UPDATE: I am no longer accepting beta reader requests, and have decided to go on hiatus indefinitely owing to RL concerns.
Heya, I'm a biology student who enjoys writing as a hobby. Wrap your mind around that one!
Headcanons make me squee (provided I like the headcanon and the characters).
I love villains and anti-heroes of all kinds; the darker and more twisted the better (as long as they're not stock horror characters). Tragic villains are my absolute favorite types of characters in the whole entire universe.
I am randomly obsessed with random voice actors, and throw voice-actor references into my fanfics constantly. Spot them if you can (hint: all of them will pertain to ENGLISH VA's).
I will occasionally do reviews on request. However, there are a few ground rules:
1) I do not review known or suspected troll fics, nor do I review works where the author's first language is obviously not English. Don't even ask.
2) Do not ask me for more than one review on any one story. I may or may not review again, but if you're that concerned with the quality of your writing, a beta reader will be far more helpful than a review.
3) If you want me to take the trouble to review your stuff, you should give me something in return. Either review one of my stories yourself with constructive criticism or recommend them to someone who will.
4) You must be more interested in honest feedback than praise.
I know, updates have been really slow owing to RL concerns. Hopefully things will start to trickle back in in the new future.
*My Philosophy on Canon*
Generally speaking, when I write fanfiction, I will select one version of a particular story and stick with it all the way through (unless the different versions are really faithful to one another). To me, when it comes to details about a fictional character and world, there's two types of information: information that is confirmed in the story itself and information that is simply not set in stone. It doesn't matter to me if the creator of a work themselves insisted that something is or happened a certain way after the fact; if it isn't in the story itself, and I don't like it, it didn't happen.
Favorite Quotes (of, by, and about fiction in general)
"Just because you have powers, doesn't make you a hero! Sometimes, it just makes you a jerk..." --Will Stronghold, Sky High
"Sensible proponents of fantasy argue that it is perfectly okay to like dragons and wizards, and that the presence of fantasy elements does not make a story frivolous. Less sensible proponents of fantasy seem to want to argue that it is perfectly okay to like nothing except dragons and wizards, and that fantasy elements make a story more meaningful by their mere inclusion."
"Fantasy is not factual, and because it is not factual it must remain true, and the truth is that the real world matters, and that real people are amazing, and a hero who doesn't return is no hero at all."
