: (From off camera) "YOU'RE SO MEAN, LAHARL!!"

Laharl: "Hey, shut it, Love Freak! You're not the one who has to deal with..." (A tremendous shudders ripples through the young overlord's lean frame as his skin, now sickeningly pale due to fright, becomes cold and clammy) "...FAN GIRLS!!"

(A loud screeching noise is heard as several ravenous girls of various shapes and sizes attack the pink bars of the cage. Laharl, clearly unnerved by the sight, ducks behind Flonne and uses her as a sheild. However, this utterly fails the moment he notices that several of the crazed females were cosplaying like Etna or Flonne in hopes of...winning his heart. The very thought made him cringe.)

Sucks to be you! (Shoves Laharl into the cage) Better luck in the afterlife!!

Laharl: "GAAAAAAAHHHHH!! GET THEM OFF ME!!" (Draws his sword and swings it at the fan girls) "BACK! BACK I SAY!! GET YOUR STINKING HANDS OFF OF ME, YOU...NO, WAIT! DON'T! NOT THE HAIR!!"

Flonne: "Wow, Laharl. You really hate it when someone messes up your hair."

Etna: (Appearing beside Flonne) "Yeah, what a drama queen. Oh, don't mind me, I'm just here on a whim."

That's right. She is here on a whim; MY whim. Anyway, I'm going to cease this shameless attempt at procrastination and gtfo. I got stories to update, you know.

Flonne: "Oh, but we were having so much fun!"

Laharl: (Reappearing, looking disshevled and paranoid, his face plastered with lip-stick marks) "SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!!"

Tee hee...Watery out!

2/1/2009: My birthday! Yayness!

I know it's been a ridiculously long time since I've posted anything. I'm truly sorry--but after reading DisgaeaLord's Bleach fic, I've suddenly found myself pouring over fanfiction. And, yes, Toshirou is my favorite character. I freaking want a Toshirou plushie!! Someone please buy me one! I'll love you forever if you do!!

If you care to look, you'll see I've updated my favorite pairings list to include the Bleach ones. That's something new, eh?

I'm also in progress of mapping out potential Bleach fics to appear in the future. They are all purely crack, but hopefully well-written crack. And, as always, if anyone steals my ideas, I will hunt you down and come into your room and wring your freaking...I mean...um...lawsuit. Yeah. That's totally what I meant!

Anyway, I shouldn't taunt you guys with potential fics without updating the ones I already have up. So let me get back to work before I have a riot on my hands--"BUT IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! DON'T I GET THE DAY OFF?!"

--Sigh-- Back to the old grind.

3/8/2009: So I looked at my profile and realized just how lazy I've gotten.

I have decided, to hell with it, I'm posting as much as I can tonight. This will include the first chapter of School of Maoh as well as the first chapter of another story I'm writing. I'm going through a Bleach and a Mega Man Nt Warrior phase, so I'm trying to come up through stuff for both of those categories. I'm actually working on one Mega Man fic called Obsolete. You can look it up if you care to read it, though considering my poor track record when it comes to updating, I'd be surprised if anyone will read anything I write these days.

Okay, so I'm going to jump to that then. Secrets of the Grey Area will also be updated as soon as possible. I'M SO SORRY I PUT THIS STORY OFF FOR SO LONG!! I just kind of had school occupying my time lately--my quantum physics philosophy class is draining me. What time I have to myself I spend reading this dry material...uggh!

Right. I'll be posting now. Again, I apologize for not existing for so long.

Okay, so I know I told everyone I'd be posting this weekend. However, I am really hating the way the next chapter of Secrets is turning out, so I spent all day today trying to work out the kinks and plot holes. Turns out I had to start again by scratch. I hate life.

So, after the final stage of editing, I will be posting tomorrow. You can count on that.

See you.

I know I failed at updating. It's my own fault, and I have my reasons for it. Anyway, I'm here to announce the brand new Disgaea RP thread I have created! YAY! If you want to play, check out the Disgaea forum category and look it up! It should be lots of fun, and it might give me some inspiration to update.

Also, check out my deviant account. I am Velvet--Red--Moon. Please don't flame it or use the comment box to spam my profile, or I will find you.

Okay, nuff said. Good nite!

Just in case you guys missed my announcement earlier, I'm copying and pasting it here, below--
