In my stories, Naruto's personality will be different from canon. I cannot stand how Kishimoto has portrayed his supposed "main character" as a naive fool since the start of the series. I simply cannot stand canon!Naruto unless he changes over time.
Here is the difference that I need to correct with my stories and will be editing them to reflect as such:
Youki will refer to the energy from monsters(as they are called in RosarioVampire), demons, and the such as well as the energy from Bijuu.
Youkai will refer to the monsters, demons, and such themselves.
I have a love for using Fuuinjutsu in my stories so expect them to be used in some part in my stories, kinda fits well with the Uzumaki affinity to them so it works.
I am going to start a list of my least favorite fanfictions that I come across as a way of showing good plots that get ruined by overzealous writers or the plot being badly written out. There will be some spoilers.
Just thought I would do a little rant about good story ideas that failed due to the author or a good story being ruined by bad/overly cliched plots/plot devices
Warning, there will be spoilers for the stories in question.
Through the eyes of a snake by Ginjaa Ninjaa : First the idea of the story is great with Naruto being a bit colder and going becoming the Hokage by using his intelligence. Good to see another idea where Naruto becomes a snake summoner that isn't linked to Orochimaru and nice to see Karin as what looks to be the main girl. Now we get to the bad. Naruto comes across as too weak and too long to recover. It was put in the manga that Naruto's regeneration was to the point that a nights rest would heal most injuries as even when Naruto had a Chidori shoved through his chest, he was better in a day or two, that's strike one. Ayame becoming a prostitute in order to save her family business because Naruto eats there. Not even close to possible and seems like drama and angst just for the hell of it, strike two. And for strike three we have the fact that there is so much double talk that it isn't even funny. It seems like the author is just throwing things into his story without remembering what he had put previously. This earns its place as the first in my list of Story Failures.
Naruto: Knight of Highever by KitBeast : Now this was a story that in the first three chapters I was starting to like but some things just ruined it for me and had me rubbing my head in confusion. For the first strike, the author seems to have a hate for the whole training of a ninja as he has Naruto throwing all that training out of the story while he is still able to use chakra. Next is the way he say that Naruto had been acting arrogant but he has him being a submissive little puppy when he gets yelled at in chapter 3. This is Naruto we are talking about, yes he boasted in canon but he was never to the point that he honestly believed he could beat any possible person. The third strike is for his little rant about how he wasn't underpowering Naruto with faulty and false points (His rant is on his profile, not in his story). 1: A Samurai (from the Naruto canon) being able to beat a Kage-level ninja. This is completely false as we see them get killed by normal Chuunin or Jounin level ninja. So no, a S-ranked ninja with years of training and experience would not be defeated by a samurai or a Warrior from Dragon Age. 2: The discussion about Naruto not being able to take the darkspawn on all by himself. While he does have a point that Naruto would not be able to defeat every darkspawn on his own, he would definitely be able to handle himself and not be really harmed by a group of normal darkspawn. The point that I do dispute is that a normal darkspawn is the level of a Chuunin level ninja. A Chuunin already overpowers a normal darkspawn with the experience in battle and his clear mind while darkspawn are usually just on run on instinct or have a craving for death. 3: The Archdemon being a god and able to slaughter the Kyuubi. Now, while an Archdemon has the soul of an Old god, it is still in a physical and mortal body in the form of a dragon. Kyuubi is NOT a mortal creature as it a demon and an invincible one at that with no other possible way to defeat it other than by sealing it into someone. These three strikes and the authors points earned this story as the second in my list of Story Failures.
