Author has written 4 stories for Ghost Hunt, and D.Gray-Man.
Reading is much easier to accomplish in a short amount of spare time rather than writing... so unfortunately there will be much more of the former by me than the later, although I wish I had time to work on the plunnies that do insist on making their presence known.
Anime/manga is a full time hobby for the past 20 years... genre isn't really a factor I consider when watching an anime / reading a manga for me, it's the characters. If I can't find a reason to like the characters, I drop it. I keep track of anime on my page here. Favs include D.Gray-man, Ghost Hunt, Detective Conan, BLEACH, HXH, Escaflowne, Initial D, Meine Liebe, Get Backers, FMA, City Hunter, Inu Yasha, Prince of Tennis, Shurato, Matantei Loki, Kodomo no Omocha, Zombie Loan, Uraboku, Pandora Hearts, Natsume Yuujinchou, Kuroshitsuji, Kuroko's Basketball, Golden Days (no anime for), Star Driver, Nurarihyon no Mago, Chihayafuru, Kimi ni Todoke, Ao no Exorcist, Spice and Wolf, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Shakugan no Shana... eh, it's a long list.
User name refers to the strong following I have of Japanese voice actors, seiyuu. Willing to try out an anime if favs are in it. Can find me most readily on livejournal which revolves around this ever pleasantly consuming anime "hobby".
So most stories I'm reading are anime/manga based although there's many other TV series (detective/mystery/sci-fi/supernatural/fantasy leaning like Remington Steele, Relic Hunter, ST TNG, Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Merlin, Sanctuary...) that I delve into now and then.
Dear Ghost Hunt fanfic writers:
If you're going to alter established FACTS, kindly mention it somewhere. Otherwise I shake my head and tend to abandon the story very quickly.
Naru is ONE year older than Mai. Ages and other facts are in Vol5 of the manga.
When Naru goes back to England, it's only for 2 months. SPR does NOT close. Madoka stays in Japan. Mai still has her job!
And Noll (ノル）and Naru （ナル）are not the same in Japanese. You have to slur Naru to sound like Noll. But it was close enough by Mai to give him a bit of a start.
Although Naru is short for narcissist, Naru doesn't display the more usually well-known aspect, being in-love with one self. Naru does have these traits (listed as some of the traits (need 5 to qualify) of NPD): is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends; lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others; shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.
I've never tried the English dub for the English release of the anime so I didn't realize until another fan mentioned it... wtf was Funi thinking... To those you have only watched the anime in English dub, please note there is no character named "Yasu" and he is never called that in the original. His name is Yasuhara (last) Osamu (first).
July 28, 2012: Awesome news!! (ANN read at) Manga adaptation of the last Ghost Hunt story (= 2 novels by Ono Fuyumi (from 1994), "Akumu no Sumu Ie" starts in Kodansha's ARIA monthly publication (September issue which came out July 28). I wonder how long it will take to get done. Hopefully no long delays as there was with the last couple volumes of the manga (years apart). Sadly the news isn't quite as amazing if it had been to say that Ono is continuing the series (and not just the revamp of the original novels that was done last year (which will be a miracle if those ever get to English *SIGH* (and Vol12 of the manga for that matter)). Still I didn't think we'd see a manga adaptation so happy dance! Bring on the tea!
July 2016: Third and final volume for Akumu no Sumu Ie manga will be out later this year (in Japan). Ah will there ever be an official English release (along with Vol12)...
