Poll: When You Get a Review, Do You Respond with a Reply and Why? Vote Now!
Author has written 20 stories for Shadow of the Colossus, Fire Emblem, Castlevania, Lost In Blue, Harvest Moon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bravely Default, and Sims.
I've noticed a lot of people don't respond to reviews lately. This was curious to me, since when I joined here, I got the idea there was something of an unwritten code about that - someone reviews, you respond. So, I wondered if anyone else thought the same or if more people were just shy about replying.
After so many years, I figured it's time to gut my profile and start anew. So, here goes.
I never realized I've been here for eight years this last September. It seems like it's been so long ago, which I guess it was. I began here when I was a college student, now here I am working. I joined here because I enjoy writing, although sometimes life does manage to make it more of a chore every now and then. Still, I'd like to think I still have something left in the tank.
I first began with a single story, The Twin Blades. It was something I began cooking up even before I played the game that inspired it, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Then, as I worked on it, new stories came to mind. Pretty soon, I expanded into other fandoms, some more active than others. Still, the Fire Emblem section has been the most memorable for me. I've met some amazing people here, but I've seen them leave as time went on. Some, I'm still fortunate enough to still keep in touch. As for the rest, I've never forgotten them, and I'd like to think somewhere out there they haven't forgotten me either.
Some of you may be curious about my pen name. Well, it's actually a combination of two of my first usernames in the online world. The seal part, aside from the fact that I like seals, comes from my name on Animal Crossing Community. I got the name Freelancer from the old Nintendo forum I was a part of, Nsider2. It was also there that I got my first taste of fan fiction. So, as a result, TheFreelancerSeal, came to be. Plus, in the Final Fantasy games, the 'freelancer' character class seems most applicable to me, as I don't seem to specialize in just one area.
As for what I write, I write what I have ideas for. Not all of my work sees the page, and sadly, not all my works I set out to finish are accomplished. But who knows? Maybe one day some of those ideas will see the pages, and maybe some of those forgotten pieces will be complete. Only time will tell.
Outside of writing, I'm something of a gamer. Actually, that's where I get most of my material from - the things we don't see in the game. I enjoy just trying to fill in the blanks. Besides that, I used to be big on LEGO, but then the collection grew too big. I'm also big on music, mainly stuff from the oldies era, and I do mean oldies. Stuff from the 50s and 60s are what I was raised on. That being said, I do have a wide taste in music. Music helps bring me inspiration from time to time.
By the way, if anyone is or knows a good fan artist who's willing to work for little more than recognition, I'd like to have a little chat.
So, I guess that's it for now.

A Note About Guest Reviews:
Recently, I've had a number of guest reviews posted on some of my work. Now, I don't oppose guest reviews because I've reached out to people on other sites to see if they had any interest in my work. I don't expect them to create an account here. But when people basically just want to cause trouble for me, like this reviewer apparently did, well that I won't stand for. Now, I'm a nice guy, but I can be pushed. If you think my stories are bad, then so be it. My work won't please everyone, but if you leave a review that basically amounts to pointless bashing, well then you're getting the axe. As I said, I'm a nice guy, but even nice guys have limits. To me, this sort of this is a shameless not to mention cowardly act, and if you're going to criticize me, at least have the decency to sign in and say it to my face.
If you believe in Jesus Christ put this in your profile and don't just ignore this, because in the Bible it says if you deny me, I will deny you in front of my Father in the gates of Heaven.
There are many ways I could say this, but I'd say the words spoken by my friend DM say it better than I ever could. I seem to be a person of words, but it's of words that don't count. These words on the other hand do count.
The Most Important Decision of Your Life
1. God’s plan for man was simple: Have an earth that will praise Him and glorify His Name.
This is God’s free gift to man. All that is needed are three things: Confession, Acceptance, and Repentance.
